But do you know what, Glasgow have threw their money at riders for the last few seasons now, had the best team on paper and got them sweet sod all , so why break the habit of a lifetime . We've proved our point in Speedway and took the "treble" with a team on a budget in our Hi8tory Season 2018, the pressure is all on the likes of you lot to go and do the same but I won't hold my breath, only need to look in the mirror and see where the £100,000 loss went . As for you saying Glasgow don't gazump , I had an interesting conversation with a certain Worky rider just after we knocked you out the Semi, who had, had a phone call from Glasgow mid season (when our home fixtures were nil and we were struggling for revenue) telling him they would take him out the "rubbish" if he wanted to finish the season off with them I'm just chuffed we are going to have a team to support this season , that was my dream when the 2018 came to a close

Have to disagree there singy...you only had to look at the crowds on Fridays this season ..lose a lot of shift workers too on a Friday

We will see... a lot of hype about him, he didn't light up the World when he rode at Workington this season , Kyle Bickley beating him in heat 2 no problem lets hope the pressure doesn't get to him but personally I think people are expecting too much from a young lad coming up into the Championship Cast your mind back less than a month ago when a team , cast aside at the start of the season by everyone as not being the strongest on paper , scooped the "Treble" who would have thought !!!! So you see our Management will be neglecting nothing believe me, on their duty of putting our team together

Keep your eyes peeled for upcoming fundraising events from the Workington Speedway Trust , we would like the trust to be a major backbone of support to the club as Edinburgh have done, where us the fans can help Tricky team building now its lowered to 38 but we get the chance to defend our 3 Titles of our H18tory season 2018 The future is bright the future is BLUE & WHITE

Well that might just bring a few of the "Smug" tiger fans back down to earth with a bang !! Seems the "Treble Champions " aren't the only team with financial struggles. After all the comments on Glasgow-Workington Semi Final thread, from certain posters , a lot of sarcastic comments about the Comets running again, seems 2019 is make or break for Glasgow too.

I think the entrance fee is very reasonable , £16, for what we watched in the latter few weeks at Workington was better than Premier League served up on television. Through the season I paid £18, £17 for the likes of Edinburgh and Glasgow , to keep Speedway at Workington I would pay that too . Its a difficult one with the Concessions...you have those with a healthy work/state pension who have more disposable cash than the likes of my Mam who only has State pension so finds the concession price a winner every week so I'm torn with that one . Its the kids prices I think you should target. You get a family coming with 3 kids it makes for an expensive night . Cut the kids prices and try and make it elsewhere selling food/drinks , getting more Adults through the gates could be key if they can bring kids for say £1 , sounds a big a difference than paying £4/5 for each child. I'm praying we can go to the tapes in 2019, the buzz in DP for those finals was unbelievable. Would be amazing to go and do it all again !!! I know a lot more people willing to donate their cash into the Trust fund , if we do run next season . If we can make the Workington Trust work with more fund raising, 50/50 every week, donations from fans it could have a huge impact . Look at Edinburgh's Trust Fund this season , fantastic contribution. The downfall to it working this year was the uncertainty , people are not going to part with their money for it to fold half way through the season. The interest for Speedway in Workington is still there, that showed with the crowds for the Finals. It would be sin to lose Speedway in Workington after the season that made History

I was speaking with Danny at Workington after the Scunny meeting , such a lovely guy who was treated badly by Scunthorpe in the latter of the season , at least he tried , you could have been stuck with the likes of Sarjeant like we were last season who just took the p... !!

Well....never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be posting on a thread where I can say that Workington Comets are the Championship League Winners 2018 !!! What an amazing feeling , Lakeside were demolished last night with no answer for our boys. Even more bittersweet considering the crap this season our management and riders have had to endure . Not bad for a team forecast to finish round bottom of the league. Over the moon for everyone involved in Workington Speedway , going down in history as the best team to don the Blue & White Well done boys you have been the Dream Team that we have longed for .....Thank You My dream now would be for Workington to come to the tapes next season ........
