    Plymouth 2017 N/l?

Hi Devilman Not the best place to discus this I know, but the new promotion would do well to invite CD & guest to the arena & trust they like what they see. I have meet CD face to face he's a very down to earth person despite his wealth & most importantly has a motorcycle background............. Good luck to the devils for 2017, can you confirm your race day... not Fridays PLEASE!

Have you been in contact with Chris Dawson (THE RANGE) he used to race pre'65 scrambles. As a very successful businessman he won't just had you a load of cash - you will have to show you have something worth buying!!!! good luck for 2017.

    Belle Vue National Stadium

Council officials should be transparent with their actions & taxpayers money, but obviously not in Manchester! looks like we have a choice: 1. Don't ask contentious questions & get Belle Vue Speedway in 2017. or 2. Ask contentious questions, get delays & have no Belle Vue Speedway in 2017.

    Stoke Potters 2017

This is not good for G.B. Speedway, this team should not be approved by the BSPA/SCB the "3rd." division should be all about developing young British riders. I can also state that a few years ago I refused to ride in this league for that reason!

    Belle Vue National Stadium

What have we here? a lot of people with views of what actions SHOULD have taken place! I think the whole thing is a technical legal mess with solicitors rubbing their hands with glee. The new Belle Vue is the best race track in the U.K. without a doubt & a must-have for a successful 2017 G.B. Premiership. Speed is not what solicitors do, unless things get sorted quickly are the Aces going to be at the tapes for 2017?

    Somerset 2017

Come on all you Rebels supporters - now we are in the top division we need plenty of activity on this forum. My biggest disappointment is the selection Graveson for 2017 I can't see Garys thinking behind that one - time will tell!!

    Plymouth 2017 N/l?

Well done "Captain" most UK riders should have at least a part time job as well as riding once & a bit per week. Did I see somewhere that a National league reserve had a full time mechanic? if that is fact then it's plain ridiculous!!!!
  9. I have nothing personally against Jan Graversen BUT I think Gary is pushing his luck this time! Graversen has had numerous opportunities in the UK to prove himself & failed, the only thing he seems good at is obtaining a low average for the following season. Gary must have a reason for JGs team selection, what is it?

    Plymouth 2017 N/l?

I agree team suits CAN look professional BUT 5 riders in team suits & 2 others in something completely different look very unprofessional therefore defeating the whole objective. Speedway in 2017 should be all about running within ones budget & not wasting money on something that's not needed.

Come on then Mark & Laurence if your fans dislike the proposed Devil so much, run a competition for a new Devil/ Devils logo run it in conjunction with the local paper the Herald & present the winners with a signed race jacket on opening night!

Please see my post from a little while ago............. Team selection could be very interesting, I think the 4 things to consider @ this level are: Talent, Commitment, Youth & living relatively local. Therefore you can add the very talented Zac Wajknecht to the mix & I ask does anyone know where will Nathan Stoneman be living next year? Unfortunately there's not much local Grasstrack nowadays for potential Devils. With a young team you will need a good advisor (Coach) as so many riders @ this level don't even ride the bike properly = avoidable injury's & lack of progression. Best of luck to the devils in 2017.

    Redcar 2017

Copied form Refs section: Something for all refs to look forward to in 2017: Sit in their box overseeing a Redcar Bears meeting featuring: Garrity, Hall, Wright & Barker! It will be fireworks every meeting. It will be VERY interesting how the 2017 season pans out for the Bears some success long overdue.

Buy riding the bike properly I mean in the manner of: Leigh Adams, Peter Karlson & Tai Woffenden etc.. Not in the manner of say Jason Garretty who you can't fault for effort. I clearly remember Tai's first visit to the SBA. Why did he go so well? he rode the bike properly! It wasn't by having things like flash transport, that was an old Escort van...

    Speedway Agm

Sorry I seem to have put a stop on "the AGM" I also think the proposed Premiership & Championship strengths are to close, I think any current "Premier rider" with average of 8.00+ should be in with the big boys. "Forced" promotion will not work.

Team strengths/ averages etc. It would seem that the BSPA have not thought through the new team averages for our new leagues for 2017. I think it would have made more sense to firstly tell the riders what's on offer i.e. points money, number of meetings etc. then get a commitment from the riders to participate in 2017 U.K. speedway. ONLY THEN can you determine team strengths, conversion rates for averages, amount of double up/down to allow etc. It's not rocket science to know that in the perfect speedway world the average rider is 6.00 (50%) an unbeatable rider is 12.00 (100%) a very poor rider beating no-one is 0.00 (0%). The average team is 42.00 (50%) that is the figure you should gear your points limit & conversion rates around once you have determined what strength you want your leagues to be. It is not possible for a rider to have an average higher than 12.00 (100%). Speedways points average is a fantastic toll to determine team strengths - something many other sports would love to have so lets use it wisely & to its advantages.
  20. Starman you are wrong Neil Street did spot them - he could see the talent & potential. One of the few not spotted but recommended to him was Craig Boyce, but ask Craig how much an influence Neil Street was to him as manager of Poole & Australia. Ask Julian Wigg what influence he had on Simon during his Weymouth days. Those of us who knew "Bill" personally regret he never had a book written on his lifetime in speedway.
  21. If you checked out the riders who rode for all the best team managers, & then check the greatest percentage of improvement per rider then I think Neil Street would come out on top. Neil had the eye to spot talent & then knew how to improve & develop that talent. Just a few names: Crump, Boyce, Wigg, Nicholls, Scolfield, NKI.

I agree with around the boards (again) the EL is not the place for Somerset. If they were to re-brand as the Bristol Bulldogs & spent big time on advertising that could work?
