And Lee is always excellent out front but struggles when he gets into traffic so that makes up for his issues but he probably blamed the track

It's easy to criticise when you have a brand spanking new stadium built for you. I enjoyed my visits to Kirku Lane as I very much enjoy my trips to Loomer Rd. I don't need sparkling facilities to enjoy myself. I was at the NSS on Friday following Leicester and I found it quite impersonal but difference of opinion. Is what makes the world go round. As far as I can see you have to be quite a technical rider to ride stoke and the NSS is just a flat out track. Again it makes Speedway what it is. Horses for courses. I enjoyed last night
  6. http://www.wightwarriors.co/blog/278-speedway-bryn-a-night-of-celebration Speedway Bryn A Night Of Celebration This Thursday the speedway fraternity will come together at The Andrew Younie Smallbrook Stadium to celebrate the life of the late Bryn Williams, the Warriors former stadium announcer and press officer who sadly passed away at the end of last year. ADMISSION TO THIS MEETING IS COMPLETELY FREE thanks to generous local and national sponsorship. Any surplus funds will be donated to the Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund Charity. The main event will see the Wightlink Warriors take on the nomadic Weymouth Wildcats in a fifteen heat challenge fixture which will be supported by demonstration races by The Men In Black on their vintage bikes. There will also be flying lap record attempts and lots of off track activities for the whole family. Co-Promoter Barry Bishop said: Bryn was a speedway legend having held nearly ever post imaginable at one time or another. I felt that we must pay tribute to him and recognise the huge amount of time he devoted to the sport, not only here on the Island , but at other tracks where he had an involvement. It is an honour and privilege to be able to stage this event and in doing so I am especially delighted to be able to welcome Bryns daughter Carys and her husband as our Guests of Honour. Making this a free event will, I hope, draw many new faces to Smallbrook. The Warriors are big on community, inclusiveness and fun and I will be going out of my way to ensure that everyone has a great time and will want to return. With the Warriors having had a week to recover from the troubles of the Good Friday meeting at Plymouth, the teams are expected to line up as follows: Warriors: Ben Wilson, Ben Hopwood , James Cockle, Chris Widman, Nathan Greaves, Rik Mullins, Jamie Sealey. Wildcats: Matt Williamson, Kelsey Dugard, Rob Shuttleworth, Mattie Bates, Georgie Wood, Kyle Bickley, Kenny Bowdery. Gates open at 17.30pm with the rider parade at 18.45pm and the first race at 19.00pm.

If s seasoned professional such as King is struggling then then what must it be like for Ayres. Let's not make the No.7 the whipping boy again to make excuses for the failings higher up the Team

    Leicester Lions 2017

That's a lot of changes to make in one go. I think Ayres has been dealt a bit of a crock. 1st season in the league and the protection has gone. He needs time. I'd stick with him. I hope Kim is advising him and he won't go far wrong
  10. So why wasn't he chosen for the place from the off? I suspect because he couldn't ride this weekend and the powers that be thought Ryan wouldn't travel for a couple of 'guest' rides. If that is the case they don't know the McDonalds very well and could have saved everybody a lot of grief by just explaining to him he wasn't quite what they were looking for, maybe even use difference, and ask just ask him to do a couple of meetings for them. I'm sure Ryan and Gordon would have obliged. Now his confidence has taken an almighty walloping. As if it wasn't low enough already. Anyway Good Luck to Jamie Couzins. It's fair to say non of this is his fault

    Lakeside 2017

It has to be said. Everyone practices better than they race. I would have thought Kelvin would have known that. Good Luck to Ryan MCDonald. At some point hopefully someone will give this lad the chance he deserves. Good Luck to Jamie Couzins too

    Lakeside V Eastbourne 14/4/17

Was that the one where there were a few MDL riders making the teams up. If it is, go with an open mind the Semi finals and final at the IOW yesterday were much better than anything I've seen in the Premiership
  15. Meeting preview taken from http://www.leicesterlions.co/_mobile/news.php?extend.30954.1 Gromolski must be ok LEICESTER are at full strength for their mouthwatering Monday trip to Wolverhampton. British champion Danny King is available and makes his club debut at Monmore - and Josh Auty also returns to the side. The Watling JCB Lions are in confident mood following their 48-42 home win over Swindon in the SGB Premiership on Saturday - their first victory at Beaumont Park on opening night since joining British Speedway's top flight in 2014. And while Wolverhampton suffered a 51-41 defeat at Rye House, Lions boss Jim Lynch says nobody can read too much into the opening results of the season. "Obviously we were delighted to earn the win over Swindon and it was an important one for the club with everything that's gone on over the winter," said Lynch. "The thing I've tried to get over to everyone is that we need to concentrate our efforts on winning as many meetings we can at home. "When we head away from home, every single time, I'm just going to tell my riders to enjoy it! "There's no easy place to go to in this league and I personally don't think that piling the pressure on the riders will benefit us at all. "What I do believe is that if they settle down, gel, go out there and enjoy themselves, that's when we may spring a surprise or two! "In my experience, getting on riders backs away from home doesn't help - when they're relaxed and loving their racing as a team, that's when a group can be frightening, in a good way, out there! "Wolverhampton will be disappointed to lose their opening match, but at home they're a totally different prospect. "I looked at their scorecard against Poole in the Elite Shield last week; they won by ten points and that was with the opposition reserve scoring a huge amount of points. "So we know how dangerous Wolves are at Monmore Green, but as I say, I'm giving my riders the freedom to go out there and enjoy themselves. "If we can something then so be it, but if we are unable to do so then we just turn out attentions to the next one!" WOLVERHAMPTON: Freddie Lindgren, Kyle Howarth, Adam Skornicki, Jacob Thorssell, Sam Masters, Max Clegg, Nathan Greaves. LEICESTER: Kim Nilsson, Josh Auty, Kacper Gomolski, Erik Riss, Danny King, Josh Bates, Danny Ayres.
  16. I was there and supported the Lions. He rode between the Start Marshall and the DJ box the officials had to move for him to get through. It's a tight alleyway. It was right to exclude him. End of

Is he able to ride ? It doesn't always follow that the rider is able.
  19. It's a travesty that Swindon have Grondal in the Team when Daryl Ritchings is sitting it out in one league with a team with limited meetings.
  20. I thought I'd pop this in this section as it is kind of 'General'' Wight Warriors celebrate the life of Bryn Wiiliams From Barry Bishop I am seeking sponsors from any company or individual who believes that Bryn Williams was an absolute superstar in British Speedway.
