the KOC isn't a league title but that has meaning i was just trying to suggest a compromise - i myself think the play offs work well as a crowd puller but it just feels like a swizz sometimes
-
the league winners are the champions and the top 4 go into a play off championship - call it what you will that way its win win both camps get what they want
-
squads squads squads
-
A STRONG independent body is needed - one with the cojones to upset individual promoters for the greater good
-
actually your post illustrates that there is some concensus: presentation, pricing, etc etc - just as you say above yes its a bigger question how to address these things but its not exactly rocket science and if there was more direction rather than individual interests it should be possible the very very first thing any such direction should address is costs. Its the same in any business - you live or die by cost control.

or when Lasse Bjerre pulledout of the Rye House v Redcar meeting dur to injury then rode at Wolves later the same day ha ha
-
PL fan here - i loved last night
-
NL STANDARD riders in the EL perhaps
-
no i think some of the fans think NL/PL is better in some respects. I'm sure the promoters know what they're doing. My own opinion is that EL is a dead duck.
-
perhaps its not what they want because NL/PL is a better product in their view to which they are fully entitled
-
agreed again put your tin hat on though
-
agreed
-
yeah, i think the fan base started deteriorating first to be honest
-
you've lost me there like
-
i agree completely MattK - the 64000 dollar question is - and always has been - at what level? Remember what happened last time? Berwick, Redcar, Worky, Scunny - these clubs can't pay for EL heat leaders. But as i've said before - the very idea of weakening the EL causes riots on here
-
the Bears Talk site reports that the whole track has been relaid
-
whats the answer then SCB - plough on and hope for the best?
-
it was ever thus - the bigger clubs in the tope division, smaller lower down the worrying thing is the amount of clubs who were big time at one time or another operating in lower leagues - Sheffield, glasgow, Ipswich, etc etc trust me very few people would want to take the risk of moving up because of costs - theres a post on another topic berating teams who don't want to go up but the poster isn't risking hundreds of thousands. Everyone goes bananas when i say this, which i do quite often, but EL simply has to make itself more affordable which means weakening teams and thats when people go crazy because they can't live without big names. To them anyone outside of the GPs is a 'wobbler' and then they go crazy again when there isn't the money to pay for Tai.
-
the thing is new ventures always have big crowds then they tend to tail off so its a big risk
-
mugs if they do although EL will be desperate for numbers next year

Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?

thats an unfair comment - the money on offer would have been far less than elsewhere. Some of you people need to get real these are professionals who do it for a living. -
cock-up rather than walk out. 1969 i think Teesside v Canterbury - the Crusaders were carrying their men and machines in a converted bus which broke down. Somehow Ron Wilson cobbled together a Northern Select team to replace them - including Barry Crowson who was travelling seperately and Alan Knapkin there was an announcement that you could leave the stadium and get a refund or readmission or whatever but very few did in my memory. Ron Wilson had his critics but he ran a tight show and i don't recall many weather call offs - not while he had sawdust to sprinkle

nobody accepts (i think you meant to write) there are jokers at Cardiff. And maybe that gentleman did have troubles with the scorecard i dont know yes massive crowds turned up in the past when there were daft rules, meaningless fixtures, etc etc but they aren't now are they? I'd just like to discuss why and i don't care how many negative comments are made on that journey
