Without affiliation to the FIM, riders from GB would not be able to race anywhere outside these Isles, no international competition, World Championship participation, etc. And riders from other countries couldn't risk coming here if it closed all other doors.

BEING pedantic but the Post Office and Royal Mail are now separate entities ... Royal Mail and the Post Office are separate companies with independent Boards. Royal Mail is the company that delivers parcels and letters – the provider of the universal postal service. The Post Office is the nationwide network of branches offering a range of postal, Government and financial services.

NOT sure Polish speedway is run by the government. Local officials may be involved but not on a national level.

YES ... and don't think PC is doing weddings anymore

WE will shortly be publishing details of how subscribers to the print edition of SS and who do not receive their copy by a Friday will be able to email Pinegen with their name and postcode and receive a link to that week's digital version free of charge. While we like to think that last week's problems with Royal Mail were abnormal, who knows? We actually did not have enough office copies to send as replacements and those that we do require a normal first class postage charge. We appreciate that there are those who like to keep their printed copies and we will also endeavour to send those out when necessary.

THAT seems to be the case ... phew!

WE are in the process of establishing a system whereby those who email us when not receiving their copy of SS on a Thursday or Friday will be able to email subs@pinegen.co.uk and receive a link to access that week's copy.

FROM one subscriber ... I was about to ring the speedway star to tell them I hadn't received my magazine since 26th September!This week I've received 3 magazines, 1 on Monday, 1 on Tuesday and this weeks magazine has arrived today!So much reading

HADN'T heard this ... devastating news. Had known Zenon since 1972, helped Ivan and Briggo acquire his visas to race in Australia, New Zealand and America and, of course throughout his time in the UK. Always enjoyed a catch up when we met at SGPs. So sad ...

APPARENTLY not ...

WE have documented evidence that RM did not process a large number of subscriber copies on time this week. And we do complain to them without any meaningful answers.

WE have had huge problems with Royal Mail deliveries of SS. Our printers can trace copies through the Mailmark system and say that five other publications despatched by them last week also had problems caused by Royal Mail. We have also had postmen and women tell us that they are having to prioritise parcel deliveries ahead of normal mail. It would appear that many subscribers as with Skidder1 are now receiving their copy, albeit days late. Our apologies.

THANK you ... have got some really good features coming up in the next few weeks. No credit to me, incidentally, but Editor Andrew Skeels along with his editorial contributors have been terrific in coming up with new ideas.

TEMPTING but if first class is bad how much worse would second class be? The additional hardship for us is that the cost of sending out replacement issues, which we do when possible, comes with a postage charge of over £1 for each one. It all adds up... But even this week the non-arrival of SS appears to be less than one per cent of those despatched. Digital has one massive advance ... it is 'delivered' at one minute past midnight each Thursday morning.

McQueen was determined to 'slide' a speedway bike and Briggo taught him to do so. Briggo was a friend of Brown and, in fact, still lives in the house he bought from Bruce in Dana Point, south of LA.

THIS is certainly the worst week we have experienced and it isn't localised so no explanation there.
