6 minutes ago, Mr. Clemens said:You can, there is an icon in the top right corner, I turn off the coontater and just have the stadium noises (discovery Plus)
Had to turn the sound off because of Tatum's inane prattling.
There should be a facility provided where you can turn the commentary off but still here all the other sounds

2 hours ago, Noodles said:It's on the anniversary of when you signed up - so will expire 29th May. Shame you didn't sign up a few weeks back when they had a years pass for £29.
Thats a bummer! did not even know the channel existed until yesterday, ah well least I will get to see the GP's this year, thanks

I am on the verge of subscribing to Discovery Plus, for £6.99 per month, please, does anyone know do they class a month as a calendar month or 30 days from the day you sign? The reason I ask, looking at their speedway schedule, IF I sign up on say the 29th April, then I can get three GP's in the 30 day period, plus the domestic coverage as well, seems like a bargain!

resorted to watching this with the TV sound muted,
cannot tolerate the "shouty twins" any longer!!

At last! A grand Prix that I could watch, and enjoy, with the sound on, BT please stick with these two commentators , Kelvin is very knowledgable (as an ex rider) and is NOT trying to tell us how much he knows all the time! Bravo
p.s. I watch MOTOGP with the option to have the bike sound on and the commentary off!

I guess that the Eurosport offer of £19.99 for a full year is worth a punt then? offer closes 20th July 2020
Think I will risk it

OR buy a packet with a good use by date, so they can hang over to next years meeting!

Trouble is....there is a fine line between "passion" and "biggin it up"

Peter Craven, I was there at Wembley in 1962 when he won his 2nd World championship

I seem to recall that Wembley had problems, where the football corners flags created a hole that caused problems after a few races.
On the subject of the grass on the infield, I was amazed that on last Mondays televised Poole v Wolves match,
the centre green was unmown, and, in my opinion , a disgrace, you would think that pride would have had it mown for a TV appearance!!

As far as I can remember, didn't the track staff at Brandon all wear berets as well?
"Imperial Echoes" is the tune I remember fron the early sixties
happy days

duly signed by me too

1 hour ago, Midland Red said:And a least by being there you didn't have to put up with Sir Screamalot (formerly known as Sir Shoutalot)
You'd think he'd never ever seen a rider pass others around the outside before, the way he screamed when Woffinden made such a move
Is he still the PR man for him? that would account for it!!

Sound will be on mute for that one then!

better to have them two rather than the "shouty twins", when we they learn you cannot "big up" something that is mediocre?
Quirke and Tatum works fine for me, just leave out Woffy's PR man

I was at the 1962 Wembley final, when peter Craven won, 70,000 that night, awesome atmosphere!

Sadly a 'bumper crowd' for many is now 1500 - 1800 whereas even just ten years or so ago, it was around 2500 - 3000..
And of that 1500 - 1800, how many actually attend again that season?
Or perhaps more significantly, what is exactly done on the day to entice them back again?
On that note do the promoters EVER declare the attendance figures, like they do for most football matches?

Just wish the speedway coverage on TV gave the same option as MotoGP, i.e. turn off commentary but still hear the bikes and crowd, best of both worlds!

Agree about the drone footage, but better than the awful helmet cam view
