  1. Is a Joker allowed in the final race of the night? I thought the same as you about Mikael Max so presumed it would make no difference where he finished in heat 24.

    Rayleigh Rockets

Oh. I'm sure I would if I hadn't gone senile. How far back are we talking? I was born in 1940.
  3. No...but I'm sure I will now! Perhaps he's been taking lessons off Kelvin Tatum, master of the eeerrrr..ummms.

    Floppy makes the squad

Phew! Just checked back on the posts on here and no..I've not made any comment about the team chosen. Brilliant performance by the GB team, but let's not get too carried away because most races last night were just like match races with only Australia and Great Britain involved. I'm afraid barring a miracle Australia were always going to win with Adams and Crump covering the last couple of races. Good luck on Thursday lads and let's hope they can ride as well and get through to the final. By the way was that really a small track? No times were given so I couldn't judge, but it didn't seem that small to me.

    RAIN OFFS

Should be able to find some in the forum archives. Alternatively check other forums - especially the Oxford one where he is still ranting on.....I mean giving his wise opinions.... on how to prepare a track. You know I'm only joking Trackman. Regards from Pawprint. xxx
  6. I thought it was funny too English Rose. Whoever taught them to say "You know" in every sentence wants shooting. So does the person who told Hans Andersen "F**k" was an every day English word to use.

A Question for You LIONS fans

LT is on holiday at the moment Sir L., but it's only for a week so I'm sure he will be on here as soon as he gets back. Bet he's been lying on the beach humming tunes and driving his wife mad!
  8. Well, that's a shame I say. Even Pawprint likes that one! I usually sing it when letting her out of the car at Brandon and she joins in the chorus.
  9. Sorry Fluffy Bunny. Hope I'm forgiven. I must have had the devil in me that day. I will now be reserving judgement until I see how he rides in The World Cup. By the way, credit where it's due, I hate to say this but I quite enjoyed his performance on Sky on Monday. I think it must have been the very fetching mac that did it.
  10. Yes, but do they still play it? All the music was so low key this year either I'd gone deaf or it was turned down so low it was almost inaudible. Bring back "Hey Baby" and "Who let the dog's out." as well I say!

A Question for You LIONS fans

Glad you are enjoying it Shazzy. I don't think we are! Can't believe it's that one Sir L. Perhaps for Glasgow or Edinburgh but not for us Sassenachs. Enjoyed the music though and again my imagination has run riot visualizing the track staff marching - more like hop, skip and jumping - out to that.

A Question for You LIONS fans

Hi Adam and thanks very much for coming back as we are all getting increasingly frustrated on here. Never heard of The North March, but perhaps Sir L will be able to help as he seems able to find an endless list of tunes. Please let us know on here if you find out.

A Question for You LIONS fans

Oh. Well....close enough! That was pretty good for me because I find it hard to remember anything with the limited amount of brain cells I've got left. No, I'm not involved with the Supporters Club. I'm one of those strange quiet, shy people who doesn't really like social events. I never used to like going to my own parties when I was a child and I've not really changed much.
  14. Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf? Also That silly Bee song which Arthur Askey did. Both remind me of Peterborough because they like to take the mickey out of the opposition. Another tune would remind me of Leicester Speedway in the 60's if I could damn well find out what it was called! :x Don't hold your breath Phil!

A Question for You LIONS fans

Hi Phil (# Name Removed # was it?) Welcome back and I hope you can stick around this time. If you want to send Lt a personal message of thanks you can via his email address on the forum - just click on the email bit on his post on page one and Bob's your uncle. Better be pretty smartish though because I think he is going on holiday soon. Typical of him to leave us in the lurch, humming different marching tunes while he clears off to a sunny country somewhere.

A Question for You LIONS fans

Hard luck - he's not right. More likely Leicester City Football team's signature tune. I don't really know because I've only ever been once about 40 years ago, but they are called The Foxes so it would be appropriate. They might have played it at the beginning of the Hunters meetings of course, but I don't remember it being the marching out tune in the 60's. Back to the drawing board again then. :-(
  17. Sorry Bunny! I've just noticed you are browsing. I'm off then.......
  18. With two of the biggest whingers in the England team the manager had better make sure there are plenty of toys available to replace all those that get broken. Let's hope the tracks are all perfect, no ruts, holes, bumps and not watered too much, the inside line is prepared to perfection for Gary Havelock because he won't be venturing anywhere else and the sun shines every day (but not too much). Phew! Stand by for blasting.

A Question for You LIONS fans

..Brain working well today Norbold! Very witty!
  20. I'm sure he was standing in front of us at Trelawny when we were there recently, but I wasn't brave enough to ask. Knowing my reputation with faces (being unable to recognise forum members I've met before) I'm probably completely wrong as it was about 40 years ago since I last saw him. I know he still lives down South somewhere but am not sure if he still attends meetings. I've still got an old black/white photo I took of Harry on route somewhere. Battered old car with the bike strapped on the back. Those were the days! Even when just starting out the youngsters today seem to have decent transport, even if it's just the good old Ford Transit van with International Speedway Rideremblazoned on the sides. ;-)

A Question for You LIONS fans

Afraid it's the Atari for me then being one of the really old people. I've still got one too and loads of games. Can't beat the old Space Invaders, Q Bert and Keystone Kapers etc. You're right Bee that tune does sound like The Archers.

A Question for You LIONS fans

Well I have emailed him letting him know what havoc he has caused and if he ever finds out what the music is to please let us know!
  23. I wish! That's why I'm still getting up at 6.30am and doing an office cleaning job. Mind you it's worth it just to listen to Wogan for an hour. ;-)
  24. They're older, Kevin, so have plenty stashed away. ;-) ..

    Any ex-fans of Phil Bishop?

I think you might be confusing him with Emily Bishop off Coronation Street J.J.
