The scores of Wells and heeps with lambert for the home side sum things up yesterday really.

The paramedics being late allowing the rain to hit probably didn’t help.

the rain made no differnce to the meeting or the score,

Shame John Campbell acted the clown and got the ref to inspect the track, what a complete fool he made himself look, even the visiting riders seemed shocked at his actions

Josh Pickering is a joy to watch around Scunny, love that kids style

In theory yes they can, as all team declarations are subject to approval as being ‘in the best interests of the sport’.....

indeed, but on what grounds?,the Bates family own both clubs and are free to do what they wish to their teams as long as in withinn the rules of team building,i fail to see what  the MC can actually do about it

wether team changes are right or wrong, remains to be seen, but  changes are the Bates family`s call,if that what they think is in the best interest of the two clubs they own[at considerable personnal cost] then that is their business, not the MC`s

and for the record,If i was a Lions fan id be quite happy!!

    very strange very very strange

Sedgeman not ridden for months Kurtz binned off by Somerset out of form.

Proctor has been smashing in better scores and form in both Leagues for past few weeks.

Leicester in Shield Final look sure to be in Play Offs need rider whose average Proctor best fits.

"Robbing Peter to pay Paul" or "robbing one Bates to pay another Bates".

IF Proctor ends up at Leicester it will bring Sport in to further disrepute and ridicule.

No doubt one for the Management Committee to look in to

Oh hang on....."Bates and Bates and Godfrey :o

what exactly has the management committe got to do with that? can the actually stop the move when no actual rules have been broken?

It's wrong not to spread the dodgy fuel round the whole team,  must do better guys

Never mind spreading it around the whole team, its just plain wrong they dont sell it to the other team mid meeting, that simply greedy of the Glasgow riders Paulco:nono:

hope you had a safe drunken trip home!

  5. An enjoyable meeting last night and Congratulations the the Tigers on a fine win, really good team performance by them from 1 to 7,got the job done

Reading some excuses on here is amusing,Fuel, track etc, never heard such Rubbish, The tigers did what they had to do and Ayres and Lambert were poor, its a simple as that

Id even go as far as saying had the track been grippy we would have got thumped by more than two points

on another note, bit of a naughty move by cook in HEAT 15,least he could have done was go check on Auty,i dont think it was as dirty as it looked really, more a simple mistake coming out  the corner, least he could have done was checked he was ok

Any chance Glasow could leave Jensen at the EWR?

    Well done Glasgow

  6. Some excellent racing last night on a well prepped race track, best `` rider`` on the night was the Wedcar TM,played the limited cards he had to perfection

Hope the Charles Wright is ok after what looked a nasty spill

Luckiest guy driving home last night was Danny Ayres, how he avoided a huge one in heat 3 i`ll never no,that was a naughty naughty move by Kasper Andersen,to ride across some one full speed down a straight at full speed  is shocking, luckily both avoided the deck

Redcar is still a great place to watch speedway

Some good points here Montie but....

"1 Godfrey doesnt have the power to do as you say,the MC does,so jointly make a decision"

Not the case. Godfrey may be the ' on call ' member of the management team and can make decisions there and then and often has, with repercussion's later. He has even ignored SCB ruling decisions in the past ' for the good of the sport ' as he says.

    .

totally correct, but an ``on call`` member doesnt make calls like  to take out a complete set of fixtures for an other team,

more  there to make quick decisons on averages etc etc,and with most issue like this sorted beforehand i guess the ``oncall `` member has very little to do

  Bloody hell that line made me laugh ...........so Godfrey took it on his chin last season when he stopped Workington, Lakeside, Peterborough riding on a Friday as too many clubs were riding and he couldn't get suitable guests for his depleted team by injuries  So we all ended up with 5-6 weeks gaps , crippling the crowds and racing fixtures on a Monday, Tuesday ,Wednesday in bloody October !!!   He gained nothing last season in fact these were 3 teams that made the play-offs and one team scooped the "Treble" , he might gain 3-4 away points tonight against a weaker Redcar team but that's about all he gain :approve:

Best of luck Redcar would love you to pull off the win B):t:

i know you love a good theory but

1 Godfrey doesnt have the power to do as you say,the MC does,so jointly make a decison

2 looking back, you moan about fixture gaps,,,,,, this was the case  in the previous season and Worky[2017],whos fault was that? RG also,?

3 The fridays you wanted to run,you also had alot of riders missing due to Danish champs,U21 and other fixture clashes, and tell me,when the Mighty Comets visited Glasgow last year,am i right in thinking you turned up with a NL rider as couldnt get a guest due to teams riding on a Friday?

And for the record, personally i didnt agree with the decison to stop the Comets riding on a friday,it was wrong, and shouldnt have happened, but when you look at the shortage of riders regular Friday teams had, and yourselves on the chosen fridays,i can see why it was made

Back to this evenings fixture,my 10 year old asked why Scunny are sh yte away from home,i cant say i replied,so im taking him to see for himself................and looking forward to the trip[excatly what speedway is about]

but its all in the best interest of speedway , as they say ..

is there a thread anywhere on the Champioship section on this forum where you dont act the twit?

Godfrey declined to move the fixture.

Why is that difficult to believe?

He knows Redcar are short and he knows he has a great chance of winning so he's stuck to this date even though he was offered other dates that are not Friday's so wouldn't deny him a home date.

He is hardly Mr. Squeaky clean and has previous for using ever trick in the book to benefit himself/ his club and many will say that's how it should be. Redcars promoter is new and has yet to learn the ' dark side ' .

why is it anything to do with any other promotion that the moghts Bears sign riders who will miss fixtures?

that is the risk Redcar took when signing Riss, its no ones fault other that Redcar, they are not stupid people who run Redcar and decided that the signing of a rider of Riss ability was worth it

i guess this wont be the only Friday that this situation comes up

    any cloud spotted yet?

If Scunny are ever going to be play off challengers then I'm afraid for next season Auty will have to go,  perhaps a different track will help his career as the EWR track seems to be the only one he can win races anymore,

didnt we win the payoffs with Josh in the team once?

first base for any season,,,,,win your home meetings

I have championed Scunthorpe as an excellent track for a very long time.

The real issue is that he is now insistent that track grading is not necessary.... and that I totally disagree with.

with Scunny now being run slick,is there any point in Grading the track if theres nothing on it?

also,a point worth mentioning,if friday night was only the second time the track has been graded this season, then they should delfinatly not grade it,as the racing this year has been on the whole very good

the meeting against the Sheffield the previous week was excellent, yet i never saw a tractor come out once

Appalling meeting at a track that has been high in my regards for a long time.

Cannot agree with Rob’s mindset of not grading the track.

He openly bragged that that was only the second time that the tractor had been on the track this season.

I will not be back again

if you stop going to a track due to one average meeting, may i ask which track you actually visit?

  15. Firstly best wishes to Zaine Kennedy,if he got away with that hes a lucky lucky kid

what a fanastic meeting, scoreline doesnt really show how close the racing was and both teams having a go

Auty was simply outstanding and i just hope he never learns to gate,

Got to give credit to Howarth,he didnt put a food wrong all night but didnt get the points he deserved,he just happened to come up against Auty 3 times

The racing was decent but the scunny riders need some dirt on the outside. Kinsley is capable of beating some quality riders like Scott Nicholls but on the track like that he was second best to the fairly weak Somerset reserves.

you are 100% correct in what you say but the lad needs to  learn to adapt to track conditions, flailing around the outside on Friday was a waste of time,The lad  needs to learn to use other parts of a race trace and he will become a tidy rider in this league

on the whole hes had a decent start to the season though to be be fair, hes down what is expected
