From my experience the Brandon track has always held up well to a bit of rain, on many occasions after rain when its been thought it would be off its been on. I couldn`t believe it when I arrived today to see cars and vans on their way out. It does seem now even more so, that Mick is the innocent party in this pandemoneum. Theres NO excuses for todays call off, the stadium should pay compensation.... -

Thanks abbo for keeping us upto date -
Think `Had` is one of those that didn`t turn up to have it out with Mick. he`s got no Balls to back up his rants.

All credit to Mick Horton for eating humble pie, lets get on with winning the trophy now.

Apparently the stadium track staff were still working on the track upto near start time. Can somebody explain why they would do that when apparently everybody but Mick knew it was unraceable on Saturday. It doesn`t add up to me -

If Mick Horton had been in total charge of every aspect of the meeting I would have said yes he must take the can but he wasn`t. According to Mick he was over ruled regarding the preparation of the track. Next news you`ll be blaming Mick for the cold cup of tea you purchased at the tea bar... -
The track was saturated to the core, as can be seen by the recent flooding when the ground is saturated it does not soak in it remains on top and that is probably what happened on Sunday, even though there was only a small shower of rain it did not soak in coupled with there being no sun of any strength it was a recipe for disaster. IF on the Sunday it had dryed out everybody would have said why did Mick call it off so early... Micks not blameless in this scenario he definately made some mistakes but to a certain extent his hands were tied .

Lets all hope the events of Sunday don`t have an adverse effect on the team. Think everybody was high with anticipation for the new season and the new look team. Hopefully we`ll get off to a good start and the events of the weekend are soon forgotten..If the weather lets the meeting go ahead this should be an easy win with a good chance for the team to do some bonding.. Fingers crossed for some good sunny weather.. -

Personally don`t think the League riders should have been moved from its end of season slot, early or late season the weather is too dodgy and nowadays even mid season theres always a risk of rain . I`m one of the old ones who remember the Hyde Road League riders they were as good as a world final and a nice way to end a season. The idea of the League riders was for ALL the top dogs of the season to do battle against one another to decide the ultimate top dog its now been turned into a early season individual meeting, they spoil everything the BSPA. -
Its a rareity but hey I think this is going to be an Aces win, Think the Aces will have a good season this time and good luck to them..

Anybody would think this is the first time this has happened in front of Sky cameras.. It happened not long ago at Poole where the track situation was very similar to the Brandon track, seem to remember Bomber coming off his machine being unable to turn it in the pre meeting parade, there was a similar episode at Belle Vue when the track was unrideable and looked like a ploughed field, I also remember the Kings Lynn track a few seasons ago that too was virtually unraceable. The biggest problem with the Coventry meeting was that it was going to be a big curtain raiser, everybody had high expectations, a lot of people had booked their Sky package and yes it was a big disappointment but its not the first nor the last time it will happen..Its a difficult task knowing when to call off a meeting at the best of times especially when Sky are in town. -
Haven`t you seen it ? Its in the wotsit under the doodah.... Isn`t that where most tracks keep it ?

Unless Mick eats humble pie its all over for the Bees.. Assuming he doesn`t the only person who can save the Bees is Sandhu himself...

Shush don`t wake him/her up -
Thanks SCB.....Was wondering what we would do without the SKY programmes

I don`t have a problem with Sandhu selling the land, thats what he bought it for in the first place, the last ten years or so have been a bonus however it does seem a bit cloak and dagger on Sandhu`s part but again its his business what he does with his money. Most people in Sandhu`s situation would do the same ! I have too much respect for him to start slagging him off now, in my eyes he`s been a hero over the years.

You live in a fantasy world, who are these riders / fans who have booked flights , hotels etc. Its the middle of winter I doubt any fans or riders have pre booked any of these. the chances of it being on are very remote. get real....The Hotels in Poole will be empty its freezing there. -

I don`t have a problem with Havvy having any ammount of testimonials he can have a dozen for me but to expect ALL British Speedway to come to a halt for a meeting brought together between Matt Ford and Gary Havelock is a bit much. If Gary is as popular as he thinks he is there won`t be a problem everybody will be at Poole but I very much doubt it..... -

No. don`t agree with a lot of that. As I understand it and I must admit I`m not totally up on this but Havvy has had his testimonial and that should be enough. I personally had to give up working after nineteen years at the same company and they didn`t give me a testimonial or benefit meeting. I had to send begging letters to Edinburgh -
