We might just surprise a few, it's practically just about who gets out the gate first. Claus scored 11+2 there last season.
Maybe Tate and Antti can have a session round our kids track to practice for it
It was an awful spectacle last night it is absoultely pointless that they've widened it because the inside line off the 3/4 bend works so well, I can get Plymouth fans being defensive over it because it's their home, but it does the sport no favours. I can now see Cookie's and Lawson's comments about the place in the pre-season events were justified
As harsh as that sounds it's the truth and 99% on this forum would agree.
Anyone comparing this to Edinburgh is wrong imo, Edinburgh is a good test of a riders ability. Plymouth is just like US indoor track.

Enjoyed it tonight but gave ourselves too much to do after being 8 points down after 2 heats. Expected the heat 2 result but rather unfortunate in Heat 1.
Felt like a constant back and forth with Glasgow having a strong pairing and then Comets having one.
Think Glasgow will improve and won’t get beat at home because they won’t hang about making changes. Worrall seems a shadow of his former self this season and Starke isn’t good enough to ride in the top 5 for a team like Glasgow.
Hopefully we’ve done enough to grab the aggregate bonus point next Saturday!

If Redcar are stuck for a guest at home on a Friday night they could always call on Janowski
His Champ average would now be 7.92 so could guest at home, hilarious really.

Looking forward to travelling up for this one! Sounding like another large away following from the Comets. Just a shame it potentially could be only the one visit to Glasgow this year. Hopefully not with BSN series / playoffs.
I was majorly suprised when I saw Jack Smith's score last week, but looking at who he beat for those points, Oxford's 2/3/4 Atkins, Heeps, Jenkins. It's maybe not as suprising.
Would hope he won't be repeating that against Tate, Dan Thompson and Vissing. Shame Antti is missing he would probably love the track

Think it will be a big ask on Saturday without a full team, otherwise would be confident. Plus Redcar are stronger with Riss in place of Danny King.
No real good guest options for Antti either may as well go with R/R and hope Tate is fit.
Starke may score a couple at reserve with extra rides but not convinced by him, he'll be swallowed up on the massive bends on what like looks super slow equipment to me

Cami Brown must be fuming now, he comes across like an idiot in these interviews

Hopefully the week at home does him well then

He's still down to ride in Poland u24 league this afternoon, unless he's not gone?

Pleased for Cookie, he's mentioned constantly in his interviews this season about wanting to get back into the PL.
Guess he's putting himself back in the shop window now, his gating has always been good, but it's been electric this season.
Just seen he'll be riding at reserve on a 4.39 average, wow!

Got his chance in the Premiership

James has said Paul Starke is guesting for the Comets on Saturday vs Redcar

Tate as 4th in the averages and Antti 5th so if they used R/R for Antti only Tate, Sam and Celina could take rides (1 above and rest below)
As they used the IRR rule (this only allows riders below) today only the reserves could take a ride.
Can the team not be re-declared ahead of the new May averages I wonder?
i.e Antti gets nominated as the senior 5 point rider. Who knows!

Antti is battered and bruised but okay. Paramedics deemed him to be concussed.
Has to sit out now for 9 days. Unfortunate he will be missing for Glasgow away and Redcar at Home. Probably not a rider like Tate you can replace adequately on a 5 point average.
The meeting was very good from Heat 5 re-run onwards, it was a lengthy delay but credit to Steve for sorting it.
Promising start to competitive racing so far. Our top 5 is one of the best in the league in my opinion.

Managed to speak to Celina in the pits prior to the meeting, she was certainly still battered and bruised from last weeks fall.
She said her right hip is fully black with blood spots, and it hurts to move. She is so determined and has definitely made an impression with Comets fans young and old at an early stage. That’s all that matters here, I don’t think we or she will care about outside negativity. She is so mentally strong and will laugh the negativity off.
Her dad Jurgen and sister, drove over from Germany with her best engine that was sitting at home. He only arrived in Workington at 10.30am yesterday morning having drove all night, and then proceeded to start working on her equipment ahead of yesterday’s meeting.
If she can get out of the start which she’ll be working on, I’m convinced she’ll start picking up good points instead of having to do it from the back.
Speedway is to me is not a tribal sport, and I don’t see comments posted here echoed around Social media platforms.
However the comments here are still fairly tame compared to other sports. Would take these comments with a pinch of salt. The experience at Northside is miles better than the Derwent Park days in my opinion, I wasn’t sure on the Afternoon starts at first but the numbers of families attending is really showing. All positive stuff for me!
With improvements to FIM standards coming all the time and the inclusion of a Newport style ‘New years Classic’ in the pipeline we could be running all year round on this track.

On the season pass, most likely the replacement for the postponed Scunthorpe home meeting

Hoping for a Redcar victory in this one, but honestly see another away victory in this one. 43-47. Hope I’m wrong!

Was quite a few riders practising down at Northside today, including Cookie and Antti
Cookie looks very fast, can't imagine it'll be long until he's going through the card unbeaten

Yeah I saw the video of his only race, he couldn't turn the bike. Can't see him riding at Plymouth this season, his leg break was on his trailling left leg too

Looks like Celina Liebmann pulled out of the Italian Championships she was going to be riding in.
Upon checking the results, was shocked to see a certain number 5 scoring 11 points and still riding!
Maybe he can return to the comets on a 4 point average next season

Very enjoyable evening at the Ecco Arena, track was great as usual, and good craic with the Redcar fans.
For the Comets it was very promising to come back from a 12 point deficit, Cookie was somewhat back to his old self, 13+1 but I think he will still get better.
Tate and Antti, were exciting to watch after taking a few heats to figure out the track. Very exciting prospects, who will win a lot of races as already shown at Northside.
In my opinion, we have 5 potential heatleaders in this side. All 5 had at least one heat win tonight
Haven’t talked about Claus and Batch yet, but Claus is really flying isn’t he. Thought he’d be in Heat 15, but Batch had another good night
Celina battles really hard, and was her best showing so far. Such a determined rider
Sam Mc is only learning, just like Ben Trigger is. Some stronger 2 point reserves out there but they’ll both get there by mid season

8 minutes ago, PTW said:Surely they will just use his Poole average from last year
Correct, and if he didn't have a championship average it would be PL ave. x1.5
A guest always takes the average of the rider they are replacing, so it's why he's at No.1

It's also the date of the Euro 2024 final, but it doesn't kick off until 8pm.
Would of nice to see some of the Comets riders in it this time round
