  1. wasnt a camera................. it was chris kerr
  2. chris kerr.......... sooooooooo much better than that other american. deserved this win, smooth and damn quick ..well done mate.. one of the best meetings so far this year at worky. good to see some old faces . super joe had some bad luck tonight, looks like he could do a great job on in pl, he would be some attraction in this league . john branney= 110% tryer.deserved more. edge of the seat stuff. brilliant....
  3. can you also bring back the aztec bar and the marathon bar while youre at it.
  4. how much for a programme and is it still £1 for kids with an adult ?
  5. cant understand why the HOME pair didnt win the meeting, maybe next year they should hold it on a neutral track, just to make sure the HOME team dont make progress into the final. good meeting from a neutrals point of view. but pl is sooooooo much better.
  6. theres a phone box at the end of the street, you could hold it in that.
  7. peterborough is not in workington, sheffield is not in workington, newport is not in workington, as is berwick. but we lifted the cup at berwick. therefore we won over 2 legs . didnt say that all this happened this year. i would like to say i am sorry for misleading any poster on here, but im not.
  8. do think the home riders will fill most of top places, but still looks a classy line up..good luck to all in it and good luck to all the supporters trying to find 18 quid to get in.
  9. why, why ,why did all those away supporters turn up for the fours knowing they didnt have a cat in hells chance of winning the meeting,.. did they just turn up to see who finished 2nd/3rd/4th..it wasnt a nailed on thing that worky would win the meeting, anything could have happened. someone mentioned on here that the home team should be stripped of their top two heatleaders , so as to give the other teams a chance. that almost happened last year when nermark was injured, stoney was injured, but still rode and we had haines and wright in the team. guess what....we still won it. yes , lets move it to a central track, one that everyone has easy acess to and while we are at it why dont we run it at the START of the season when all the clubs have built up their teams. this could be done by taking the top 8 teams with the highest averages and put them straight into the semis on a track 100% neutral. thay way the club that gets CHOSEN/AWARDED to stage the event has enough time to prepare . workington............. winners of the four t.t. winners of the pairs..........winners of the p.l.r.c.... ALL ON AWAY TRACKS..... and while on the subject..winners of the young shield away at berwick..... who gives a monkey what form of speedway it is , as long as its in towns n citys around g.b. ....... go and support it, cos one day it wont be there.. STOP BEING A BUNCH OF FARIES AND JUST LIVE WITH THE GOOD TEAMS AND THE BAD TEAMS. there was OVER 3,000 fans at worky on saturday to SUPPORT THEIR TEAMS.. 3,000 FANS CANT BE WRONG.!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. just got to ask the question..who was beered up. you or the worky fans, because by my maths there were 14 passes in the two semi finals(16 heats) and 8 passes in the final (12 heats) to cement this case, see the speedway updates and count them. there were also many races that were very close (clews etc) i do remember worky winning the fours at p/borough. think thats classed as an away track and the pairs at newport/somerset. how do you know the worky fans were quiet ? in one breath you say there were 10 to 12 lads and in the next breath .you were TOLD that it must have been something to do with the e/borough fans surrounding them... now we know just where to real cowboys are. were you really there or are you in an induced coma ? DEFEAT IS HARD TO TAKE FOR SOME PEOPLE.......
  11. get yer sen up ere. its reet ott n sunny...( do travel up to workington, the sun is beaming and blue skies are all around ) ta. ( thank you ).....bye= bye!!!
  12. mr ward is NOT riding . his next meeting will be at newport for k/lynn..
  13. just been informed that there will squibs (fireworks) at some time in the meeting, hopefully most of them will be during the racing !!!!!!!!!... and on the track. ...............................tune up those vocal cords.............................
  14. i agree, us northern people to lead the way. do fancy redcar to win though. worky outcome depends on adrians recovery from his crash last week. won it last year with half a team, so no reason why we cant get into the semi,s( ooh er ) this time around with 3/4 of a team. look out for the male and female streakers half way through the meeting..( bet that will put a few extra on the gate ) there will be no flares at the meeting. (stray firework from the meeting display) as the credit crunch has hit everyone in the pocket. might be a few popped up fans letting their gobs off, but you get that everwhere you go. beer n brains dont mix... so come along and let youreselves be heard, whoever you support. dont be like the k/lynn supporters who stood next to us and only clapped when their rider crossed the line first..every rider deserves the applause for his riding skills. we also have tractor racing after each set of races, think start time is 7pm, but get there early and dont stand on my bit of concrete.lol. ENJOY THE THE DAY/NIGHT...GO HOME HAPPY.
  15. come on, just give it to workington, you know you want to. cant wait to see the top riders in the world .oops , elite league.
  16. worky got third due to the higher score in the first set of races ( scoring 27 points to k/lynns 24 ) congrats to brum and tuff doda to kl... will we now see the rules changed for next years pairs ??parker ..how is he ?
  17. phone call from the track confirms that the meeting is on. (supporters going onto the ground+ its hot and sunny)..so it on..... theres always one or two out to try and spoil it for everyone... cum on wucky marras........
