    Leicester vs Glasgow 23/04 7pm

I thought last night that Glasgow would’ve given Leicester a run for their money. However, heats 8-10 swung the meeting in Leicester’s favour. Worrall easily took care of the tac sub ride in heat 11, which pretty much ruled Glasgow out of clawing any substantial points from the meeting. A decent meeting again last night, with Heat 14 being the stand out. Fair play to the Thompson twins for getting back underneath Basso going into turn one on lap 4. https://www.facebook.com/100000825907564/posts/5059145770789570/?d=n Kerr was a more than able replacement for Howarth, and he had a couple of good rides against Brennan and Ostergaard in heats 9 and 12 respectively.

    Leicester v Poole Sat 16th/4/22

Decent meeting last night, with probably a crowd bigger than that of the Birmingham meeting on the opening night. A fair few Poole fans around bends 1&2 which created a good atmosphere. The track was a little bit bumpy on the 1st and 2nd bend for the first couple of heats but after a track grade, this was sorted out. A decent amount of passing across the meeting as well, certainly more entertaining the demolition jobs in the previous home meetings. Leicester deserved the win, but Poole deserved something out of the meeting too, despite being a 4 man team last night. Howarth is starting to make those cutbacks off bend 2 and 4 his signature move, as he caught Lawson and King out in heats 3 and 9 respectively. Kemp rode brilliant last night, which was no doubt his highest score at Beaumont Park at this level. Overall, Leicester will be glad to have got the win in what was an acid test after the performance at Scunthorpe on Friday. Poole will be more than happy with a point for their efforts. Another big test with Glasgow coming to town next week.

    Poole Pirates 2021

    Poole v Leicester/Scunthorpe on Wednesday.
  5. Edinburgh’s stream is pretty reliable. All you need to do is create an account and you’re good to go.
  6. Another decent meeting last night. The trilogy of battles between Andersen and Wright over heats 11,13 & 15 were very entertaining, especially heat 15. Heat two was also decent, with no more than a fag paper separating Joe, Zaine and Danyon. At least Danyon was okay after his bum slide on bend 3. Overall, Leicester came good just when they needed it and at least managed to take an advantage to Poole. Star man was Nick Morris. 5 perfect gates and was never really troubled. A special mention to Ben Cook who’s score was not only exceptional for a first time visitor, but rode some smart corners to pass the likes of Douglas around BP.
  7. No problem at all. It wasn’t a bad meeting on the whole. A couple of decent races last night. Heat 3 - Douglas made a shocker of gate but reeled Kye in to steal 3rd on the line. Heat 7 saw a good battles between Andersen/Pickering, but Hans held off every move. Heat 10 was a another good race Morris/Pickering later on. Morris with a clean gate off 4 to go around Josh and Masters (TS) but unlike heat 7, Pickering dived under Nick into bend 1 lap 4 to take the lead. Nick was unlucky with the cut back off bend 2, lap 4as it didn’t have enough legs to get back under Josh into bend 3, lap 4. A good race nonetheless. Special mention to Jordan Jenkins who rode a great race to stop every one of Hans’ moves in heat 4. Another mention to Joe Thompson, who also produced a great last bend swoop on Jenkins (heat 11) when he made up loads of ground to pass him on the run to the line. Overall, about a 7/10 meeting with a few good races thrown in.
  8. https://www.facebook.com/groups/283799344971433/permalink/6405154112835895/ Hopefully the link works. Heat 15 from Leicester last night
  9. I was stood right in front of where Nielsen hit said bump/hole on the apex of bends 1&2. Apart from that, the track was consistent.
  10. A good win for the Pirates, with some sharp starting in heats 1-5 building up an advantage the Lions couldn’t claw back. Hopefully Hume is ok after his back flip in heat 12. Good to see Nielsen get up unscathed after hitting the bump/hole on bend 1 in heat 14.

    Somerset 2020

    Luke Becker replaces BWD
  12. They didn’t do it against King’s Lynn. There was passing on the inside and outside. Wilson-Dean went around the outside of Klindt in heat 6. Lambert passed Lawson and Howarth (both outside passes) in heat 5. Doyley also passed riders around the outside later in the meeting, to state a few. Perhaps Klindt is making excuses to cover for his poor performance?

    Race for the Top 4

As Shovlar said, Somerset offered 3 different dates. Chapman refused all of them, but wanted to come down on a Thursday instead. The Thursday before the Krsko GP was when he wanted to come down when Ipswich could possibly be riding (so no Covatti) and Doyley would be off to Slovenia.

Kenneth Bjerre as a temporary replacement?
  15. Well done boys! I know we were against a weakened Robins side but they rode well and got the job done. A special shout out to Tero Aarnio who did a bloody good job for us, especially in heat 12 up against Morris and Ellis.
