    Woffiden Not Riding Tuesday

Although he probably doesn't deserve it I think Freddie will get a wild card as I can't see the Swede's settling for just one rider in the GP, unless of course another Swede is given a wild card. Personally I think it is very poor of Woffinden not to ride in this meeting - it has been in the fixture list all season so he would have known it was there. He really owed something to the fans for his poor form this year. Yes unfortunately that is true - I was there as well - very poor way to treat a rider who has been a great servant to the club for so many years. Wolfie

    Wolverhampton 2015

Is there really any need to pass such a comment on one of the greatest riders to wear a Wolves Race Jacket? Total lack of respect - why am I not surprised? Wolfie
  4. If you were there you would have heard what Robbo said - his view concurred with most of the fans on bend one. Stayed until heat 6 - looked like it would take a time to sort out Greenwood's crash so decided to call it a night as the racing in the second match was no better up to that point - it does sound as though the action off track spiced things up.
  5. Were you there? If you were you would have seen Andersen complaining in the pits about the track along with other home riders. Robbo was interviewed and described the track as being very tricky. Riders were two wheeling into the bends and struggling to turn the bikes. I'm well used to seeing Wolves well beaten but when there is nearly half a lap between the race winner and riders finishing last it tells you something. Robbo was unbeaten going into heat 15 and had looked the best Coventry rider but he missed the gate in heat 15 and was nearly the length of a straight behind at the end of the race. I am certainly glad I don't have to watch "racing " like that every week - and it seems the Bees fans are getting sick of it too as they seemed to vote with their feet tonight - the crowd looked to be around 800 at most which is maybe a testament to the rip off admission fee. Wolfie
  6. Rubbish meeting on a rubbish track - no excuse to prepare a track like it was tonight with the weather as it has been. No entertainment and no racing to speak of. Thank goodness it is the end of the season. Wolfie

CVS seemed to imply that this was a rider already based in Britain and not one who wants to return or try the EL Wolfie

PK has clearly been struggling machinery wise over the last few months of the season, and that surely hasn't been helped by having Paul Hurry as his mechanic. Watching Hurry in the pits at Eastbourne it was clear that he hadn't got much of a clue what to do to rectify the engine problems. Next year on decent machinery and with a decent mechanic PK will be different I am sure. Wells has been too much of a liability away from home - there is a reason why his average is only 6ish when he has been posting high scores at home. Wolfie
  9. Totally agree SCB - he shouldn't have been in the re run anyway. Referee bottled it twice. Wolfie

Is there any truth in the rumour that Great Ormond Street are so worried about the Wolves team tonight that they are having an apeal fund set up for us? :D Wolfie

Poole Pirates Vs Wolverhampton Wolves 3/9/2014

A great meeting - certainly one of the best I have seen at Poole - the racing was excellent. Thanks to Bomber and Rory for sterling work - shame Jacob had his two engine failures when he did otherwise the score could have been even closer. It would have been a travesty if Wolves hadn't picked up a consolation point from the meeting. Wolfie

Swindon V Wolves Thursday 4th Sept

I missed the A fixture as I was recovering from ill health, and as I always like to visit each track at least once a year I shall be there with Lefty - in all truth I would have probably been there anyway It is such a let down after such a great performance at Poole on Wednesday. Hopefully this is another wake up call for the promotors and shows them that we need to form a British league from riders who can commit to all meetings over here. Wolfie

    Wolves V Leicester 1/09

Hope the Pawlicki and Jepsen Jensen situations are a wake up call and the promotors take a hard line with foreigners who treat Britain with contempt over the winter. Time for a total rethink. Wolfie

    Coventry Bees 2014

Well done to Coventry for taking a stand on the Jepsen Jensen situation. Its a shame more clubs don't do this. Just another reason why we should form a league without such foreigners who treat Britain with contempt. Wolfie

    Wolverhampton 2015

Would be a total waste of time as they would both want to miss the same matches as likely to have the same commitments overseas. That is the main problem I see with any job share between top riders. Wolfie

