  1. If it was AJ that wouldn't tie in with Steve's comment that it leaves BV and P'borough without a No.1
  2. Whether it is true or not I don't know but who of the riders on 8+ is left after KK signed for B'ham? Harris, Zagar and A....... Thinking about it, it doesn't seem likely because B'ham were given permission to talk to Andersen, hardly likely if he had alraedy signed for Coventry.
  3. 9:1, there are only 8 teams in the EL. Anyway surely all Coventry fans would support a club which fought for transparency and fairness.
  4. A No.1 is a rider who has the ability to compete on a level with and beat on a regular basis the top rider of opposing teams. Most experienced fans can identify who is who isn't a No.1. When BV ran in 2007 with Simon Stead as their best rider it was generally acknowledged that he was not a No.1 rider.
  5. I suspect that a club that can afford to pay Crump, KK and Andersen would be able to afford them, whether the club in question can I don't know. However, KK has gone to Brum, Andersen wants to be near his home. That leaves Zagar, rumour has it he was BV bound last year and changed his mind at the last minute so that will probably not make him top of the popularity list. Who knows what will happen. What was the name of the competition law expert?
  6. I am just pointing out that it would be better to decide it on a majority rather than give one club a veto.
  7. Would it not be a majority vote rather than just one club being against? I am not suggesting it would happen but BV for example might say; There isn't a decent No.1, other than Zagar, who we don't think is and who we don't want because of his allegded unreliability. We can vote in favour of letting Coventry and Peterborough back in and doom ourselves to another season at the bottom of the EL with no No.1 and more financial loss or we can keep them out and get Harris or Andersen. After all said and done they have caused the problem so why should we now suffer. On the other hand they might say, never mind that we will be the only real victims at the end of all this it is in the best interests of the sport, we will do what Coventry and Peterborough would do in our shoes.
  8. "we can confirm that all of the parties remain committed to resolving the matter amicably". Surely this must mean that the threat of legal action has been withdrawn. Is that becasue they never had a case, because the BSPA has given in to their demands or because they are all being adult and genuinely trying to find a way round the problems. Time will tell.
  9. The word "and" is the clue. Whether it is what he meant to say I know not but what he did say was, he could not endorse or justify the losses to stay in the EL AND that some of the new rules would serve to increase the losses. Having said that the important thing is for Peterborough to be in the EL next year and I hope that they are.
  10. Things are never that simple. What about if there is a compromise that gives Coventry something so that this can all be resolved. That would not be an admission of any wrongdoing by the BSPA, just showing that they are prepared to be reasonable to try to prevent Coventry fns losing out.
  11. As a BV fan I agree. I would not approve but if Coventry were to get all they want what is there to stop others who voted for the new rules walking out.
  12. If you mean the TV money then yes, but that is not a bribe, any team joining the EL would get that. Or are you suggesting there was something more?

    Croatian Gp

Well done to Harris, he showed what he can do, now he needs to maintain that form and keep in the top 8. I am sure he can do it lets hope there is some dirt on the remaining tracks. The Crump/AJ decision was ludicrous, the race should not have been stopped. Gollob and Holta, Gollob should have been excuded but I have some sympathy with the Ref because Holta had lifted and wasn't in control. So far as Hans is concerned people should realise that he is riding with one broken and two fractured fingers on his clutch hand and had been advised to rest for three weeks which perhaps explains his peformance today.

    Crumpie World Champion

Congratulations Jason. Triple World Champion, never out of the first three since 2001, a brilliant record which reflects what a superb and consistent rider he is.

World U21 Final 3rd October Gorican

Congratulations to Darcy, brilliant performance, see him first at KL on Monday, well done Patrick and hard luck Tai, although looks as if beaten fair and square in the run off.
  16. I agree. Trouble is those companies don't usually survive for too long. If you paid for an item that did not arrive or a service that was not provided you would not be happy to have to wait over two months for a refund, so why do the BSPA think that speedway supporters will find it acceptable. They do not seem to realise that this sort of behaviour will stop people going to Super 7 events in the future but then again they are not renowned for their forward planning or consideration of fans.
  17. See my earlier post. Not all GP riders, Crump and Adams always do their best to meet their british commitments. Some of the others are not so professional.
  18. 7.5 miles from the track it has been dry overnight apart from a couple of very light, quick showers within the last hour.
  19. We shouldn't tar everyone with the same brush. Some GP riders are fully committed to the EL, Adams and Crump rarely, if ever, let down British fans not only by always turning up but by their commitment in every race. Hardly surprising that they are two of the best and most professional riders in the world. Perhaps some of the others could learn and then they might step up to true world class. The BSPA should ban anyone who does not have a sufficient excuse. It should be part of a British contract that they ride in the ELRC and pairs if they qualify with long bans for non compliance. As always it is the fans that suffer.
  20. Thanks. According to Rob on the Aces unofficial site Steve has not yet had the result of the scan but is riding with his shoulder heavily strapped and is taking pain killers. Hope he does well.
  21. do we know yet if Steve Boxall is riding?
  22. All we know at the moment is what appeared on Nicki Pedersen's website. If true, then the point is that it must at the very least cast doubt on whether the final was a genuine race, with everyone trying their best to win, or, would an agreement to share equally the £60,000 have the effect that one or more of the competitors did not try as hard as they would have done if it was winner takes all. In my view, again if true, it must cast that doubt. The consequence is not only to devalue that race but also to adversely affect the credibility of the sport in general and to bring it into disrepute.
