    Elite League 2014

Ah we have the typical excuses being trotted out here of people failing to follow simple instructions. Its YOUR fault if you exceed baggage allowance, you're told when you book, you're emailed about it over and over afterwards. Its YOUR fault if you don't print off your ticket. You're told when you book, you're emailed about it over and over afterwards. I agree with the charges, if people can't cope with simple things such as 'reading' then that's their own issue. I would rather pay £15 with the CHOICE of if I want to put baggage in the hold than pay £250 with British Airways and have the baggage in the hold thrown in. OK, I decide, I'll take the baggage, I'm still only paying £40. I fly regularly, used to be every other weekend for 3 years to Portugal and back. 98% of the times with Ryanair, I think I had 1 flight that was delayed more than 20 mins. 95% of them were either bang on time or early. I check in online, arrived at aiport about 50 mins before flight, no need to stand in a line, straight to security, board the plane, front row seat and away we go. 3 times had to fly with British Airways, more than 10 times the cost, one was cancelled, the other two were 3 hour delays. But hey, I got a meal! Standard practice on any flight I've been on, including international flight when went to Canada earlier in the year. I'd say it was negligent if they didn't do that. You can add up all the charges, pay for every extra service you need (which I would say 80% of passengers don't) and still pay less than 50% of the price more often than not of an equivalent BA/Lufthansa flight etc. For short haul standard class flights there's no difference either apart from the 'meal', which is more than countered by the greater probability of you being delayed.

Ah more claptrap I see. It's amazing how many people fall for the spin put out there by the British Airways of the world. Always amuses me that folk moan about Ryanair effectively giving them a choice of not paying for services you don't want.

Jacob Thorssell suspected broken arm. Could be a big blow to Wolves as he was in superb form, particularly at home. I think Klindt is too high so Pontus Aspgren the likely replacement? Best wishes of course to Jacob and hopefully the injury won't be as bad as feared and a replacement won't be needed.

Let's hope Agent Skornicki understands the job required

Steve, you keep harping on about his time at Poole. He had 2 matches, that's TWO matches directly after his injury. It's not like he rode for a couple of months and was a flop.

To an extent.. and as they are only on a couple of times a year it's a novelty. Still poor in the overall scheme of things.

It's another example of the lies and corrupt manipulation from Poole this season.

Stevebrum is going to be happy! I don't mind the signing to be honest, should do a decent job at No 2. Get his gating gloves on for the playoffs and we could be in business.

All this just beggars belief. It's just so simple, yet 14 years in they haven't grasped it. TV meetings should be at vastly reduced prices, even give away hundreds of free tickets. Pack the terraces. Make tv matches the ones to be AT not the ones to stay at home for. Very quickly you would find it a lot easier to attract sponsorship for tv meetings. A guaranteed big crowd in the stadium, a vibrant looking product being shown on tv. The sheep mentality would soon kick in, some of those sat watching at home will think they are missing out and look to go themselves... NOBODY is going to be attracted when they see one man and his dog watching the current meetings.

Spot on Oldace. Somehow they managed to take the most powerful marketing too of all and use it adversely. Takes some doing, but they did it.

    Tai Woffinden

40/1??? Where on earth were you looking. 200/1 was his price! Correct he was.

New Generation Who Will Push On.?

I do get what you mean and again you've said it again. You must be living on a different planet if you think Kasprzak is an example of a rider with 'character' that people pay to see.

Precisely the blinkered, closed attitude that has led the sport to be in the mess it is. Excuse after Excuse.

    'bumper Crowds'

And of course the total lack of imagination when it comes to promoting the meeting. For the same reason that speedway should want a big crowd. A large vibrant crowd will attract more viewers than one man and his dog watching.

    'bumper Crowds'

To be fair, he was simply responding to a personal attack from Tsunami.

New Generation Who Will Push On.?

Fair play to you for admitting that too Sidney. To be honest, although we disagreed at the time about some of the talent coming through I didn't expect it to be quite so fast. Really not sure what the poster above you is talking about. Sayfutdinov, Ward and Woffinden are 3 of THE most exciting riders on a bike the sport has had in a while. That is what people pay to see, not interviews! Quite where he gets Kasprzak from as being one of the must see 'characters' I do not know!

Not disputing this too much TNT. I think both would be a tad better than RR.. but not that much. Certainly nowhere near the level that Proctor was at before his injury.

    Wolverhampton 2013

So, Wolves have 5.78 to replace Ty Proctor with, so obviously any rider must come in on or below that figure. As we're hearing a lot of bleating about how badly RR is doing for Wolves, I figured, let's check out the reality of this. RR at home is averaging 5.86 Away it is averaging 5.82 Overall 5.84. So there is the crux, any rider brought in needs to be at the very least matching that, more ideally beating it. Would someone totally new, thrown in at No 2 do that? Maybe.. maybe not. We've seen Michelsen come in at Eastbourne and have a couple of good meetings but also a shocker at Lakeside (potential play off opponents). It would be safer to look towards established riders, like Nermark and Ljung. Yet they have averages of below 5.78 for a reason.. that's their level in the EL. Yes, they can have good meetings, but they'll also be awful in others. The simple reality is we are never going to be able to replace the scoring Proctor was providing at the start of the season. He was riding to an 8.5pt average, which is why we were so dominant. RR has simply been producing what Proctor would have been EXPECTED to produce. Given the injuries also suffered by Tai and Freddie, we've still done well to stay on contention. I remain confident that come the play-offs the team is capable of stepping up a gear and giving anyone a run for their money.

I know where you are coming from Steve. However last night they weren't out of form, they beat a very good Birmingham team. The play-offs aren't in August either, they're in September. No replacement for Ty was going to cover what he was scoring to be honest. I'd rather have the right signing later than the wrong one early. Time will tell if and when that happens. If they DON'T replace him, then I agree with all the comments. Let's wait and see.

    Wolverhampton 2013

Highly flawed TNT. And maybe the 'signing' would have scored less than 5 from 4 and been even worse. Folk seem to be expecting a 5.5 rider to come in and be averaging 8.

    Wolverhampton 2013

I'll take rr and be joint top of the league than have no rr and be also rans. It's not ideal, but the moaning is way over the top. Without Fred's absence on Friday we'd very likely be 4 pts clear. As it is the important factor is we get the RIGHT man in before the play offs. Should we not do that, go into the playoffs with RR and get beaten with ease then by all means its open season, right now I don't see anything to worry about.

    No mention of Woffinden??

    Why The Animosity?

Again Tsunami hits the nail on the head, but fails to realise it.. "An increasing number of this type of 'fan'" he says.. ignorant of why that number is increasing.
