    Team Place Tim Webster

Im sure no rider can be signed who is already in a sides "official" 1-7 after 31st August. So If Tim isn't in a decleared teams 1-7 he can sign for Newport to replace Mark Jones. I think thats how the rules go . But then again this is Speedway
  2. The Finns did this in Event 2 on Monday at Kings Lynn putting Kylmakorpi in Heat 21 replacing Lahti as a TS/Joker So it would seem like you are allowed to use it Would just like to say. Good luck to Team GB, it would be great to win it. But I'd be happy with any Medal come the end of Heat 25.
  3. Yes you can buy tickets on the day
  4. You bet mate, Im sure it'll be great Requests taken by PM
  5. From what Ive heard, seen & have been told Im afraid you couldn't be any further a way from the truth than you are. Kings Lynn cant wait to stage this meeting & are really looking forward to put on a good meeting/show. So maybe they could hold the SWC again or another major FIM event in the speedway calender. To say that they dont wanna stage it at all, your miles off im afraid. Im sure I heard that the Team GB line up will be announced on the SKY meeting tomorrow (Monday) along with the 2011 Cardiff date.
  6. I agree with you there Steve. Joe seemed to be flying today. He was using that outside a treat & looked very fast. Gotta say he looks nicely kitted out this season. With regards to the traffic, I would go through Wisbeach & come up to Kings Lynn on the A47 missing out Sutton Bridge

    U-21's At Rye

Its at Kings Lynn but will be run under the Boston Promotion I believe. Although Im sure the Boston & KL management will work together on this meeting
  8. IMHO I think the Wildcard should be Stead & the reserves will be Kennett & Bridger
  9. Ben Wilson won it last year, hence him being seeded into the final
  10. So instead of Richie going, they offer the spot to Cal McDade who would have had to travel even further than Richie
  11. Scunthorpe Line up Josh Auty Gary Beaton James Cockle Benji Compton Jamie Courtney Richie Dennis Joe Haines Kriss Irving Simon Lambert Darren Mallett Scott Richardson Jamie Robertson Sean Stoddart Andrew Tully Tai Woffinden Charles Wright

  13. Hi I was looking at some old Boston stuff the other night & was really looking for an ariel view, but I couldn't seem to find one in the books ive got. So I was wondering is there anybody out there that could email me an Ariel view of the Old Hammond Beck Road track where the Barracudas once raced. Would somebody have a pic of Boston's old track on there PC? or even a paper photo that they could scan & send me please? Hopefully there is someone out there that can help me? If you can help me out, then please either PM me or email me bravesspeedway@aol.com Thanks in advance Ben

  19. Memorial meeting ‘Lincs’ up with Gold Appeal The fourth David Nix Memorial Speedway meeting, to be held on Friday 29 September at King’s Lynn’s Saddlebow Arena, will, this year, link up with local BBC Radio Lincolnshire’s Gold Appeal. Committed to raising funds for children’s charities, the organisers of the now annual event will donate all profits towards the appeal, which will send siblings of disabled children and other “young heroes” to see the real Father Christmas in Lapland. Another exciting line-up is in prospect with current holder and David’s cousin, Darren Mallett (Boston Barracuda Braves), a confirmed rider. Other confirmed riders are Adam Roynon (Buxton), Jonathan Bethell (Buxton), Richie Dennis (Scunthorpe), Barry Burchatt (Rye House), James Purchase (Mildenhall), Karl Mason (Newport), Karlis Ezergallis (Newport) and Ben Barker (Stoke). To ensure maximum funds can be donated to BBC Radio Lincolnshire’s Gold Appeal, sponsors are sought for each of the heats, the semi-final and final. Companies or individuals who wish to advertise in the programme, regarded as a collector’s item, are also welcome. For further information on sponsorship and/or advertising, please contact Patrick Nix on 07946 344096. BBC Radio Lincolnshire’s Gold Appeal is hoping to take 100 “Child Heroes” to see the real Father Christmas. Two years ago the station raised more than £100,000 and took 100 seriously ill and severely handicapped children to meet Santa in Lapland. When the Trustees met the families of the children they realised that often they have a sibling who can be overlooked because of all the care and attention that has to be given to their sick brother or sister. So now the Gold Charity’s Trustees want to build on the success of the 2004 appeal and raise a similar amount to fly these children to Lapland, along with other “young heroes” – children who have been very brave or who care for a parent or grandparent and deserve a special treat. David Nix died while racing for King’s Lynn at the home track on 1 May 2002 when he was just 25 years old. Born and raised in Boston, he and his father Patrick were a familiar sight at Conference League meetings across the country. Patrick Nix still attends meetings regularly at King’s Lynn as an official for Boston Barracuda Braves and on other occasions acting as mechanic for Carl Wilkinson, one of this season’s most exciting Premier League riders and who used to compete with David. Since 2003 an individual challenge for invited Conference League speedway riders has been held in David’s memory each season, with all profits benefiting a children’s charity. To date, over £4,000 has been raised. For further information on the David Nix Memorial Fund contact Patrick Nix on 07946 344096
  20. Memorial meeting raises over £1400 The 2006 David Nix Memorial Speedway Meeting, held on 29 September at the King’s Lynn Norfolk Arena, has raised over £1,400 for BBC Radio Lincolnshire’s Gold Appeal. Nearly 400 spectators enjoyed an evening of top class Conference League Speedway with 16 riders vying for the coveted David Nix Trophy, won this year by Nathan Irwin who rides for the Boston Barracuda Braves. Since David’s death, while riding at the Norfolk Arena in 2002, his father Patrick has organised an annual memorial meeting raising funds for children’s charities, this year benefiting the local radio station’s charitable trust, set up to send children to see the real Father Christmas in Lapland. Patrick said: “I would like to thank all the riders that took part and everyone who helped, either by sponsoring heats, giving their time, volunteering, spectating or by donating prizes for the raffle, for making the evening yet another success.” ENDS Editor’s Note: A handover of the cheque for £1,408.70 is being arranged and it is hoped this will take place “on air” during one of BBC Radio Lincolnshire’s daytime programmes. 21. Taken from the Official Boston Website. Could Be Great News For The Linc's Trophy (26-09-06) This week the Boston “NC Williams & Son – Insurance” Barracuda-Braves stage the historic Lincolnshire Trophy at Kings Lynn on Sunday evening (7.30pm) with a strong field taking part which includes former winners James Birkinshaw and Rob Hollingworth both looking to regain the title. They will face strong opposition from many of the current Boston riders plus Tai Woffinden and Richie Dennis from Scunthorpe and Mildenhall’s Mark Thompson and Andrew Bargh. But Boston supporters will be pleased to hear that their teenage ace Simon Lambert may be fit to ride in the event after weeks on the sidelines with a broken arm. Lambert has had one or two practice sessions and although he has suffered discomfort his medical advisors will decide this week whether or not he is fit to return to track action. The Lincolnshire Trophy which has its roots in the palmy days at New Hammond Beck Road is always an exciting event as the riders compete for sponsor’s cash prizes and it is hard to forecast the eventual winner.
