    Hans Anderson

To be fair to Hans, he did what he had to do. He got stuffed up in the corner and then Chris obligingly caught his front wheel, not very hard mind but Hans had a quick decision to make and whether its liked or not, he made the right one for him. He did go down easy but the referee had no choice but to exclude bomber. Its a bit like in football when a player gets a touch in the penalty box and goes down. I think Bombers ironic thumbs up to Hans as he walked past him in the pits was his way of saying well done, you stitched me up there. With Pedersen, he too went down a bit easily but there was a big contact and all 3 back would have been the fairest decision. I thought Pedersen was out of order for having a moan about Hans' pass on him on the last bend of heat 20 I think it was, as there was a gap and Hans found it fair and square.

NEWSFLASH - Apparently, news has been released that the war in Iraq and Gareth Southgate missing his penalty in 96 was all the fault of Scott Nicholls! Thanks Phil! That'll teach me not to be a smartarse!

Sorry Snyper but I have to disagree. Scott tried to move away a couple of times but Emil continued after him. If he wanted to make his point so badly he could have done it in the pits. As I've said, Scott is not blameless but he is not entirely to blame and I can only assume by your previous posts (glad he had a pish meeting, acting like a bairn etc) that your opinion is biased against Scott more than anything else and to be honest, your post more than others surprised me least of all.

Sorry to dissapoint you Snyper but I'm not an 'I love Scotty' person or any other rider. I'm someone who believes in fairness and to blame one person in that incident is wrong. Whether Emil speaks English is irrelevant, it was quite clear what point he was trying to make and to be honest there wasnt much of a point to make, it was a fair move. Scott had the right of way going to the gate and Emil should have followed. Even if Emil was on his own he would have needed to turn right to get around the gate as he was heading for it. I've watched it several times now to see if I was wrong but in my opinion and probably the vast majority opinion is that Emil leant on/locked into Scott deliberatly, which is what made Scott push him.

I have to agree with those who were offended by 'come on England'. As they have all said, it was the British GP not the English GP, no matter who is riding in the team. Don't know why Snyper hates British riders even more because of it though, they didnt play the songs! One thing I also think is questionable is the need to sing the Welsh national anthem at the British GP. I've nothing against the Welsh and I know it's held in Cardiff, but Wales is part of Britain and it's the British GP, so surely just the British anthem is all thats necessary.

Thanks for the link GoTigers but I've seen the footage plenty of times and no one can convince me that Scott didnt have right of way. Celticboy has hit the nail on the head saying it was 6 and half a dozen. Probably the most predictable thing to come out of all of this was the Scott haters laying all the blame on him. I'm not surprised in the slightest. At the time I remember thinking that they would be on here at the first opportunity to spout their clouded views. I'm not saying Scott is blameless, he was involved and has to take his punishment but to say Emil was not at fault is bias in the extreme. If he hadn't have kept on about it, it would not have come to blows.

Welcome aboard celticboy! I have to say what an excellent post. Makes a nice change for someone to show an unbiased and neutral view. You will soon learn that is not always the case on here and that some cannot help themselves by using their hatred to post an opinion rather than be honest. Will look forward to reading more of you're posts and whether we agree/disagree, I'm sure it won't degenerate into a slagging match.

I've just watched the incident again and I don't care how anyone tries to dress it up, Emil stops Scott getting in to the gate. Scott was slightly ahead of Emil and was heading for the opening and instead of giving way and following Scott in, he locked handlebars and they both ended up hitting the gate, pushing it almost closed. The move in the race was hard but completely fair and what followed would not have happened if Emil had just accepted it and not kept going on and on about it. At the end of the day they were both out of order and have been dealt with. Unfortunately, the people who don't like Scott cannot bring themselves to give an objectional view and will blame him no matter what evidence is shown or what respected riders/ex-riders say about the incident. I don't have favourite riders so this is not an 'I love Scott' perspective. Yes I was behind him on saturday because I'm patriotic but I can promise you my opinion of the incident would have been the same regardless of who was involved. I also thought Hans made a fair move on Pedersen coming off of turn four and that Pedersen was out of order for having a go at Hans.
  9. T.N.T, your tv must show things differently to everyone elses! Emil was on the left of Scott and so was the gate, very clearly so! Scott was trying to go left but Emil would not let him and ran them both into the fence, which is when Scott pushed Emil and the rest as they say is history.
  10. Maybe next year they can scrap all the cheesy music and balloon acrobats and just put a boxing ring in the centre green. First up: Nicki.P v Referee, Second on: Scott v Emil and then the big one : Snyper v Superace!

