  1. Thanks for that Humphrey you have summed up perfectly the mentality in the British Leagues. Blame everything you can before actually looking for ways around it. You blamed the weather, the road system, the number of meetings, the stadium rental system. Just about everything you could possibly conjure up, yet after all that blaming the sport is still where it was before it. So yet again alot of hot air and nothing done to fix the fixture clashes.

Lets take Edinburgh and Glasgow for instance. 4 meetings a season between the two clubs for nothing more than a challenge exhibition. That could be 4 league meetings. Or half of our PT qualifiers. We dont need a Spring Trophy and a Scottish Cup. I cant think of a single club that doesnt have some form of micky mouse trophy taking up space in a season. That could infact be used to stage more meetings. Meaning more space in the calendar to work around FIM meetings and the like.

EDIT Just like to point out that this was not a personal attack on you Humphrey. More a generalised observation of how the BSPA and British Speedway as a whole is run

  2. Great !! even more disruption to racing in this country then next year and this time probably affecting the PL as well. Presumably SGP & the FI whatever are really looking to kill the sport off here.

Sorry but i cant agree with you here. If anyone is killing off speedway in the UK its the BSPA and the promotions. Every other league manages to run meetings on one race night and keep it away from GP fixtures and World Cup fixtures etc. We seem to be the only ones who spread racing over a whole 7day period and complain about everyone else but ourselves when we have riders missing due to a certain competition. Maybe if the BSPA etc got together and agreed to make a season work using only 2 maybe even 3 nights we wouldnt have to use R/R as much and wouldnt have riders missing for FIM meetings all over the place.

  3. Hmm, whereas in the alternative universe you live in, apparently Lee Richardson IS a world beater!!!!

I think you're being a little harsh on Iris. This is Denmark or Poland we are talking about. There isnt an endless sea of talent. When it comes to picking a "Brit" to ride at the GP level you dont really have much choice. 3-4 guys max therefore you are bound to start seeing the same names etc. Also as mentioned Lee is proving he can score at the top with his continental form.

  4. Worrying this  - Snyper1010 - I find myself agreeing with you 100%. You are absolutely SPOT ON!! :approve::approve:

Im glad we finally agree Ian.

Going off topic a little here do you (everyone as a whole) think that the GP series makes somone less of a champion than a on the night winner of a world final? Giving that the pressure as mentioned is reduced due to it being a season long event and not a one off. I hope im getting my point across here.

Do you think Nikki P would be 3 times World Champ under the old system, or do you think that he would have allowed his hot temper ruin a one of final?

  5. Agree but under the old one off system was it easier to be World Champ,Id say it was.I mean would Egon Muller ever have been World Champ under this GP system.

Wasnt really a "one off" was it. I mean there was qualifiers to be won to actually be there. So the riders that did take part in the "one off" final were all there on merit. Shame the same cant be said for todays GP series.

  6. Snyper, it's obviously Ryan Fisher.

    All the best

    Rob

He aint retired or deceased yet ;)

It can be riders from either format. But i would have to agree that Leigh Adams has long been of World Champion quality. Do you really feel its his "nice guy" personality that has let him down as people sometimes say or do you think there is more to it than that?

  7. Ok i aint sure if this has ever been done and if it has i apologise. But being halfway through the "Tragedy" book about Kenny Carter i got thinking who people would class as the best rider never to actually be World Champion. So i was thinking that we could name who we think it was and if you wanted you could maybe put your own reason/thoughts/analysis as to why said rider never got their hands on the most sought after prize in speedway.
