The thing is, people are having a go at these riders now but in a week's time when they go back to winning mediocre heats in the Elite (ha !) League then they will all be hailed as world beaters and heroes again which does them no favours at all.

Its on SS3 too

yes, Batch is about 1/100th of a second better than Tai currently.
Which translates into 5 points so far.....

what is it with these gate positions? Is one team always given so many 2 and 3's in the first part of the meeting? Surely they should be more evenly spread
Daft isn't it, but its luck of the draw re helmet colours. Russia get 6 Gate 1's by Heat 12 and then none for the rest of the meeting.
-
Tac sub in Heat 11 surely, can't afford to waste a Gate 1 on Bridger

What can I say - I just love, love, love Motorhead
First band I ever went to see and came out drunk, deaf and with no voice left - now that was a gig and a half
Wurzel went to the big gig in the sky this morning RIP

Why does the bloke doing the voiceover sound like he's in a cupboard under the stairs ?

There have maybe been better riders than Tomasz in terms of consistency but there is no doubt in my mind that he has been the most entertaining rider in world speedway for the least 15 years or so. For that reason I am delighted that he has finally won a world championship.

Craig Cook?
Craig is 23

I agree that speedway isn't in a position to call the shots, but to prevent access to all Virgin subscribers is taking Sky's competitiveness to a new low.
Sky own Virgin Media Television, they bought it earlier this year.
So everyone's a Sky customer, whether they like it or not !

They're showing all of it, it's just that after 7pm its on the red button.

& the winner was...Gate 1 ........Yep, 16 out of 23 heat winners from Gate 1 tells it's own story.

Has anyone stayed in the serviced apartments at the Landmark Centre before ? I've booked one and they sound nice but it's always best to get a second opinion.

Booked our tickets for the St David's Suite hospitality package today. It's part of the wife's surprise birthday present.
Well, she doesn't actually like speedway but I'm sure she'll enjoy the rest of the long weekend in Cardiff

Did other Team GB squad members such as Simon Stead and James Wright receive a call to say they weren't riding in Poland ?
If not then why does Nicholls think he should have got one - what makes him so special and more deserving than the others ?
Maybe that's part of his problem, his ego lets him believe he deserves special treatment and when he doesn't get it then his dummy goes flying.

There's pics of the track in this newspaper report, doesn't look too rideable to me...........

Bridger & King only contributed a point but no doubt they learned in one night what a season's worth of league racing would teach them. They are our future, not a GP struggler on the way down.Exactly.
In the end a couple of instances of over-exuberance and inexperience cost us a place in the final but it's a lesson they will learn from hopefully. Danny King for instance, and don't think I'm blaming him, had a comfortable second place in Heat 23 and should have sat on what he had which would have meant we still had a 1 point lead even with AJ's double points. Instead he went for glory and AJ manouvred him out to the fence in a very crafty move and he lost his momentum which meant he went from 2nd to 4th. A 1 point lead turned into a 1 point deficit. These are the things that the youngsters need to go through to make them better riders, to know when to chase and to know when to protect what you have. Yes we are all disappointed with the final outcome but that is only because we exceeded expectations in the first place - I doubt anyone on here would have predicted GB being in 2nd place in the meeting with only 3 heats to go.

Unless Harris learns how to gate then he's always going to struggle at GP level. When he does make a rare good start then he's very capable of mixing it with the best of them, but you can not afford to be 2 bike lengths down at the first turn at that level which he invariably is.

Plenty of 'disappointment at the back' thoughMeanwhile, the race leader was stretching his lead 'with every turn of his wheel'......

Keith Denham just been on Radio Cumbria saying its almost certain that Workington speedway will fold and not run next year. Says he can't stand the losses any more. Went so far as to say that he's already spoken to the BSPA about the possibility of closing down immediately.
