  1. Travel Plus tours website now online www.tptours.co.uk
  2. Thanks for that info Sir Matty, do you have contact details for Travel Plus and do they have a website by any chance? Which tours did you go on with them? They shall do very soon. Watch this space.
  3. In Speedway Star today. Round 1 - May 1 - Germany Round 2 - May 15 - Poland or Germany Round 3 - May 29 - Stockholm, Sweden Round 4 - June 12 - Cardiff, Britain Round 5 - June 26 - Copenhagen, Denmark Round 6 - July 10 - Krsko, Slovenia WORLD CUP BREAK Round 7 - August 21 - Gothenberg, Sweden Round 8 - September 4 - Prague, Czech Rep. Round 9 - September 18 - Poland or Germany Round 10 - October 2 - Hamar, Norway Interesting that Slovenia remains after Dryml's crash and what his dad said. Where could the German GP(s) be held? My vote goes for the fantastic Olympic Stadium in Munich. One Poland is almost defineatly going to be Bydgoszcz. What about the second, if there is a second as it could be the German 2nd GP instead! Instead of a second German GP, I think another country e.g Italy (Lonigo) could have been introduced, or maybe Russia and we could get Roman's millions out of Chelski and into speedway lol!

    SWC reduced to 8

Yes, top team from each qualifier into Final, next two into Last Chance. Top two from Last Chance to Final. There will also be two separate Preliminary Rounds for non-seeded teams. The top team in each will qualify for the Final Tournament. I haven't heard anything about the heat format, but I heard the Joker may have gone (and about time too). Wouldn't the sensible option be to have the old 4TT WTC format for the meetings so that it is more of a team event...........Hang on, I said sensibe therefore it will never happen in speedway

    SWC reduced to 8

Quite a few people care, its not all about what you want
  6. Small bit in the 'every picture tells a story' section of the Daily Mail with a picture from the Wembley world final in 1955 and a bit about the memorial service for Craven.

    2004 GP Wild Cards

I never said it would have been fair on the other guys or that shultz should get one. Yes Matej won the continental final the first year but imo there were better riders to be seeded the year after (notably Joe Screen)

    2004 GP Wild Cards

This forum seems to be full of intelligent posts like these nowadays  The reason I put Matze Schultz into the equation was for the same reason Ferjan got in a few years back.
  9. Eureka I've got it lol! Regular 20 heat format. (Backwards so that riders seeded 1-4 meet in heat 20 instead of 1) Then a B final (5th to 8th) with riders scoring points 4,3,2,1 to add to their totals. And then an A Final with points 8,7,6,5. I ran it with speedway meeting and it works lol
  10. It definatly works. If the points the rider scores in the meeting are those which go to their totals eg 15, 13. Then every point is vital and with only 15 riders in it all season they will all be going for the title as every point could be the difference between victory and loss. You'd need to change the first round of heats as you'd end up with the top 4 riders in heat 1 together. Prehaps when seeding the riders they go in an order like this. 1, 5, 9, 13?
  11. Great idea imo. Less Riders = less distruption to gb league More rides for each rider Only riders in it to win it The prize money shared between 16 instead of 24.... Less riders to transport to gps outside of normal speedway countries. Its a great idea and makes it much more difficult to win as there will be 15 riders all in it to be world champion.

    GP format

A simple way of doing it is indeed the 16 rider format. You could have 16 regular GP riders and the bottom 2 from the previous GP race-off with the wildcards, the top 2 take place in the event, the last 2 become wildcards. After the regular 21 (inc race-off was 15 & 16) have a semi final (3rd - 6th) with the winners meeting the top 2 in the final. Points in the final itself are added to the totals but doubled. This rider total is then how many points they scored in the GP. For example: Crump - 3,3,3,3,3,6 = 21 Rickardsson - 3,1,3,2,3,4 = 16
  13. Haven't heard of it but it would solve all the problems the Elite League has as well as making the GP a more 'Elite' Group with 16 riders all capable of actually winning a GP. I'd say its a good idea. 14 regulars and 2 wildcards?