    Wolves V Eastbourne 25/08/14

The crash on Saturday night completely knocked the stuffing out of the Wolves team together with the crowd near where I was standing. The delay of an hour while Tai was attended to also completely ruined the atmosphere on what was building up to be a good meeting. If Eastbourne aren't able to beat Wolves on Monday with R/R and the current run of poor home form then I don't think they will ever win away again. Much will depend on which Pedersen and Kylmakorpi turn up and if Newman can reproduce his good from from his last visit, but I will be most surprised if Wolves manage to win this one. Wolfie

    Eastie V Wolver 23 August

It was indeed very strange. I was stood on the crown of the first and second bends. From where I was Tai looked to exit the bend and just kept on accelerating - no shutting off , he didn't try to swerve away from the fence at all and didn't appear to hit a rough patch of track. The only explanation I could think of was that maybe his throttle had stuck open or there had been some other form of mechanical failure. Thank goodness his injuries are not as bad as they might have been from such a high speed impact. Wolfie While at the meeting I received a text through from someone who had been watching the match on the Bet 365 feed. He texted to say that Peter Adams had been interviewed and had told Bet 365 that they thought Tai had injured both of his forearms and one of his wrists - thankfully the injuries are not as bad as that - but Peter Adams would seem to be a pretty reliable source of information from where the potential broken arm injury began. Poole Vs Leicester 20/08/2014

The Leicester side is another indication of why a complete rethink is needed regarding the EL. Basically the EL is dying on its feet - we need a total restructure - get rid of riders who won't or can't commit to the UK and form a bigger league with more variety. Wolfie

    Wolves V Leicester (18/8/14)

If the reason for his absence was other than illness then the situation has been compounded as he is clearly lying - better to be up front and admit the real reason. Either way he has shown utter contempt for the club and its fans over the last two meetings - he can't be trusted to turn up anymore. As good as his season has been it is time for a parting of the ways - once - the Leicester match - may have been excusable - but he has done twice in succession now so time for him to go. From the lack of people on the terraces last night it was clear that his decision not to bother turning up had a an effect on the crowd. Time to get rid of the foreign riders who can't or won't commit to Britain and form a bigger league without them. On a different tack it was interesting to hear Woffy talking to Porky after the meeting last night - he at last admitted to his lack of points being the major reason for our inability to reach the play offs - perhaps some of the fans' comments are finally getting through - if he does decide to ride in Britain next year let's hope he doesn't take on so many activities outside speedway. Wolfie

    Wolves V Leicester (18/8/14)

P**s and Take are the two words that come to mind. The top riders have shown they don't want Britain anymore and even if we changed race nights to suit them they would find an excuse to miss out. Time to stick our two fingers up at them and form a bigger league with more variety without them. Wolfie

Berwick Vs Edinburgh 12/8 Live On Sky

Really hope Matt Wethers is ok. I have liked Matt ever since he rode for the junior team at Wolves when he first came over. He has always battled hard when he has ridden for Wolves and never let us down. Really hope he makes a speedy recovery from his injuries. Crashes like that really do put into perspective a lot of the stupid arguments that take place on the forum. Wolfie Bob Dugard at Eastbourne has been grading the gates used by the home riders for years - referees always seem to have a blind eye turned when those things happen

    Leicester V Wolverhampton 9 Aug

The fact remains he won't ride for Wolves in any of our Saturday night meetings this year. The "sick note " farce from Saturday shows he has no respect for Wolves or their fans, nor British Speedway. It is impossible for anyone to defend such actions - he has undone in one act all the good he has achieved over the year. Wolfie

    Leicester V Wolverhampton 9 Aug

Fair play to Norrie Allen for his comments on the mike after the meeting - just stating what everyone is thinking. Will be interesting to see if he is proved correct Wolfie By far the best meeting I have seen at Leicester - probably 5 or 6 genuine passes which is 4 or 5 more per meeting than I have seen there in my previous visits. Leicester V Wolverhampton 9 Aug

Woffinden is employed by Wolverhampton Speedway to ride in the EL. He is only drained because he is taking too much work on outside speedway, and that is having an effect on his riding for Wolves. Woffinden should look at reducing his commitments outside speedway and concentrate on what he is being paid to do for Wolves. For that reason I think it totally reasonable that his performances for Wolves are being called into question. Wolfie
