None of them making it to the main event.Matej Zagar won his first two races by a street before drawing gate 3 twice in the main event.
Rico
I did say in brackets with some exceptions.

I reckon the qualifiers will be3. Bjarne Pedersen DK
5. Charlie Gjedde DK
8. Piotr Protasiewicz PL
9. Lukas Dryml CZ
10. Tomas Topinka CZ
12. Peter Karlsson SE
With Billy Janniro then qualifying along with Jesper Jensen as IMO Protasiewicz and Dryml will make the GP top 10

Yeh I think Hamar might be Bjorn Hansen and Joonas?
Most of the wildcards this year (with a few exceptions) have been a complete waste of time. None of them making it to the main event.
In the past we had Loram and Dugard win 1. Pedersen and Holta made the Semi's when they were wildcards.

The line for the Scandinavia GP is on the link below. From the World Speedway website
http://world.speedway.org/wc/i/6.sdf
Nice too see that they picked Peter Ljung & David Rud as wildcards
As its the Scandinavian GP, I think Joonas Kylmakorpi should have been given the chance.

Who's idea was it to drop Bjerre/Iversen and bring in Ronni Pedersen?? That superb tactical move cost the Danes the World Cup
-
I Predict
Aussies 66
Poles 53
Danes 52 (Dropping Kenneth and Puk will come back to haunt them)
Brits 43
Swedes 36 (Without Rickardsson they will struggle.

Derwents spreadsheet for the 5 rider meeting is here -
http://www.btinternet.com/~n.c.haines/swc5.xls
If the address doesnt work. Tell me and I'll try and fix it.
The line-ups on the spreadsheet are the same 1-5's as the qualifiers but we are expecting changes so dont go printing it off yet!
-
Just in the process of creating my programme for tonights meeting but can't find the line ups anywhere. Are they the same as the qualifiers or has there been any team changes ? Does anybody know ?BTW, if anybody would like a copy (its excel spreadsheet, proper speedway programme format) then let me know and I'll send you a copy. Once I've found out what the teams are that is !
I'd like a copy of your spreadsheet
Once you have worked out the teams send it to thaines@btopenworld.com and I'll put it on the net so everyone can download it.

You have an excellent site for the Tomaceks, sorry I couldn't contribute to your update Ive only just joined the forum.Tomacek grandfather rode in England in 1967 and 1968 with Red Star Prague, who were popular visitors in club challenges. In 1968 they rode seven and lost seven, Tomacek scoring paid 21 from 21 starts. Lubos's grandfather rode at Oxford on 14 August 1968 just weeks before his death - I didn't see this meeting but its well remembered by others. Afraid I dont have the details for 1967 to hand, though I might have some programmes somewhere. There are some photographs of these tours with pictures of Tomicek on the Speedway Imagebank site.
The boy Lubos is a great prospect!
Thanks,
What is the address of the Speedway Imagebank?

My ideal team
Studio - Jonathan & Stekkers
Commentary - Ben Edwards (Does C4) & Chirs Louis
Pits - Sophie/Julia.
Then for GP's they should bring in the odd other guest with Heuwen at the helm. Prehaps bring in somebody like Graham Stuart in the GP Studio.

I have added some old photos of Lubos' grandfather to his site. Shame nodody contributed anything.

How can a GP be run on a track where the medical team appear to not know what they are doing?
I know for a fact that if such an incident happened at Cardiff, the St John's boys and girls would be straight on track concerned only with helping the rider rather than filling out stupid forms and arguing.
Very worrying that this has happened, lets hope Lukas gets better soon ready to take his place at Gothenberg.

As you all probably know I run Lubos Jnr's website. On there we have a Tomicek history with details of both his Grandad and Dad. All we have though is info from Lubos himself and it would be nice to expand that section with some info/accounts/details from people who watched them ride. Thanks in advance to those who post something.

Not having been before I wonder if anyone can tell me if the programmes have been good value for £5?I have had a programme every year so far. I think they are expensive for what you get but I think its nice to keep and there is some good stuff in them. It definatly aint worth £8 though. I dont think they will be that much. I think they will be £5 again.
The best value thing you can get is that pink paper they sell all about speedway its usually only about 50p I cant rember what its called but I had one, one year that I went and it had some good information it in. But it doesnt have the gp fill in bit. :-(
If just want the fill in bit for the gp speedway star is definatly ur best bet though.
COME ON DAVID !!!!!!!!!!!
Pink Paper????
GO BOMBER HARRIS!!

The sad world of British Speedway would put the poor guy on an 8.00 average in the EL though wouldn't it? Cos he rode in the GP.
Incidently, I saw a while back that Tomasz Bajerski. (New Polish GP rider) was listed on a KL website as having ridden for them on a 4.00 average. Therefore he would be able to return to EL on a 4 or even PL on an 8 if he impresses in the GP?
-
IMO the GP Reserve system should be changed. If Loram is injured then the next best Brit from qualifying (Howe) should replace him.
Next best Swede (Karlsson)
Next best American (Janniro)
etc. etc.

prague tickets?
in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Posted
Well thats what we did, another way is to buy tickets when you are there but thats risky as half of Poland descends on Prague and all buy tickets. It was a sell-out last year.
