Seems almost every time I watch Fisher, he ends up collecting someone.

Wouldn't a significant number of the riders concerned just take out Polish licences?
Who knows, but sitting on their hands clearly isn't working.
-
Can you imagine if Wolves didn't want Tai to ride in Poland on a Sunday because they had a big derby with Coventry the day after and got the BSPA/ACU to remove his start permission, there would be uproar in Poland. There needs to be the same uproar here and not just from the Brummies, its unacceptable that British Speedway is messed around like this
I'd totally support Wolves/BSPA if they were so minded, as I'm sure the only way to kick the Poles into touch is to dish out the same treatment to them.

Well it's not like Brum haven't been here before........................
About time the BSPA teamed up with the Swedes, Danes etc, and withdrew their riders from Polish teams until they learn they can't keep throwing their weight around as they see fit.
Also isn't this against European employment law, ie restricting someones ability to work ?.

Confirmed on Bees website now
Harris & Hansen missing. Was looking forward to watching them.
Plymouth already have fixture that night so won't Barker also be missing?
Sounds like it's shaping up to be a BSPA select 14, never mind Cov fielding a random 7.

Where do you think he will ride in the riding order, might be best to put him with King or barker, as both have had a lot of laps at PB, it should be good on Wednesday.
Nermarks a safer pair of hands for a newbie IMO, Barkers had two collisions with teammates recently and King would be better with Covatti.

You only see the bits you want to see.
The guy hasn't scored a point yet and you're making him out to be a messiah. Well I hope you're right. Time will tell, but let's face it, it's only a short time. He'll only have a few weeks for the Brummies, so he's got to adapt quicker than Janowski, or either of the Pawlicki's did, if he's going to persuade anyone that he's capable of cutting the mustard in this country. It's no good saying "give him a few weeks", because in a few weeks, Adam Skornicki will be back. He not only has to hit the ground running, but hit the ground sprinting. If he can't do a decent job, then, well, you saw how the crowd turned on Kasprzak. He's had the big fanfare, now he has to live up to it, and I hope he does.
I'd like to think our crowds will be more knowledgable for someone new to British Speedway, Kazparkzak had been established in the UK for some time so there was no excuse with him, a kid finding his way deserves a bit more slack to an established No1 and GP rider.

Hands up who's just going to write "Bart" in the programme.

Just out of interest, was there a reason why Paul Starke wasnt used in heat 14? im not complaining as Mr Barker brought the house down with that heat 15 pass.
That looked a major goof to me at the time, Starke is easily the best reserve of the two, Lambert had had 3 rides, and it would have been desirable to not give Eastbourne a sniff of a point going into heat 15, dress it up how you want, but to me Jack Lee made a glaring tactical error that everyone in the stadium bar him spotted, he could well have cost us a point if not for Barkers heat 15 display.
Why are the locals not turning up? That meeting was top draw stuff. Loads of brilliant races. I thought last nights meeting from Sweden was good but this beat it hands down. Ben Barker was bloody good tonight too and repaying the faith the Brummies management have shown in him.
If a few more meetings had that result, excitement and less of the infighting, negativity etc etc, then crowds would start going in the right direction.
Track looked very dusty, but what do i know,!!fantastic racing, superb passes and Barker last bend overtake to win heat 15.,to send the home fans happy.what a way to take all the points.more of that please.
Track was well watered beforehand, a dry warm night soon dried it out, little you can do without slowing preceedings to rewater.
Has anyone else noticed the water bowser doesn't seem to get used now in favour of trackside hosepipes ?.
-
Disgraceful from Nermark, could tell in middle of bend he had no intention of turning and drove Nielsen from inside of apex right out into fence.
Admittedly I wasn't there, but isn't he within his right to try and block off a passing move ?, if the kid didn't back off and kept going wider and wider, who's faults that ?.
Disgusting move by Nermark totally fenced Nielsen you could see its a mile off it was going to happen fkn idiot.
Belle Vue made hard work of it need to up there game because Birmingham are crap.
You can talk about dubious racing lines, the amount of times I've seen Holder ride a track he's made up including the centre green on turn 1/2.

To be honest, I find it daft anything about outside influence is in the rulebook, how much difference is someone yelling and waving on the sidelines going to make ?,.

Closer than I thought, but 0 is still 0.

Shame as was hoping it was wolves & cov
I don't understand their logic, Wolves V Cov on paper sounds like it could be a half decent match, this one looks like being a massacre.

No bile on here, so is it the Brum forum?
Presumably, do have to question the logic of continually biting the hand that feeds you though, regardless of whatever was said, keep doing that and the dog will die of starvation when the hand stops feeding it.

