    Wroclaw GP 2019

It's such a shame that when anyone looks back at recordings of what was one of the greatest GPs ever, those incredible moments will have those two with their whoas and wows as the soundtrack, unable to produce real commentary to match the high quality of the racing.
  2. I suppose the distance does make it so much harder for them to find words other than "big" to describe pretty much every race and every 5-1.

    The Starts

Agreed. They should not allow mechanics onto the track. If riders want to make adjustments they should return to the pits under a 60-seconds time allowance.
  4. The exception that proves the rule. Among the many reasons I stopped going to meetings was because I tired of hearing riders describing a track as great (because it gave them an easy ride) yet the racing was dull for those who had paid to watch.
  5. Pearson hoping and hoping for a Lindgren exclusion.
  6. So what if he was in front, or, more accurately, marginally ahead with his opponent alongside? It doesn't give a rider the right to ride dangerously. If Bellego had been left enough room he wouldn't have crashed.

Did Pearson just say Holder is in the final?

Woffinden gave the ref a reason to exclude him. Riders know they have to be ready even if the others are not.

Give it up, Tatum and Pearson, he's excluded, even if you include his name in the race commentary!
  10. You're right and I've pointed this out a couple of times in previous threads: the original dimensions of the speedway track at BP were in almost exactly the same proportions (width of centre green to the distance between the apexes of the corners) as those of the cycle track at Slater Street. A bizarre coincidence?

Leicester v Poole. Prem. 9/7/18. BT sports.

Indeed, the dimensions of the track he built were remarkably close in proportions to those of the cycle speedway track in the city. He got a lot wrong. Some saw the signs early on and stopped going. Sadly the "improvements" have done nothing to attract me and others back.
  12. Hardly dirty; there was a gap, just not enough of it.
  13. Got to commend Pearson and Tatum for treating us to the full range of their broadcasting skills during the extended break prior to heat 21.
  14. Excessive of Pearson to say USA are finished.

Czech GP prague Saturday 26th May 2018

But not all races were won from the gate, so these stats are meaningless.

    WHAT A FARCE ... AGAIN!

If Scott Nicholls can't ride Championship Speedway, why should Chris Harris? The amount of doubling up of riders of increasingly higher standard has become ludicrous. It prevents any chance of team speedway being taken seriously by anyone other than the ever-dwindling number of die-hards.

    The ultimate journeyman.

Melbourne Gp Saturday 28th October 2017

It's such a shame that the classic races of our time are accompanied by commentary that consists of nothing better than screaming and shouting and elongating riders' surnames.
  19. If anything, they showed that Monmore can be ridden successfully by any team when their riders don't go throttle-happy.

    Jacob Thorsel

Yeah, why do people get worked up about getting things right?PS Are you a speedway promoter?
  21. Eh? You're disagreeing with the wrong poster!
  22. Nothing wrong with it. The danger comes from riders who lack the skill to use the throttle to control their bikes.

    Spellchecker For The Forum?

I'd welcome a process that prevents posters from answering a post by using red font within the quoted post. Being one of the 8% of males with colour vision deficiency, I find it very difficult to differentiate the response from the original post when red is used.
