  1. In the same way you are assuming they won't and the team in the 2nd leg will.
  2. Riding away in the 2nd leg is the sensible thing to do.
  3. Swindon shouldn't have anything to fear, after all Pooles top man can't beat a 52 year old Grandad
  4. So, lets say they win the first leg by 10 points, but the away team has used 2 TR's and won them both, you feel it would be unfair Swindon could use at TR in the 2nd leg because they haven't gone behind on aggregate? Your thinking is a little flawed there. You do have a point in that there is no need for TR's in playoff matches as it can create a situation where one side gets to use them and the other does not, creating an imbalance. The 2007? final between Reading and Peterboro being the most notable when I think Peterboro used 4 TR's to Readings 0 and won as a result. However, the rules are as they are, both side know in advance and teams will utilise the TR's as and when needed.

    Bryn Williams - Best Wishes

Who was he riding for? Get well soon.
  6. What do you mean by a 'free' tactical.
  7. I agree it was exaggerated, but in Ole Olsen's track preparing days, Gate 1 was almost always superior regardless of the format.
  8. Yes they can be used and no they won't be changed. They are the rules as per the start of the season. I agree that there is a good argument they are not necessary in 2 legged play off matches, however, any change like that should be made before team building commences.
  9. Pontus rode well last night. Nic was good when he gated, poor at the back (about par) but overall far better than earlier in the year. I wouldn't be averse to Pontus for the home leg, Klindt for the away, but suspect they'll go with continuity and book Klindt for both. If Ricky Wells can take last nights form into next week it could give Wolves the edge. Have Birmingham made the right call going for a big crowd v Wolves in the semi? Traditionally the semi gates aren't anywhere near as big as those for the final. Maybe as its a local derby that will be different. I am so pumped for next week now, love the play offs. Team speedway in front of a big crowd with a tense atmosphere, it gets no better! Bring it on!
  10. I don't think it was drawn out at all to be honest. There were 24 heats, and after the parade, Holder interview, Hancocks it didn't start till around 7:50?. The 2 mins were on for the next race before the heat results had been given out for the previous one all night long. The only gaps were after each set of 4 heats. Considering you had the 2 semis and a Final to sort out for I thought things were moved along very well. If league matches were run in such a fashion it would be much better.
  11. Hmm.. I'm sure I saw someone once who had worked out in terms of race pts Loram didn't score the most that year. He was fortunate in the system in operation at the time suited him, with 2nd place enough to progress each time. It was an awful system. Also was a contributory factor to some of Rikardssons world titles with him having the heavily favoured Gate 1 (as it was in almost every GP then) in potentially all of his races. I'm not suggesting T-Rick wouldn't have been World Champion in those years, but his job was made a hell of a lot easier. Based upon? Holder was some way behind at the time of his crash. Woffinden has outscored Ward in the GP's they have both contested. Plus he was leading Sayfutdinov at the time of Sayfutdinov's injury. Throw in the fact that Woffy himself suffered a nasty injury at Cardiff which cost him 4 rides, so a potential 8-12 pts.. and he is head and shoulders above the rest of the field this year. So Tai would have won by even more. Not the wisest of arguments you are putting forward. Funny how all these people are now claiming they backed him. Only a couple of us had the balls to say this at the start of the year. Incidentally, you were robbed if you only had 150/1.

    Wolverhampton 2013

He was well enough to fly home last week but still has a long road ahead. Has a metal rod in his back I believe.
  13. So they reduce fatalities and serious injuries. Job done.
  14. You don't need to be hit by a car to be killed when riding a bike. You can fall of a bike at very slow speed, hit the back of your head on concrete and be killed. It may not happen often, but it happens. Wearing a helmet will vastly reduce the chances of that happening.
  15. Seems folk are starting to see a few things that some of us have been saying for years...

    Elite League 2014

The decision is the correct one. It is the intial decision that was wrong. It appears though that corruption or incompetence rife within the sport has been well and truly exposed with these events. I really look forward to hearing some of the comments of the BSPA/SCB apologists who of course revelled in informing me I was wrong over the original decision (when I said Kings Lynn had done no wrong). They're faced with choosing whether their beloved governing bodies are either a: Incompetent or b: Corrupt.

    Riders Plucked From The Crowd

Going to make a concerted effort to get to KK's meeting, but I'll probably give up and coast back home not far in to the journey.

    Riders Plucked From The Crowd

Not quite sure what you mean here.. Age isn't and hasn't been a problem for PK. My point is that when a team like Wolves are faced with keeping two of Lindgren, Woffinden and PK, they are going to side with the younger rider.
  19. Then that is the fault of Eurosport and their inability to get the sound mix right.

    Tactical Rides

Sorry but you have completely lost me, you seem to be merging both the old Tac sub and the current Tac ride together.
  21. I fail to see where an event is held makes any difference whatsoever. I assume you expect BBC/ITV to show no bias towards England should they reach the World Cup in Brazil. Or show any bias when Europe are playing the US in the Ryder Cup on American shores. One person who doesn't get enough credit is Jacko. It's all well and good having the engine tuned but the setup on the night is just as crucial and Jacko, his chief mechanic will play a huge part in this. Totally agree with your assessment of the meeting, it was very poor racing wise. Not that I am too concerned at the moment, I'm just cheering Tai on.
  22. You must have been most annoyed when the commentators got so excited at British gold medals in the Olympics.
  23. A discussion forum seems to be the wrong place for you. Same tired old excuse.. trotted out everytime.. "Oh if bridger wasn't involved".. Well he was, just as he so often is.. that's the whole point. You haven't got a point. You're trolling to get Poole into the thread once again when its got nothing to do with Poole or Darcy Ward. The incidents are not even the tiniest bit similar either.
  24. Which riders do in every race, including riders like Hancock. However, the rider behind will normally back off and not try to ride through a non-existent gap. Emil was at fault.