    Czech Golden Helmet

He was pretty pleased to beat Bo as well as beating Ondrasik and Franc in the overall standings. I really do believe Lubos can go far (I'm not being biased). He has the right attitude towards his racing and from what I could see against the Isle of Wight when he scored 7+3, the oxford fans have already taken him to heart.

    2004 GP Wild Cards

My view is that if the German GP is in Berlin then a German rider shouldn't be needed as a large number of Poles could easily travel there. I also think that next season, riders shouldn't need to ride in both the qualifying and GP series. Instead, a GP challenge should be run with - 12 Non-Qualifying GP riders Next 4 From GP Qualifying meeting World Under 21's 1st and 2nd Top 6 Wildcards/Reserve riders from the GP series. That would make a meeting like this, this year line-up as Lukas Dryml Piotr Protasiewicz Mikael Max Tomasz Bajerski Lee Richardson Hans Andersen Bjarne Pedersen Mark Loram Todd Wiltshire Bo Brhel Jason Lyons Kris Cegielski ---- Joonas Kylmakorpi Simon Stead Rafel Dobrucki Billy Janniro ---- Jarek Hampel Rafel Szomberski ---- Peter Karlsson Ronni Pedersen Tomas Topinka David Howe Peter Ljung Roman Povazhny Then the next riders in qualifiyng final coming in to replace those who are injured/retiring.

    2004 GP Wild Cards

OK, Top 10 Jason Crump Nicki Pedersen Tony Rickardsson Leigh Adams Tomasz Gollob Greg Hancock Scott Nicholls Ryan Sullivan Rune Holta Andreas Jonsson Qualifiers Piotr Protasiewicz Bjarne Pedersen Bo Brhel Ales Dryml Jesper Jensen Kaj Laukkanen. That Leaves out Lukas Dryml Mikael Max Tomasz Bajerski Lee Richardson Hans Andersen Mark Loram Todd Wiltshire - Retiring Peter Karlsson Jason Lyons Kris Cegielski - Injured Ronni Pedersen That qualified 16 works out like this. DEN - 3 AUS - 3 POL - 2 CZE - 2 SWE - 2 FIN - 1 GBR - 1 NOR - 1 USA - 1 The fact that Denmark has 3 qualifiers may force Hans Andersen out. Loram & Nicholls should probably get seeded as Britain only has Scott, but Cardiff does not rely on fans supportting the Brits as say Poland does so both may not be neccassery business wise. As the biggest Speedway Nation I expect Poland to get two of these nominations. Most definatly Bajerski and Hampel, especially after Jarek showed what he could do in Bydgoszcz. I expect Sweden to gain another rider, especially with two GP's there this season. I expect that they will get one place which will be a battle of the brothers, however neither have shown their true form in the GP's this year but I don't really see anybody in Sweden who is ready for the GP's yet (Plenty ready in a few years tho). The next place is most definatly going to go to Lukas Dryml. Despite there being 2 qualified Czech's already. As for the final place, who knows! My 6 Lee Richardson Mikael Max Tomasz Bajerski Lukas Dryml Jarek Hampel ??????? Last place between Hans Andersen Mark Loram Peter Karlsson Tomas Topinka Matej Zagar Billy Janniro Matze Schultz (German Champion) Remember, this is my opinion.
  18. How about a meeting in GB during June at a proper speedway track. and then Cardiff as the season ender. Having 2 meetings in GB at Cardiff and Glasgow would force most fans to choose one or the other, thus halfing the attendance.
  19. That's probably how I'd call it as well. Chorzow looks like a no no after a poor crowd this year and the extra proper track at Wroclaw makes it more of a balanced series. Munich would be my choice as I said but Berlin is more likely to get the nod because it is closer to Poland and therefore more likely to attract a higher crowd.
  20. They don't have to 'fail' all it needs is a rubbish gate draw for them in the semis and tony to win the gp.

    Jason or Nicki?

I can see it now. Nicki and Jason in the A Final. Winner takes all and........................ Crump's bike drags him into the tapes! Go Nicki!!!
  23. I'm pretty sure the rules were a race-off a few years ago as it was possible it could happen. Can anyone comfirm the rule? Another possibility is Tony 25 and Jason 13 puts them equal with 2 wins each i think
