Workington v Edinburgh 29/09 7:00pm koc 2nd leg
WorkyWorky replied to topaz325's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Wow what a meeting....just catching my breath!! Comets fully redeemed themselves for last night and more. Thankfully with a few newbies in and a lot of monarchs fans there to witness. It had everything, controversy, a last heat decider, and even Tony Mole in attendance! Every single rider rode their heart out and reminded us why we’re proud to be comets fans. They pulled together, and brought such a good spirit that we haven’t had for years to an exciting meeting. Kyle Bickley getting better with every meeting, wants to hold his head high tonight as a very valued part of this team. Hey maybe they were spurred on by a few rival comments, they sure socked it to them. Onwards to the final and the playoffs, anything is possible when #webelieve -
Ah that old chestnut AGAIN . Hehe haha about as funny as Gary Glitter

Edinburgh vs Workington KO Cup Semi, 1st leg, 28th September 2018, 7.30pm
WorkyWorky replied to cyclone's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
In a season that has been brilliant to support the comets home and away, tonight was a let down that has been few and far between. Well done to Doolan, you surpassed expections! As for the comets.... that really was a poor performance, the score irrelevant. With a promising start, it clearly stood out that there was a problem in our camp. The effort levels seemed to drift, Klindt disappointingly looked like he was sticking to the back in each race, the touching of the tapes was the cherry on top. Not a good watch for travelling comets fans that brought quite a decent turn out at £18.50 a pop, only to be let down. This does not give me confidence that there will be a better crowd than last weekend. With a bit of luck any travelling monarchs fans will be given a good show from their team! -

I know a certain witch who would LOVE to meet you MANSE -
“Didn’t bother” please read 18 pages of the same argument, do your research and get back to me. It IS a pity as maybe our riders would have given more than that half arsed attempt. Many Comets fans travelled to see them despite previous scores, not put off by a forum thread like your fellow fans. It’s a shame we were let down as such tonight, that performance was appalling. However we were racing one of remaining competitions. Kindly given to us by your Scottish friends helping us knock you out. If only Edinburgh were in the playoffs, I’d love to see you all cheering them on giving the tiggers a humping. Yes gazza, that old chestnut, I’ll put my rod away now. Happy keyboard fighting folks.

Bite bite which numerous dates please list.. We’ll be without replacement for Bewley, who rightfully started the season with us but we’ve not kicked up a fuss about waiting for fixtures? Maybe you could kindly buy us some fans? Right after you’ve bought the league of course A lot of so called speedway supporters on here love having a joke about worky not being here next year. It really isn’t necessary or relevant to the meetings in place. Que the messages when we inevitably fold. “Poor worky, you will be missed, speedway doesn’t need another club gone”. I know you’ll miss us more than you think. No matter which teams goes through, cookie for sure will be at the final #backthemarras

Hoorah at long last no more nail biting! Glasgow point blank refused the 6th October at Workington, and could not do 5th or 7th up at Cookies shrine due to prearranged stadium events... that they couldn’t actually remember what they were. Thankfully they took comets fans into consideration you all know we prefer watching the saviour of British speedway on the big screen rather than trackside! Nothing at all to do with wanting a full team out..? Who owns the stadium/can race any night at all? You just couldn’t write it eh.

Thankfully this will be the last GP, maybe just maybe Craig will make it to Derwent Park on a Saturday night to watch his local team bring it home #webelieve

Workington V Berwick 26/10 - Last Meeting At Workington... For This Year
WorkyWorky replied to jenga's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Oh give it a rest, without Keith Denham we wouldn't have had a team to support over the last five years, he didn't claim to have good management skills, if you though you could do any better then you should have put your money where your mouth is. Just to clear things up, Keith said goodbye to the supporters at last weeks meeting before handing over to the new owners. Bring on 2013 -

Nlrc
WorkyWorky replied to Dave Stummings's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
I'm sure for one of the nlrc original dates, workington had a meeting and were to use r/r for Cook but then either our meeting was off or the nlrc was moved. Also, Cook has mentioned on facebook that he'll miss workington's last meeting of the season, the final. I would have thought they'd go for friday and use saturday as a back up... -

Workington 40th Anniversary Meeting

Great meeting! Well done to all of the riders, and of course James Wright, Compton now saying 'feels like home' and an appearance from Carl Stonehewer lifted the atmosphere a bit.