Fear this could be near 70 the way Belle Vue are going at home, Nick Morris is a good second string, but number 1 he most certainly aint.
-
Another outstanding bit of PR from Alan Phillips this morning with this tweet
Amazing how "fans" who decline to speak to the club directly via liaison committee choose to spread bile on forums like rats In sewers x
Wonder how manymore "rats" will desert Captain Phillips sinking ship now at such a statement

There was no money left at Brum the side was built on a tight budget they should of dropped down to the PL like Peterborough.
Why does this myth continue that the PL is the answer to all ills ?, a drop to the PL would see a corresponding drop in crowd levels and sponsors income as people say the club owners have no ambition.
Lower PL costs are a waste of bloody time if they bring PL crowds and revenue with them, you'd still be in the red, if people are not going to turn out for this shower of a team, how many do you think will turn up for effectively "division 2 speedway" after voluntary relegation ?.
And Peterborough didn't "drop down", they went bump, reformed and were offered PL take it or leave it.
-
I'm not sure there's one root cause so much as many contributing factors that have alienated people over the last 3 years or so, in no particular order, I can think of:
Press releases from the current promotion that read as though biting the hand that feeds it
This absymal looking team on paper in February has turned out to be exactly that
The revolving door with rumour and counter rumour at Management/Boardroom level
Putting prices up sharply for play off matches, which angered plenty who have been there every week
Inability to decide on a race night, switching from Wednesday to Thursday and then back again a season later (not helpful if you work shifts or some evenings)
More press releases full of negativity at a time when the team was flying and that should have been said instead as it's more enticing
Some taking the hump with Drury and his methods years before he departed
With not much sign of improvement anytime soon, I suspect many still mistrust Alan Phillips
Take your pick if your looking for a sole reason, but I think all take a percentage of the blame for the current lack of turnout, loyalty and trust takes a lifetime to build but a moment to lose.
-
Agree but Brum have not signed anyone else. Could it be they just brought in Covatti just so King could D/UP with the Diamonds?
Well if further changes are not forthcoming, Alan Phillips has no grounds for complaint when people vote with their feet, we would have stood a chance tonight if Nico had the benefit of PL doubling up and Barker only being noticable for being in close attendance when King and Scornicki went down, speaking of which, what didi people watching the feed think of these ?, the King one was too far away for me to see well, but in heat 13, my impression was Barker made accidental contact and unsettled Scornicki, surprised to see Adam excluded.
-
Tbh Nico is not doing much better and Nico is riding in an easier position.
I've said this before this using Nico gives you 2 points or so to add to another change elsewhere, retaining Kennett gives you sod all towards rebuilding the team, except like for like and we need a top ender, not another middle order monkey.
-
That last sentence has to be the biggest concern. There is a genuine fear of another Brummies track closure after all the hard fight to bring it back. It's not just down to a poor side as the attendances wasn't hot when top of the table last season.
What It's the issues? Is there an answer to turn this around?
Same in any sport, people don't turn up to watch poor sides, offers are of limited help as it's still to watch the same side that put you off going the week before, offers help if you have something worth watching, but there's little point if the products not up to scratch, watching my team get thumped is deeply unattractive whether it's £15, £10 or £1.50.
Barker to be replaced and use the vacant double up spot for Covatti who's badly in need of it, convinced the kid has the talent, but is rusty as hell.
-
More likely the other way around - King hurriedly made a deal with Newc as soon as Kennet got the bullet, before Nico Covatti got himself a PL place!
Indeed, Kennett got the bullet because he ws s**t to the extent it puts more than a few long time supporters off turning up (admittedly it wasn't entirely his fault, but a new boy on his average getting 2 was always going to go first).
-
Why are Brum making this offer ? Could it be suggested they need a quick cash injection from the fans ?
I'd suggest trying to bring some of the crowds back that have drifted away with the poor team thus far, they might turn up for these two matches, but won't be back regularly until we track a better team, Covatti for Kennett was a start, but won't make much difference on it's own.
-
Do you think it was because he was on his old bike? Neither he nor Ben have beed hitting the scores since they went with Team Revolution.
Possibly, but if a certain type of equipment is solely responsible for such a disparity in performancei. I'd suggest they have a serious problem with it, certainly if reverting to 2013 equipment made the difference for DK, I'd suggest filing the 2014 bits in the nearest skip.
Oh yes there we go again, you were happy when he rode last year with a broken back for you giving 110 % all the time, but some of you have short memories.
To be blunt, speedway is a results business, people won't turn up to see garbage and without people the bills are not paid, how long can loyalty be given while the clubs losing fans and money ?.

That heat 13 line up is a perfect example of what a joke this sport has become at times and why people are turning away, a GP standard rider and Team GB regular against a PL standard Argie and NL kid
