  1. Does anybody know if anybody films the meeting at Scunthorpe? because if the racing is that good it would be a shame if not.
  2. Ipswich need to lose by less than six points to go through on points difference. Easy!!! given that some Somerset fans claim that they have no home advantage even though they regularly rack up 60+ points
  3. We did manage to get a draw last season and that was with Jari Makinnen in the team. Earlier this season we lost by 20 but that was when Richie W and Cam were out of form, Adam was riding for lakeside so we had Max Clegg as a guest. We have a chance tonight and could be a tight meeting. A lot depends on which Gino turns up as he was struggling with his bikes last night as his best are probably in Czecho for the u-21 world championship. Maybe Chris could lend him one of his rocketships.
  4. It could be worse you could end up like Ipswich last season, by the time we got knocked out of the play-offs and were in the KOC final we finished with 3 of our 7 riders. Adam Ellis & Rohan Tungate got injured in the play-offs and Ben Barker & Leigh Lanham got injured in the KOC final. What a damp squib that turned out to be.
  5. I agree just get the maximum three points tonight and then try and get something from Scunthorpe tomorrow.
  6. You would have to move the refs box as well to the back straight, but I thought they were rebuilding the home straight stand anyway so the start line wouldn't need to be moved.
  7. I think Chris Gay should pay for the repair of the burnt out clutches, such a lovely smell. Why does he feel he has to hold the tapes for so long. Another meeting which dragged on because of his incompetence, and again he forgets to put the green light on and just lets the tapes go like he did the last meeting he refereed at Ipswich. When Auty fell in the last race when he lost his steel shoe the green lights came on and then he changed it to the red lights. Felt sorry for Richie as he was on for a paid max but sods law kicked in in the rerun and he only came third. Whole team perform well apart from poor G-Man who is counting the cost for a blown engine and his second bike didn't look set up for a small track and he was struggling to ride it. I think this group will come down to the results at Scunthorpe so hopefully Klindt will be back tomorrow at home and Scunthorpe win.
  8. That's what should happen in the southern group. One of the teams should be made to go to Ipswich Thursday as these playoffs have been know when they are taking place at the start of the season. With this group not now finishing until the 10th October, if there are any rain offs the final will be pushed to the final week of the season again.

    Ipswich 2014

Obviously Somerset didn't want to face us away when we still have Cam at reserve as I would imagine that he will switch with Ritchie Hawkins when they visit Foxhall on the 2ND October. I reckon this group could come down to points difference and home results could be crucial. If they weren't going to start the playoffs straight away what was the point of a cut off date. It could've been a week later.

    Peterborough Panthers 2014

What is going on at Peterborough, Ales Dryml has now quit the club with immediate effect due to his back injury. Something doesn't seem right at the club.
  11. Gino is guesting for Richard Hall, and it is R/R for Ales Dryml who has retired from British Speedway with immediate effect due to his back injury. All is not well at Peterborough with riders quitting in the last week.

    Comets Scrap Two Fixtures.

Get rid of the extra fixtures and ride home and away once and fit in a 4TT Qualifying meeting at every track.
  13. With no tactical rides allowed in this meeting I'll go for a 57-33 home win.

Witches V Panthers Thus Sept 4th Plextra

Finished the home league season with another convincing win and a five ride maximum from our new number 1. Shame I couldn't be there tonight as it was my sons gcse awards ceremony. Obviously not speedway fans, fancy putting it on a Thursday, no consideration . Good solid team performance by the looks of it and will have to watch the dvd. Lets hope they continue this form into the play-offs and stay injury free this year. I don't think anyone will want to pick us, so whoever finishes second in the table will probably get us in their group, unless Edinburgh collapse and we finish second.
  15. Does anyone know if GRT Media are still filming meetings as their website hasn't been updated with any meetings since April. I have tried phoning and emailing but got no replies. It's okay just checked website again and now it has been updated!
  16. I'm with you on this one Super Blue it should be a close one, but then I've thought that before recently and the Witches have smashed the opposition. Workington have riders who ride Foxhall very well as we tend to use them as guests when needed. Kyle Howarth looked good on that crap Coventry track Monday when a lot were struggling. Think this one will come down to the performance of the reserves.

    Peterborough Panthers 2014

That's exactly what happened to Ipswich last season in the playoffs and league cup final. Totally made the end of season a damp squib which promised so much but injuries happen in this dangerous sport.
  18. Just got home what an entertaining meeting with some close racing especially heat 13. Well done to the Witches on the three points gained tonight , although it could have been 4 if not for falls for Cam & Adam whilst on 5-1's. Good solid team effort. Peterborough carrying too many passengers, weak at reserve and Richard Hall was so far off the pace. Adam Roynan got better as the meeting went on. Lets hope he can stay injury free as he is talented as shown by two fine wins. Anyway if Ipswich remain undefeated at home should be in the play-offs now.
  19. So it sounds like there will be a few of us Ipswich fans there tonight to hopefully see an away win. I see that the new boys had some practice last night, they must be a little bit worried but practice ain't the same as riding against three other riders.
  20. Don't forget your passport
  21. I shall be going along to this one as you say with the new signings there is a chance of an away win. Hopefully Richie hasn't got any after effects from his crash at Rye as he said he was very stiff and sore when I spoke to him before his third ride. This could be another meeting decided by the reserves again so hopefully the Witches duo will carry on their good form.

    Rye House 2015

So who will Rye bring in to replace Anders Mellgren who has quit for the rest of the season due to his back injury, or will it be Mr. RR for a month as Len has requested a facility for 28 days.
  23. I think it was just one of those meetings for Richie W. Missed the start in heat one and just an inside line always means not a lot of passing in heat 1. Unlucky in his second race when he crashed after clipping Steve Boxall. Spoke to him after that crash and he said that he was very stiff and sore but after he spoke to Steve Boxall he said that Jason Garrity had locked up which caused Boxall to do the same and Richie had nowhere to go. Just glad to see both riders up and walking away from that. Looked like in his third ride he hit a slick bit of track entering third bend which spun him round. Anyway good four points for the Witches which didn't expect after Cam broke down while on a 5-1 in heat 12, but didn't think we would get a 5-1 in heat 15 but credit to Morten & Rohan for getting the result. Just hope Richie is fit for Peterborough. As for Rye apart from Edward & Jason Garrity they look low on confidence and riding the wrong lines on the track as Ipswich were riding out wide and going past. Jason Bunyan apart from his first ride looks like he would rather be elsewhere and was just going through the motions. Mellgren looked rusty but that is to be expected after being out for a while. I didn't want either of them in the team but Morten has shown very good consistency this season, maybe as he has been injury free.

    Peterborough Panthers 2014

I agree that they may need a few meetings to get up to speed as I don't know how much Adam Roynon has ridden since being dropped from Plymouth, but the meeting at Ipswich he looked way of the pace. I know he had been out a while but he usually goes well around Foxhall. The same for Richard Hall, how much speedway has he actually ridden since April. Could be a good time to go to Peterborough. At least Joe Jacobs won't win the meeting for you and win heat 14 this time.