I'm amazed you can say Scott was at fault or accuse him of trying to take him out. He ran him wide to defend his line like he is entitled to do and yes it was hard but definately fair. I think you will find yourself in a very small minority on this one. I appreciate you ride speedway and hats off to you for that, but Chris Louis, Mark Loram, Sam Ermalenko and Kelvin Tatum all ride/rode too (and no disrespect to you but probably at a higher level) and they were quite clear that Scott did nothing wrong.

    Alcohol At Cardiff

I think the last part of your post says it all loyal, there is plenty of drinking time before the meeting and this is when the idiots get tanked up. If people turn up drunk then they should not be allowed entry, no matter how much they paid for tickets.

It's funny you mention the engines iris. I too was watching last night and jokingly thinking to myself that Emil looked slower after the engine furore and wondered if the conspiracy theorists would be accusing JC of the same!

Yes the riders will take the blame but I don't feel they should. Those guys are pumped with adrenalin and occasionally it will spill over. Yes it's wrong to get to the point of trading blows and they should be dealt with accordingly. For the 'fans' to use it as an excuse to fight is pathetic and the very vast majority of fans did not. As pointed out by another poster, the people involved were boozed up and that was the real reason these idiots started trouble. To try and put speedway fans into the football fans catagory is unrealistic in the extreme. I go to both and can honestly say I have never ever felt threatened at a speedway meeting but regularly so at football. I'm not in favour of an alcohol ban in the stadium because those fans who do genuinly enjoy a pint will be victimised. If there was one I'm not sure it would have a bearing on the financial side of the GP as I think those profits go to the stadium. If fans turn up drunk then they should not be allowed entry.

I think you may need to watch it again icicle. As Star Lady points out, Emil was making an issue of it and Scott was more or less brushing him off and probably telling him where to go. As they approached the open gate, Emil wouldn't lett Scott turn in and ran both of them into the fence which is when Scott lost his cool and you can hardly blame him. As for the incident causing crowd trouble, well I would say the fight probably had more to do with alcohol than the riders.

Thought it was a fairly decent GP tonight. Crumpy is back to the top of his game at the moment, he's riding and conducting himself like a Champion and I hope he goes all the way. Referee was poor again unfortunately. Hans was very astute in going down as he knew he'd messed up and knew there was a good chance Harris would be excluded. I don't blame him though, he did what he had to do and it's up to the officials to see through things like that. As for excluding Pedersen shortly after, well thats the worst decision I've seen since last year at Cardiff (Bjarne & Adams). As for the scrap, I feel a fine is sufficient for both with maybe a suspended ban pending any further agro. Maybe they should be made to apologise publicly. I think it's great to see fresh talent like Emil lighting up the GP series but he needs to learn that he can't throw his toys out of his pram when things don't go his way. Scott was hard but was certainly fair. Emil was aslo was lucky not to get a right hook from Pedersen in Denmark. Such a shame to see Adams struggling so badly. He is a classy rider and it's hard to figure out what has happened but I hope he can get it sorted soon. As for Charlie, she is doing alright. She's enthusiastic, she's got a pleasant manner, she seems to enjoy the job and let's face it, she is much nicer to look at than Chris Loius!
  18. Blimey, I didn't know Alan Carr watched Speedway! (pic 10) The guys in pic 16 heard that Nicki.P was on his way to the referees box!
  19. I'll keep Crump as captain please. Thanks

Touche! To give Scotland a fighting chance, I would choose the following: 1: Leigh Lanham 2: Joe Screen 3: Dave Norris (capt) 4: Gary Havelock 5: Paul Hurry

To be fair Grachan, Snyper isn't really showing prejudice as he's entitled to support whoever he likes. He's made it clear on many occasions that he considers himself a Scot and not a Brit which is fair enough. As Scotland don't have any riders capable of making a decent National side of their own, or any capable of making the British squad, he's free to support whoever.

In a way it is a shame that there isn't a team England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. If we were drawn in the same group England would romp to an easy victory and head straight for the final.

Has Rob Lyon farted? Bomber looks like he's got a sniff of something nasty!
  25. Thanks for running the competition Ballinger, makes an otherwise flat GP series a lot more interesting! I'd like to make two changes please: Adams - 45k out with Hancock 45k in and also Nicholls - 35k out with Holta - 30k in. New team should read: Crump Sayfutdinov Jonsson Hancock Holta Thanks again.
