    Poole 2015

Because with Newman at reserve he can potentially have 7 rides might be the reason?

    Swindon 2015

Personally I would not be at all surprised to see Mads back as a Robin this year, leaving room for an out and out number 1 (if one can be found) and potentially room for improvement from the enigmatic Dane? We shall have to wait until Wednesday I guess?

    Swindon 2015

What a good idea, will probably fall on deaf ears at Government level, but at least it is showing unity and common sense.

    Poole 2015

That may explain Holder's Visa issues if he doesn't have a clue who he might be riding for as it is being implied he will be cast aside if Ward is given a green light? Perhaps he needs to wait and see who wants him? If he is cast aside then that is grossly unfair as he has been very loyal and I would take him in my side any day.

    Poole 2015

This is getting like a playground soap opera come Pantomime, keep up the good work you two. He's behind you ........... Oh no he isn't ............... Most entertaining 😄

    Swindon 2015

Because he wants to ride in this Country, but for somebody else perhaps?

    Swindon 2015

As I recall (correct me if I'm wrong) the season of discontent when Batch first returned to Swindon and Peterborough wanted a full transfer, it did not follow that route as there was no place for Batch in the Panthers team or offer of such, whereas it seems Swindon have a place for Doyle and have made him an offer? On that basis I think Mr H needs to put his hand deep into his pocket for an appropriate (EL#1/GP rider) fee if he wants Doyle to ride for him this year?

    Swindon 2015

Personally I am happy to see Batch back, at least he wants to ride for the Robins which I think is a very important factor. He has certainly matured as an individual and I think has some improvement left in him as a rider. I just hope he will not be the Robins No 1 because I don't think he's ready for that yet. Fingers crossed for some more positives next week or whenever they announce the next piece of the jigsaw.

    Swindon 2015

I do not have the knowledge of his history or scoring record elsewhere to comment, but agree that Milik was always a mockery on 4, but no matter what the assessment method is there will always be the odd one who gets a false average (strange how they usually seem to ride in Blue & White though lol). Let's hope the rules agreed are fair and adhered to by all and 2015 is a better season for the sport.

    Swindon 2015

I think he looks a fine prospect, has good attitude and equipment. Given that his spanner man should have a good knowledge of Blunsdon and most Elite League set ups, I think he should be worth a punt. But of course it all depends on points limits, format and assessed average attributed!

    Swindon 2015

In fairness to Nick & Troy, I remember seeing Leigh 'God on a Speedway Bike' Adams celebrating after winning the Elite League as a guest for Poole, and nobody on this planet would question Leigh's commitment to the Robins, perhaps we are judging the two 'guest winners' harshly? It's tough not to get caught in the euphoria of the moment.
  12. I watched this quite late last night and must stress I am a supporter of neither team. I thought given the weather that had preceded, the track was decent (especially given the poor surface at Coventry most of the year), but was clearly never going to withstand much rain. For Coventry I thought Harris and Howarth were excellent, but the great white hope Garrity proved he has little finesse when it's not a ploughed field. Barker was dangerous like usual and the rest didn't really look interested. Poole looked solid and all gave a decent performance with Newman looking the real deal. In regards to SKY, I guess they have a right to dictate a meeting being run to mirror programming requirements as they have paid rather a lot of £££ for that privilege. Did they favour Poole in the way it was done, I think not. Let's keep our fingers crossed for a decent track for Monday and some decent racing to decide the Play Off Champions. PS Why do they keep letting Havvy on screen being interviewed, I can hardly understand a word he says and those I can appear to be utter drivel, I feel for Coventry fans. Middlo may say some daft things, but compared to Havvy he's an interview God lol
  13. I turned on and took one look at the track and wished I'd bet heavily on Coventry tonight. It seems when Swindon and Coventry meet if it's dry and a well prepared track Swindon are the winners, if it's wet and a poor circuit Coventry win. Well ridden Coventry you seemed better prepared for the poor racing circuits that were presented so no arguments from me as a Robins follower, when it boiled down to it we were beaten by the team that seemed to want it more. I just hope the final is a better spectacle than the semis have been, because for me speedway has been the loser with the weather ruining any chance we had of enjoyable competitive quality speedway in the semis, C'est la Vie. Let's hope for a safe final with decent race tracks to watch it on, but given the likely finalists and the time of year, I fear it will be a ploughed field final too

    Pirates 2014

Ooh I love a good petty argument where no party actually knows what actually happened Reading the updates I thought it sounded like a huge over reaction by Josh, especially as I have never known Steady to make any dirty move on a speedway bike, but that's only my guess because I wasn't there? I'm sure it was hard, but if it was too hard, then that's what the ref was there for, as it appears he saw nothing wrong with the move, I will have to trust his judgement, but the worse thing is that it's another moment of stupidity causing a negative outcome in our already struggling sport. Too many foreign (and one or two British) Prima Donnas these days who think they're far better than they really are IMO. That said, I can't really see how Gavan was being anti Poole with his interpretation, whereas Starman I think you may have rather over reacted, perhaps it's a Poole auto defence mechanism? Let's play nicely boys

    Belle Vue - Swindon 10-9-14

Settle for a point, fingers crossed for an Eastbourne continuation of their fine away form.

    Robins 2014

I have just got round to watching this and thoroughly enjoyed it, it certainly brought back many happy memories for me. What I found most refreshing was the obvious friendship and respect when Sir Phil effectively wiped Jon Cook (not Phil's fault) out and they just shrugged their shoulders and shook hands, how sport should be.
  17. Can only see the weather winning this one, 25-50mm of rain forecast, the majority during the afternoon, so I feel it most unlikely that there will be any speedway at the Abbey tomorrow night?
  18. Fair summary, well done Coventry, good win for you, huge defeat for speedway
  19. I'm sorry but the track is pants as has been the whole meeting. It's a shame because this should've been a good match to watch rather than a joke referred by the joker. Poor advert for speedway on what used to be a good race track.
  20. Can't see Swindon making the play offs myself, but here's hoping.
  21. I don't think Havvy's pissed, he's just a knob!
  22. I'm not sure which is worse, this refs continuing vendetta against Swindon or the state of the track? Combine the two and it's made an awful advert for speedway, the sport is dying on it's ass as can be seen by the lack of a crowd at a previously well supported track!

    Scott Nicholls

In fairness to Scott he had an impossible job to follow the legend that is Leigh Adams, I think Scott had a poor season and was maligned by many. That said, I don't think he stopped trying and I think the point of this thread is less about him as a rider and more about him as a person. He comes across very well on TV as a pundit, his Twitter feed portrays him as a balanced caring family (gorgeous wife lol) man and I would not be disappointed to see him in an ambassadorial role for the sport in Britain in the future. If not, just let him replace Kelvin on Sky, at least he comes across as knowing what he's talking about!

    Robins 2014

Steve, but for everybody but the Robins
  25. I'm just annoyed at the pair KL put out in 15, rather ruined my bet on Schlein to score 8
