    Elite League 2014

It will, as ever, depend on who is asking!
  2. TV money 'distorts' the economics of the sport and can also be a malign influence regarding the introduction of 'gimmicks' (not all gaining universal fan approval). The promoters would do well to formulate their business models without reliance on TV monies (which may well not materialise anyway) - they also need to interact better with the their fan base.

    Lakeside 2014

I am sure the cost of regularly 'flying in' foreign based riders is a significant issue and reducing the number of same will go some way to reducing expenses. The key question will be - are there enough bodies around to to fill the spaces left? It is pleasing to note that the greater good of speedway is in Jon's mind rather than everyone acceding to the wishes/needs of a minority of clubs. Hopefully, the 'black and white' will be consigned to the dustbin of history.
  4. Given that he has 27,000+ of them , it should keep you busy!
  5. Given that it was probably the most controversial meeting ever broadcast by Sky, I would have thought you would have obtained a copy from somewhere. You would then be able to draw your own conclusions vis-a-vis a 'conspiracy' - the state of the track was only one of many issues that evening.
  6. Hopefully it will make up for all the ones you didn't get for the Aces v Pirates fiasco on Sept 9th!!
  7. But they would not have been there without it!
  8. I believe Neil Middleditch was asked the same question and responded 'What do you think'. The majority of posters do not share your opinion.
  9. No - I believe what most people wanted was 'fair play' . Had it not been Poole, the meeting would almost certainly not have gone ahead. As it turned out, all and sundry bent over backwards until the 'right' result had been achieved and another nail had been hammered into the coffin of integrity that is speedway today.
  10. It was a shambles on a wet track that got you to the play-offs in the first place!
  11. That is exactly what we had on 9 September last- not much 'consideration' was given that evening to 'decent racing' but, of course, everyone was working to a different agenda at that time!

    Sky 2014

Tsunami probably thinks the Aces v Pirates shambles was a good advert for speedway!

    Sky 2014

Well, if Sky were responsible, either wholly or in part, for 9th September at Belle Vue, then I for one, hope they push off never to return. The stink of corruption that evening was overwhelming.
  14. Tony Steele has a lot to answer for!
  15. In Gavan's defence, I believe the point he was trying to make were the double standards applied by Shovlar ranting 'cheat, cheat, cheat' at Kildemand whilst conveniently overlooking Ward doing exactly the same.
  16. I believe the word used was 'rideable' which is a far cry from 'raceable'. How many people would willing part with their hard earned cash to watch four blokes 'ride' round for four laps? The sport is called Speedway Racing.
  17. It wasn't 'other's' views we were hoping to get from you!
  18. Not much hope when the farce that was Belle Vue v Poole on 9 September last appears to have the 'blessing' of all that run speedway in this country.
  19. Synikalle - the first line of your post and the word 'independent' are not really mutually compatible. Exclude the 'ambassadors' from the two clubs involved in any controversy arising and you might have a better degree of independence.

    Nothing Changes

Given the lack of transparency in speedway BSPA/SCB - it is impossible to know whether or not proposals were made, voted upon/rejected etc. All we get is the 'compromise' arrived at for the season ahead. Those that run speedway suffer from a complete lack of faith in the people they most rely on to sustain their businesses - the fans. The fact there is never an explanation or reasoning given to decisions re rulings/appeals etc only fosters suspicion that there is indeed something to hide.
  21. Wolves v Poole - Heat 15 - Darcy Ward - ring any bells??
  22. Just get it to Heat 10 completed with Swindon 8 down and call it a day!

    Lakeside 2013

It was good to hear he was at the Swedish GP last Saturday - shame they couldn't manage an interview.
