We've always had a rivalry going back to Blackadder, Owens, etc Blackadder nearly got me murdered one night as i was walking past the cenotaph on Linthorpe Road on the way home from a Diamonds match at CP me and my 2 mates were talking heatedly about Blackadder who had done something despicable as usual when a white bloke walked past with a black girfriend and assumed we'd commented about her and proceeded to attack me with a broken bottle. luckily my programme board was made of wood and i rammed it into his teeth and made my getaway. well it shouldn't be complicated at all but they try to block cheating. when i started watching speedway in 1968 i dont recall that there were rules just the rider control to even out teams i can't remember whether there were fiddled cheat line ups or not it didn't seem to be an issue

i couldn't agree more with you but finding a profitable model would require the exclusion of some big names from the bigger clubs and without an independent body providing the impetus and direction required you fear it might not happen. and you are quite right if promoters started to make a profit no one would begrudge them the money and of course not relying on greyhound landlords and their lousy low terracing would be great

we should really stop and smell the coffee before its too late - we can not afford the world class talent merge the 2 leagues at pl level or very slightly higher and watch the world class riders in open meetings, GP, etc and for heavens sake find a way of cutting machinery costs in our leagues - let the other leagues/GPs do what the hell they want but we have to find a way to survive and the futility of trying to compete with Sweden and Poland is not the way to survive

riders can't be forced - there are emplyment laws - plus who would want a rider who doesn't want to be there

demands might be sky high but Glasgow can only sign 7 blokes - the rest of the league should pay only what they can afford - if Glasgow win the league by 20 points good luck to them - see what happens to the crowds with 5-1 after 5-1 TBH i don't see the big problem - Eastbourne, Cradley and Birmingham have found an answer and any other track can do the same a competitive league with English mainly young riders - whats not to like frankly

it will be a very ineresting situation if the judicial review finds in his favour. Evans comes out of this with no credit at all but he's been to jail. I think there's much self serving hysteria around this now and plenty of bandwagon jumping.
