  1. 2.30pm RACEDAY WEATHER CHECK: Will be leaving for track shortly and pleased to report that here on Kent side about a mile from the Dartford crossing it's blue sky and sunshine. Will post a final weather update circa 5pm.
  2. NOON RACEDAY WEATHER CHECK: A hot day out there despite high cloud cover for most of this morning and, importantly NO rain predicted. Met Office suggest temp at 8pm circa 19c. NO problems anticipated in terms of tonight's meeting going ahead Next update circa 2.30pm

    Leicester Vs Lakeside.

Bit puzzled by this WW as I don't think the Vortex Hammers are away to Leicester until August.

2.30pm RACEDAY WEATHER UPDATE: The sun is out, the sky is blue, there's a few white clouds that don't spoil the view and it's NOT raining here in my heart in Erith or outside a mile from the Dartford Crossing Kent side so no problems re tonight's match going ahead envisaged whatsoever. Next update circa 4.30 to 5pm from, Speedway Office at Lakeside.

NOON RACEDAY WEATHER CHECK: Brief bit of light drizzle here an hour ago here in Erith, Kent just a mile from the Dartford Crossing - not enough to cover the whole pavement / road. Sun still trying to break through. Next update circa 2.30pm before I leave for the track to answer all the "is it on" calls and, looking at hour-by-hour forecast for the area, NO problems envisaged.

  8. But I don't stick to some sort of script as you imply "Oldace" preferring to tell things as they actually are.
  9. WEATHER UPDATE: Fine, bright & sunny at 2.45pm - off to the track shortly to man the office and answer all the "is it on?" phonecalls!
  10. Never mind let's hope for better King's Lynn weather on July 19th!
  11. What a load of cobblers! It's on the website which is a good site, updated regularly and the club also have a Facebook page. And, given my mangled mitts I do practically everything (within reason! ) on the internet as do many of "similar age" to me, and indeed older than me!
  12. Don't forget the STRA meeting getting underway at noon tomorrow at the Adrian Flux arena at King's Lynn. See you there?
  13. Another childish personal remark from someone who hides behind an on-line name! Sadly such postings are becoming more and more prevalent on the BSF nowadays!
  14. Look at the club's website! And apologise to Jon Cook perhaps?
  15. 6.30pm Final Raceday Weather Check: Bright and sunny, track's fine and meeting ON! Don't forget the young 'uns take to the track at 7.30!
  16. 4.45pm Weather Check: At the track where it's dry, road top pits which I can see from here is dry- Meeting ON
  17. Followers of our sport who either live on the Isle of Wight or mainland areas within easy reach of it, are being urged to attend Thursday's (May 21) Fans Forum at the Ryde Superbowl which is scheduled to start at 7pm. It will firstly update everyone on what Barry Bishop and Martin Widman, the duo behind the bid to bring speedway back to Smallbrook stadium on the island, have achieved so far, and will be followed by an outline of plans for the rest of this year and into 2016 including a 'speedway school' as well as an update on the sponsorship situation from various organisations around the world and the revealing of a first offer of sponsorship from a firm based on the Isle of Wight itself. It is hoped too that there will be a video link or phone link to one or more of the international sponsors so that they can introduce themselves to the fans. All this will be followed by an overview of plans for finding and developing new young riders from the Island, ideas on how speedway will support Island life and the opportunity for fans to state their own views and quiz the duo. With so much planned for the evening, that'll be hosted by DJ Chris Popple, it sounds like an event not to be missed. I'm going!
  18. Indeed tonight is the night when all roads lead to the Ryde Superbowl complex at the Esplanade, Ryde for Island Speedway's much-publicised Fans Forum that will get underway at 7pm and will be hosted by DJ Chris Popple. It will be the first opportunity for everybody present, whether they have previously witnessed the sport first hand or not, to hear direct from Barry Bishop and Martin Widman who are the duo leading the bid to bring speedway racing back to the Isle of Wight. Tonight's event will no doubt include an update on progress achieved so far plus lots more including discussion on what lies ahead over the coming months as the build up towards achieving the ultimate goal of witnessing speedway at the Smallbrook stadium gathers pace. I'm going - see you there?

    Sheffo's Proctor Out!

The highlighted part of your post above is surely a massive unwarranted generalisation and might well lead to someone, other than myself I hasten to add, stating that anyone who makes 30,000 plus postings to any internet forum is a somewhat strange person.
