    Cardiff 2017

put them in their own pen, er I mean area of the stadium.
  2. yeah, i think he would be advocating a second half or junior match but thank u once again for your positive attitude by the way - i don't agree with him - we got rid of 13 heats for a reason
  3. i suspect hardly anyone uses public transport to get to some tracks - Somerset e.g.
  4. the great Bert Harkins has said recently 2 valve were fine and its all gone downhill since then
  5. maybe if the bikes weren't rockets (something fans don't give a toss about) then they could cope with less than perfect surfaces
  6. I think one or two things are moving in generally the right direction - I think its a massive thing but its time we prepared for life after GP riders. We need one British League and a NL but the BL would have to be cheap enough for Scunny, Worky, etc to be able to exist in it. In any case after Brexit it may be quite difficult to employ non UK riders while UK riders are available. There ARE enough riders IMO but there isn't we have to go to 6 man teams. It really is time to face harsh facts, however local heroes are popular - I've never supported a top tier side it was always div 2 and nothing gave me more pleasure than watching Wilcock, Dixon, etc - and they weren't world class but were loved by Teessiders
  7. there seems to be much housing around that site - more houses more nimbys - wish you all the best though
  8. yes i could see many of those riders opting out - big deal - the sport is bigger than them. When there was a big 1st division there were plenty of blokes who were virtually unbeatable - Briggs, Mauger, etc and plenty of reserves and second strings without a hope of beating them - didn't make it a bad sport. The top boys had 10 and 11 plus averages so that shows the disparity but it wasn't a problem - quite the reverse
  9. given that there'd be around 18 teams you can fit home fixtures in less than 5 months leaving enough time for cup matches, a pre season warm up. Not all Championship clubs would want to get involved IMO - the NL would then be around 12 or so clubs. We may also lose Lakeside and Swindon altogether

    Rye House 2017

do the Bears have first call??

    Speedway World Cup 2017

the joker ruins this competition - its nothing short of pathetic also BV should host this - nowt wrong with KL but its supposed to be National Stadium
  12. well they are probably two of the most crucial issues the sport is facing.
  13. be good to have a British Open at BV with an invited field of say 6 or 7 brits and a stellar cast from the rest. British Open is a recognised brand name and a TV company would probably be interested bit like the old Internationale but with a recognisable brand tag

    Too Much Change?

I mentioned this team earlier - they had Storer, Brown and Keeter all struggling from time to time yet stuck with them. I'm sure the fans were behind them and formed a bond. DD/DU simply has to go if the sport wants credibility - if it doesn't - fine, carry on and I do not believe there aren't enough riders - they said that in 1969 when bl2 expanded but they found riders ok
  15. I know someone who is a relative of 1933 unofficial world champion Harry Whitfield and has some memorabilia to sell. I have no further details but I am happy to pass on her email address to serious collectors. Message me on here - hope this is ok

    Too Much Change?

Leicester - 68 or 69 i think made one single change in a single match
  17. I don't believe there is a facility for relegation to the NL - just from PL to CL so relax in any case I believe there will be more changes this winter which may see a larger CL
  18. very good point about the shape - I have long wondered why Newcastle don't have a shorter and wider circuit - I for one do not like watching there which is a shame because its only a mile from my home!
  19. I think it is in a better place - unfortunately not reflected in attendance growth at the moment Next steps? Reduce the DU/DD to more manageable level and work towards getting rid. NL seems to work for most of its clubs doesn't it? - perhaps this is the level for Championship clubs
  20. thank god we've cleared that one up!
  21. he's a temporary replacement - not a permanent signing, when his time with us is up he'll move on
  22. wasn't aimed at you - it was at MD who is being stupid. Bears do feel hard done by as would Tigers had things gone their way - it'll blow over independent body needed - has been needed since teams adopted the win at all costs attitude
  23. sly dig here and the other post. Grow up
