Im interested Baggy. Stoke meeting preview can be found here Pickard & Webster against Hughes & Cockle should provide interesting racing, whilst the young stars less experienced riders always give a good account of themselves and are very entertaining. However with Stoke at full strength can see the Young Stars, having a long night. Rambo could well get a max in this one. Stoke 58 Young Stars 34

RT, your entitled to your opinion, and i know we amongst others have differences in opinion over this, but id like to understand where you stand on it as an actual issue and not just specifically in Cameron's case or Speedway's case, i don't want to jump to glaring assumptions and guess what you mean, so im going to post the following questions, but you reserve the right to not answer them is you so wish it. You state that you are proud to be British, and clearly you are a very passionate person, which i have a lot of respect for but do you consider yourself to be just British or do you consider yourself to be English/NI/Scottish/Welsh & British? Do you think that contrary to current regulations & international legislation regarding nationality, i.e. dual nationality/citizenship, that the only way you should be able to obtain nationality is by being born in a country? If yes do you have an issue with all other people having >1 nationality or specifically just sportspeople? Do you follow any other sports within whether they are (team or individual) under GB & NI or the Home Nations? If so do you have as much of an issue with the system in place universally across all sports? (There are a lot of indivulas as well as British international teams in numerous sports that have individuals qualified because of dual nationality or gaining citizenship or grandparents that are British or have Nationalities of >1 of the Home Nations) Also if Cameron chose to declare himself for GB & Team GB, or any other dual nationality Aussie, would you have a problem with them riding in the NL? Or if you believe that a person may only represent there country of Birth would you have an issue with them representing GB & or Team GB?

Interesting thread. I dont think Mr Hollingsworth deserves the insulsting reamrks directed at him on here, the posters who have insulted him are absoloutely indefensible and continually let themselves down with such remarks as well as reflecting poorly on Newport as a cluib. I stated on Updates that i thought he had disgraced himself on the updates and feel i should explain my viewpoint, hopefully without some Scunny fan jumping down my neck and making silly remarks, like the referee was bought of, or some comments about the Malletts, or some comments prefixed about me or the Malletts being Welsh. In the relevant match thread, i posted nothing containing my viewpoints on Mr Hollingsworth conduct, as i didn't want it to interfere or be jumped on as part of a post, that deserved to be praising Scunthorpe's performance, and celebrating there victory, as well as having time to reflect on what i wanted to say and attempt to give an assessment of his behaviour. For someone experienced & very well respected with a good reputation and representing Scunthrope as a club i thought he disgraced himself. Given that there are appropriate channels that he could have appealed to regarding both incidents, with the track & starting marshall, i was hugely dissapointed that he decided to take matters into his own hands on both occasions. Additionally he reacted to the crowd, this could have just been an expression of emotion and in good spirit, however that is not something i think is befitting a public role, or conducting oneself in a respectable manner. Additionally when Mark Jones fell he had no concern in his reaction at all whatsoever that Mark could have been injured, fortunately Mark wasn't injured, however he looked confused and very unsteady when he got up. I thought his conduct within his role as Team Manager, made him look naive, a petulant emotional kid, and not an experienced, thoughtful and collected adult who goes about his job in a professional manner that has earnt him a respected reputation within speedway. Additionally to that he seemed to have no concern for the image that was being reflected on Scunthorpe as a club. As a result of his behaviour i have lost some of the respect i had for him.

Reading on the BSPA website essential stadium work was being undertaken but has not been completed in the time frame advised. Therefore it has been called off. To be rearranged.

I was going to post the same thing. I think he will do pretty well everywhere once he's figured out the track. Be interesting to see what he averages by the end of the season. Edited now Baggy . Thanks for bringing my multiposting to my attention.

The Fen Tigers will be making the trip to QM on Monday the 30th of May. Should be a cracker, weather permitting. We should have enough to win this i feel, but if its as entertaining as the IOW match should be a cracker. Hoping Mattie Bates builds on his last QM performance, where he was simply sensational. JWW hopefully will be fully focused and put in a good performance for us. Any Fen Tiges fans making the trip down? Meeting preview here

Congratulations to Sam. Glad it was a great meeting & a fitting tribute to Ashley. -
Good luck with that, would be interesting to see how they do next year against a Full PL Side. You should come to Newport with a fixture as both Wanna & possibly SCB might be there to see it.

That was a general comment about it existing which it does.

Definitely, but then that also depends on the interpretation of the law tbh etc etc. I think it has been clearly stated that he couldn't ride over here on the specific type of visa mentioned that everyone assumes he is coming over on (unless an exemption applies in the interpretation of the Law), so i think he must be eligible a different way, or different rules apply due to his age. If he is here & riding illegally then fair enough, but none of us know that,i think its better to give him the benefit of the doubt, until we actually know, and as you say if he isn't then it will soon be found out.
-
No but ill give him the benefit of the doubt without seeing any documentation that he does. I really find it puzzling that people think that you can just walk in & they give you a free passport by saying im British. The qualification criteria for someone born abroad who has dual nationality & to get a passport is a lot more complicated than that, especially for someone who is under 16. If he has a british passport that means he is a british citizen (and to my understanding & im not an expert)then he qualifies for all the rights associated with it.
