Think you will discover Poole is the gateway to the  world renowned Jurassic Coast, and along with Bournemouth is the UK’s premier holiday resort with 7 miles of golden sands.  A mecca for the rich, with lots of famous sports stars past and present living here.  A beautiful area that attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists every year. (Sometimes way too many as was seen in tv last year)

Hardly the arse end of nowhere, considering we are just 90 minutes from London.

    fancy,

510,00 people wanting to live at the end of nowhere

Ringwood is just 4 miles up the road from me and is definitely in Hampshire.

Matchams address is given as, Matchams Leisure Park, Hurn Road, Ringwood, Hampshire BH24 2BT....It is nearer to St Leonards which is in Dorset:blink:...so not sure on Matchams.

    You are not wrong...doh!!

I'm assuming you mean the Ringwood Raceway at Matchams park?

I think this would be a non starter. I don't even know who operates it now but the area has been hemmed in by high end housing since the days it was used as a training track in the 70's. The Moto X track has been closed due to noise issues I believe so I don't think permission would be given for speedway. It's probably about 10 - 15 miles or so from Poole but in a different county.

Poole's biggest asset is its town centre location but unfortunately that makes the land more valuable for other purposes.

Ringwood and Matchams is in Dorset, but I don't think viable due to location.

Well what will Wolves do then as they are always squished together on the backstraight? Officially what is Poole allowed? About 3k? So that will be about 1500 crowd?

Seem to remember long while ago that the capacity was 5,500, but don't quote me .

Coming from Sunderland, I expect you're familiar with the technique of playing the man and not the ball. So, given that I'm a bell end, let's get back to playing the ball. Which bit of my contribution do you disagree with and why?

Maybe you could afford us your solution for this situation

  6. As the teams get weakened by lower  points limits, it becomes more important in most cases who the number six and seven riders are, as they often seem to win/lose meetings, but is this seeing a quality product, or a mathematically manoeuvred one. Remember when Wednesday was Speedway night, now you can go a month without a home meeting, and you then have to find something else to do, and gradually get used to not going to Speedway, so sad but a fact.

BS Group changed their name in 2004 when Clark Osborne's company Toklon took overall control. I seem to remember a revised 25 year lease was negotiated then, but may be wrong?!

Not sure that the stadium could take Poole Town FC without some major redevelopment - not just removing the dog track but also the glass-fronted restaurant/stand. Apart from that Poole Town FC would have to repay all the loans made by the FA to improve their current home.

In any case all this is irrelevant until GI actually decide to give up the stadium lease which is by no means certain yet.

Remember when Poole Town played at the stadium, farcical situation with the corners of the pitch being grass on pallets , that were put in place to make the pitch regulation size

  8. Some of the hardest riders I ever saw was when the Russian team came to Poole , versus Great Britain, they started by going on the green light straight through the tapes, , once that was sorted they set about demolishing the fence(not air) and the GB team, can still picture Nigel Boocock in mid air with his bike on the pits corner, they (the Russians) just kept getting up and riding on until I think they ran out of bikes, was sure that they would kill themselves or someone else.

I must have 14 fingers then! The comment made was about full stadia, not nearly full. The only one that sells out for every match is also the largest - Manchester United with 74,879.

sorry Bournemouth sell out , because it has a very small capacity
