British speedway is a joke.
THE DEAN MACHINE replied to chrismorton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yes heavier flywheels would help, you could put lower lift cams in to achieve less revs, there are many things that could be done, it’s simple to make an engine Rev less it’s making it work at less revs that is the key -

When I pitch the idea of restricting the revs to 10,000 or even 9000 all I get is the bike won’t work at that revs etc, I agree no it won’t but they are coming from the wrong perspective to solve the issue, it’s proven the sport works perfectly fine at lower revs, so the bikes need to change to adapt back to that level, you can’t expect it to happen overnight, it won’t, testing needs to be done, riders would adapt within a meeting or 2, they are versatile they can ride pretty much any bike with any power application, so no issue there, you may find riders reverting back to long stroke but I’m sure most would just adapt a short stroke, you can’t just limit the modern engine at 10,000 revs, it would be dangerous, the power band of the engine has to be lower, so as the riders and tuners aim for that optimum power rather than having it restricted before it hits that optimum power, the advantages of a much lower rev power are easier to ride engines, less engine wear, less tyre wear, less track wear, bikes ride better in wet, tracks don’t need to be as slick, speeds would be the same, team riding could again become easier than it is now, ultimately engine costs after the transition would be less, no brainier for me but I and others have been banging this drum for a while now and it’s completely ignored, the sport just plunders on, going from catastrophe to catastrophe like the current tyre one, yes Godfrey must take some responsibility for the anlas deal but as I said in an earlier post, we are currently doing a 60 second burnout 5 times a night and any tyre no matter who makes it will disintegrate -

One thing that does annoy me is the number 8 rule, Lublin this year and Wroclaw in the past plus some others doing it this year ,every rider named in the team should be made to have 2 rides at least, there is no need to have a number 8 and if you have to have one he should only be able to take R/R rides not just put him in when someone isn’t performing -

Poland are as concerned as we are about the bikes getting more expensive, more specialised, it’s just not needed, as with 95% of bike mods in speedway over the last 30years we have multiplied the cost x5 to achieve absolutely nothing, same speed same racing if not worse, it’s not worth it, the cost is ultimately passed on to the fans and we don’t care about what bike it is, i am the biggest speedway bike geek out there, I have many of them, all ages and love messing with engines but it’s a def no no from me -

Interesting on the magazine programme tonight they are having a discussion on Leon madsen new karger ignition system, imo yet more unneeded expense in the sport -

Anyone who watched gorzow v Lublin tonight it was my previous post case in point perfectly, a dreadful meeting with not one pass after the 1st corner in 15 heats but a near full stadium and a win for Gorzow, every single person in that stadium would of had a brilliant fan experience, the atmosphere was amazing and the fans loving it, even the Lublin fans were chanting and adding to the atmosphere, although the tv can never catch the live experience it did capture some but for tv viewers it was a hard watch, with only the fact that it was a final keeping the interest -

That’s a blow to Lublin, 12 points is a big ask for a 4 man team, what has happened to drabik? He has been dreadful last couple of meetings -

That really didn’t excite tonight, I feel the whole series is just flat, I did watch all of it but wasn’t really paying attention with only zmarzlik’s races getting the interest up, it was really dull meeting, even the crowd that was good seemed subdued -

As bizarre as this sounds the only realistic threat to zmarzlik title hopes I believe will come tonight from Dan bewley, if bewley were to win tonight and zmarzlik not make the semi (unlikely)but the momentum would swing in Dan’s favour and he would just ride that wave of momentum with no pressure where zmarzlik would feel that pressure knowing he has to perform to keep dan at bay, I think zmarzlik has enough to see it through but would be a interesting end to the series were tonight go the way of bewley -

While I agree that better tracks would be a bonus, the GP for me is about the whole experience, I’ve been to Prague GP four times, not really seen a decent GP but it’s been a fantastic Fan experience , been to around 20+polish GPs and being in Toruń town after the GP is an experience in itself and that’s been the case for Cardiff too but in the last 7or so years they are getting imo less about the fan experience,, I get it’s not my money but for the cost of a free ticket they could get speedway vendors to create a whole speedway village around the fan zone, get bands involved (remember richie Webb’s band) just make the whole thing an event even before you get in the stadium -

Knowing the passion poles have for clubs and riders I can’t imagine how gorzow fans must feel to be losing zmarzlik, he is imo the most exciting rider in modern speedway history and your always guaranteed big points and 100% effort no matter what the track, I understand him leaving to a point, if someone is going to pay you huge money or you just feel you need a change but I don’t think gorzow will ever find a replacement as good as him and that must be on the minds of the fans too, be interesting to see if gorzow are able to stay in the extraleague without him, perhaps he feels his lack of dominance in the GPs is because of his league racing but I believe it’s because he has lost his rival in laguta -
You say stadium but to me they looked like open containers being stored, lydd’s track in Kent also stores containers

This is really sad but that said I don’t get why people thought the outcome would be any different, when your going up against company’s with £s and company’s that don’t always play by the rules and on your side you have sentiment, you will never win, as with most things in life the cards are stacked and money talks, sad but life, hope they now look for other land, which if they are genuine about Reviving Coventry speedway imo they should of done back when Brandon shut

Right discovery, let’s start from scratch, what gone on before is history, me and my family are potential customers, we tick the right boxes, speedway fans, we can travel ok and sorted for somewhere to stop, that’s half your work done, you’re a new company to speedway with fresh idea’s(supposedly )so what are you going to do to make me us want to go ? Just running the same thing as the last 20 years isn’t going to cut it, so let’s see -
Tyre Investigation
THE DEAN MACHINE replied to BuxtonTiger's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It’s not the heat, the storage the track and to a large extent the tyres, it’s the revolution of the back wheel , it is too much, we have been asking too much of the tyres and track surfaces for years nothing will change because nobody gives an arse we will be adapting 1tyre per race soon like they do in Poland and then the riders tyre bill goes up too £250 per meeting and then the mechanics will ask for more to fit them and on track nothing changes, at times this sport deserves to die
