If we can get a fit Pickering into our line up it’s a no brainer based on how he rode last time for us   At the moment having Kyle at reserve is ok at home but not away. As said previously Kerr can gate consistently and is by far the better reserve  as proved at Ipswich. Kerr scored 20+ at Ipswich and wolves where as Kyle was poor at Ipswich and let’s see tomorrow at wolves. Connor mountain is a good lad but I’d expect Josh to out score him over the season

So presumably Kerr is fit to ride, after he fell in his first ride at Berwick yesterday where injured his knee and took no further part in the meeting.

Many years ago, i'm fairly sure that due to one of those quirky rules British speedway love so much, that John Davis rode as a guest replacement for himself.

John Davis that's a name from the past,I used to go to the Wolves talk-ins,and always remember Pete Adams talked about him with a vengeance,it was quite comical really, think it was because Davis quite fancied himself, and poor old Pete is hardly an oil painting lol.

Sam Masters had so much potential. Sad to see him reduced to being a Monmore track specialist.

What happened to the guy who used to fly around Somerset?

We should be more concerned about a guy whose just qualified for GP challenge and then goes to a track he's very familiar with and scores a single point from 4 rides.

  4. This will tell us realistically how close Wolves will be to claiming the top prize, they've done well at Belle Vue and Ipswich,so if they can keep it to a 10 point margin, then I would imagine they would be fairly optimistic about their chances when it comes to the nitty-gritty later in the season. We run Sheffield close last campaign, and the last thing they want is to be on the end of a real hammering to dent their confidence.    I'll go 49..41.

Both Cooks had bad spells earlier in the season but later in the season they were very good , this season they are both riding really well,we would struggle badly without them, i think riding in the premiership has helped both of them maybe Zach more than Ben.

A post from Shovlar pre season "Ben might be making better scores, but personally think Zach has more potential"  looks like he could be right .

Steve there was a few before the season started.

Utterly and totally untrue.Nearly all the fans who put us down this season came from East Anglia and also the usual Monmore haters.Regards the management I haven't seen any negative posts about either of them,Adams has never been100% popular with the fans(and I include myself in that) it's just the way he is, but CVS has always put his heart and soul into the club, and hopefully still will regardless wether we survive at the seasons end .

Is anyone else starting to get Peterborough 2021 vibes in regards to Wolves where everyone wrote them off before the season started (Myself included) only for them to prove everyone wrong and win the league.

Ipswich are such an unbalanced side to a point where it relies too heavily on King scoring 10+ a night as well as Doyle and Emil barely dropping a point to an opponent.

Your not the only one to have written Wolves at the beginning of the season TTT,remember seeing one post by Flappy saying he could see Wolves becoming adrift from the others(but it's not the only thing he's got wrong this season)as the year goes by.Personally feel Sheffield are still strong favourites for the crown, but are sure the Monmore men won't give up until the final race.

Excellent choice, but I gather you've not been to Workington yet? It's sublime.

Shows what can be done if you have the money and inclination. It would be interesting to know for Wolves and Peterborough fans about how much the actual construction work cost from scratch to put the venue up and running.Obviously though finding a site in the wide open spaces of Cumbria is much easier than finding a plot of land in the restricted areas of Wolverhampton.

it’s how you read it pal.

it’s a shame swindon closed down - ironically after they had taken the effort to make the track better for racing.  i’m no swindon fan though as i support the club where i’m from, ipswich.

my comments were never been anything other than about the speedway and the commentary.  both of which made it a poor spectacle in my opinion.

my wife was born in wolverhampton and her family are from there so i have no issue whatsoever with the people or wolves fans and hope a new site can be found where a quality circuit can be built.

riders will always struggle to adapt and find the set up for monmore as it’s a one off, even on the british circuit.  good meeting there are therefore few and far between.

But I'm not the only one who read it that way am I,you've received several replies who have slated that post and not one single person agrees with it .By the way being from Cirencester, everyone would presume you're a Swindon fan .

it’s mickey mouse speedway racing.  whilst monmore is in existence it means having to put up with it every time it’s televised.  riders getting rewarded for poodling round on the inside.  hopefully wolves can move to a new track where proper racing is possible.

Thats not how you put it.You wanted to see another club close down just like your beloved Swindon. The same goes for Phillipsr with Coventry ,you two are out of the same pod.

I think we will keep it reasonably close till heat 12, then.....................................................................................heats 13 and 15 will finish us off. :(

Think that will be the case in most away meetings unfortunately, against strong 1/3/5 opposition.....Mind you, a lot of the pundits on here predicted us to finish bottom anyway lol

The best 'new build' track I saw was Somerset.

Yes that was great, think Nigel Pearson said that was his favourite since Cradley..as long as its not a moaners track(lol) or a big boring one like the old County ground at Exeter(went to see the Westernapolis once, never been so bored).  A mid size which is quite fast and also technical is absolutely perfect.

Couldn't agree more with every word of this post. I spent a thoroughly enjoyable day, attending the BV Wolves match at midday and then pulling in Panthers v Lions later in the evening, 2 fantastic Speedway matches! I then sat down yesterday evening to watch the Wolves v BV match while dipping into this thread to see what people were saying and I must say it was a thoroughly depressing read, everything from people slagging the Tennis off to the usual slating of the Monmore track. If you didn't enjoy that Speedway match, you don't like Speedway and I question what the hell people like that are even doing on this forum.

In  other news... I wonder if Wolves find a new piece of land, and let's all hope they do, whether they'll try and replicate the Monmore track or go for a BV style shape, or maybe even a Leicester type hybrid. The "technical" track seems to be on the decline, especially in the top league and for me it's the technical track that makes British Speedway what it is, it's what's attracted riders to the UK in the past, those that have ambition to become better Speedway riders with ambition to become World Champion came to Britain to become better technical Speedway riders.

If they do have to start from scratch with a new piece of land(and I know I'm going to upset some fellow Wolves fans)I'd love it to be modeled on the old Dudley Wood circuit.Wasn't a great fan of the club, but their race track was perfect, and even Peter Adams agrees. It wouldn't be based on the Monmore track,it won't then give the moaners nothing to moan about. PS....Belated happy birthday to our speedway team,95 years old yesterday.

I've watched it back a few times now, and have to disagree with you, it was just a good gate. So was Schleins in heat 11 which was pulled back.

I agree.Nigel Pearson would often comment he didn't think trying to anticipate the tapes wasn't a crime, and if you got it wrong then you were penalised, whereas a roller was a completely different matter.

Or stay on a Monday night

The excuse for being thrown out of Monmore is pathetic.Leo Walker a director at Entain, says greyhound welfare is the sole reason why speedway can longer be tolerated.   Saying to many dogs are getting injured because of the material throw on to the greyhound racing circuit from the bikes . Strange this has only just surfaced when speedway has gone side by side with the dogs for decades.Think this is a lame excuse and a deliberate lie in wanting Wolves out of the way so they can stage further meetings with more profit from online betting in the UK and South East Asia .

Think we’ll make a better fist of it here than others have, but still can’t see us winning. Rew’s first time here and I don’t think the track will suit him to put it mildly, and although it was a long time ago, Emil struggled around here with Coventry scoring 5 and failing to win a race. If Becker is a bit rusty after his lay off that will help us mind you.

Yes Emil did struggle to get those 5 points in 2011, and if I remember correctly he was even lucky to get those.
