  1. Tbh I feel Kennett would score well as a second string but I agree with your comment about Eddie being on a downward slope for the last 2 years.

Possibly, but we signed Nermark and Scornicki for those roles, and they are more than meeting expectation, Barker & King have a reliable history at Brum so it was always going to be Kennett to go first if he didn't perform.

What I'm trying to say is we have riders in the 6 point area catered for, we need higher and lower averaged ones really as I believe a well balanced side doesn't suit this new format anywhere as near as much as a top heavy one.

  2. Do you really think Kennett would continue to average 3 as a second string?

When was the last time he had a significant improvement in his average and performances ?, Eddies been on a downward slope for 2 years or more now, ask Coventry and Swindon, if he was that good why was he the proverbial last item on the shelf in winter ?.

  3. A six pointer scoring three from a heat leader spot is arguably doing a better job than a 4.5 guy scoring 3 as a second string.

As for a nine pointer - who do you suggest that brum can afford and that would be willing to ride here?

Still rather have the 2 points for more options for changes, in any case Kennet would have ceased to be a heat leader at the recent averages so that point is no longer valid.

Second question is less easy to answer, but Belle Vue pulled out Zagar when faced with the same problem.

  4. So, who has a spare £500 then ?................ yep that's what I thought!

Even those that could would have reservations it would not be squandered based on the last 12 months.

Bottom line is Phillips doesn't have the bank balance to make speedway pay, he can't get in decent riders meaning he can't get in a decent crowd meaning it's a struggle to pay the bills and in a circle back to the riders again, there needs to be an initial sum to get decent riders in and start the chain I've mentioned going, it's this lack of initial sum from Phillip's that's the issue.

I can't afford it even if I wanted to, and I suspect 95% of supporters will say that too.

  5. Oh just thought now we only have BB a a d/u rider does that mean nico can get a prem team now as well as ride with us ?

In theory yes, I suspect some will want to see how he goes for us before taking an interest however.

This season will make or break Covatti as he's had a full season racing in the UK in 2013, so should know what to expect.

  6.

Why do i have to have met Eddie to have an opinion?

The facts are that his average is still higher than Nico`s.

But Covatti will score more points per meeting than Kennett, so why have a bloke on a 6.5 average scoring 3, when your own asset in a 4.5 average can do the same or even slightly better ?, higher averages are rather meaningless unless the rider is living up to that average.

Taking the 2 or so points from replacing Kennett with Covatti, combined with points other riders have dropped means you have quite a few to play with if you make another change.

Yes it would be harsh to drop Nermark, but I'm not convinced there is enough bottle to drop King in all honesty, Barkers performance at Poole has probably saved him and Scorno is meeting expectation.

  7.

Oh dear Covatti is not the answer.

Have you not met Eddie Kennett then ?, someone with a vague hope of getting a point is an improvement.

I suspect there will be another change with a rider of a much higher average coming in, the new format seems to favour big hitters over strength through the order, so Covatti + ???? on a decent average for Kennett and Nermark/King seems logical.

  8. Google what? I'm new on here ? why would you laugh at that PO? and what's KKS ?

Does this thing go on a lot then?

I hate to see ANY rider get injured !

Struggling to see where your reply is relevant to my post you've quoted.

I was referring to a subsequent comment on the Brummies forum after the post you've highlighted.

Unless KKS has a particular fetish for posting frequently on the Brummies forum (and making sense too), I can confirm GiveuseaB is not him.

  9. Having recently read a post on my local team's forum? It was posted that a certain Poole fan was screaming out for his rider to fence the opposing riders at all costs???

I've got nothing against Poole, I admire their achievements and love watching their team in action, but I do take offence to this stupid and downright 'thick' attitude, that puts the danger of any fellow professional at risk!

I'm glad I wasnt there to witness this!!!

Tell me you didn't giggle though when someone suggested it was Shovlar

  10. man that has to be one of the best comedic posts you have written! Kildemand in particular scrapes the fence on most tracks and you class him as loving the inside lines!!! do you actually watch the sport at all.

next you will be telling us that Smolinski like Poole becaue he can ride the fence!

Poole track has one line - a foot from the fence

He's not wrong, Kildemand rides the dog track when he visits Perry Barr :o
