Undoubtedly the latter Sube, but I will enjoy his rise to GP level while he is with us, he is a rare talent, cue jokes from Paulco using the word "rare"

To be honest, I am totally pissed off with the missing THJ, the guy will be a GP rider one day, the problems he has seem to be trying to be in too many places at once, but I still feel has such potential he is worthy of a bit of leeway

Great to see some speedway again after missing a few weeks due to holidays and a wedding. I'm not a fan if Individual meetings especially when there are call offs on the day of the meeting - reason given was janniro was exhausted after flying back from US - exhausted? does that mean pissed? and howe took a late booking in Poland. There was some good races, notably ht 12 as already mentioned. Aaron has progressed again since I last saw him, so smooth and to quote ML, a good speedway brain! Roo was a deserved winner, most races when the EL guys gated they were well ahead. great performance from Andrew, he did not look out of place in the final. Rory did say when interviewed that if we get promoted to phone him We probably won't phone Mental though to be fair, i did not see what happened with him and Andrew as I was advising Mr Sneddon to take the bend a bit slower Was good to meet the Famous Falkirk Bandit, we'll catch up with Big Eddie and co tomorrow Can't wait till tomorrow, just hope Ryan has the bike back in great nick.

I'm in Livingston, about 10 miles away, been a few dark clouds but nowt fell apart from a tiny shower over 1 hour ago. Any shower now shouldn't have much affect on the track, it seems we get one every week at 6.30 at the Dale.

The BBC forecast ( and the Beeb never lie was for the rain to move west with only the possibilities of a shower here in Sunny West Lothian. We had about 30 seconds of rain half an hour ago, it's fine now, all white fluffy clouds and a nice breeze Get along that M8 Paulco, leave now, cos as you know there will be thousands from the West coming through to support the two Tigers!

That looks like an offer from you to do the updates Paulco Just think how much you will enjoy doing them if a Monarch does not win - although obviously I expect 6 monarchs in the first 6 places lol. I am 10 miles from the track, everything is drying up nicely with sun and a breeze!
  9. Can i get some of your happy pills please? Maybe it should have been at Rye? a good decent size track with decent racing for all four laps and some dirt on it too? Aye right!! And btw, is it ok to be racist in your remarks about Scotland on this forum?
  10. Broken vertebrae between the shoulder blades I'm afraid
  11. Can I save that quote Paul?
  12. Any news of Sunday's line-up yet? Or any news of when we will get news? I imagine it's probably difficult getting a decent line-up arranged with so many riders finished for the season and other meetings on Sunday too.
  13. Probably because England are not competing in the World Cup, just Team GB? But what was the reason? most heat wins?

Well done Cam - hope to see you back in the Blue and Gold!!
  15. I managed to pass Nicki P's motorhome on the M4 today without being pushed into the crash barriers :0
  16. Well done Jason, you've earned it over the whole season!

    The sjosten Brothers?

you're doing him down a bit Davy.... he was actually #2 in '82, and could have won it had the referee made the correct decisions... Thanks for correcting me Steve, you're right. The sensible thing for a rider to do is quit at the top, but the temptation for 'just one more season' must be immense. As Lioness said it is so sad seeing Les on one of his ever more frequent off-days. Suppose though it's down to the individual rider, if they're still enjoying it, they'll keep going.
  18. Still got to get the son to agree first Norbold, at the moment he is typing out the handwritten notes which I've not seen yet but I'll give him a nudge in the right direction soon ;-)

    The sjosten Brothers?

Says it all Sandman unfortunately, seen two examples of guys keeping going when they should quit this weekend, Les Collins and Barry Campbell...Apologies if this seems cruel but Les was no 3 in the world once, not even no 3 at glasgow now....other extreme, Barry has never recovered from a terrible injury, I really hoped he could hack it this year, but I'm afraid his confidence has gone. I cannot begin to understand what these two are going through on the track, but I hope that soon they will say, been there, tried my best, time to get out!!
  20. I have a mate who recently lost his father at the age of 90+...Jack's father was an early speedway rider in the London area and scribbled some of his thoughts down on paper a few years ago....along the lines of...who put that f..... fence there???? I am trying to get jack to discuss a booklet or make the memoirs available maybe for the vintage speedway mag? Will take a bit of time, but I think within a year we'll have a close up view of how to ride speedway in the 30's... probably much like now according to Frede Schott...drop clutch, turn left....sounds easy...lol

    Lukas Dryml Injury

Cyclone, couldn't agree more... didn't see the crash, (dont think I want to now...) The reason I try never to criticise riders is that they may not have the right of reply after their next meeting. Sorry if thisd sounds brutal, but our Sport is!!

    Johnnie S Hoskins

Thought this was easy - just had to re-read the history of the speedway hoskins....obviously not a complete history as middle name is not mentioned!! Apart from that, what an excellent wee book. - I can still picture Ian Hoskins in the centre of Old Meadowbank winding up the crowd....circa 1964....was just a boy - honest.
