  1. So basically people are basing their Bjerre bashing on one bad play off meeting on a very, very heavy track. Not the fact that he averaged nine and a half last year, is pretty much maintaining that this year and last year scored well in the UK in every meeting directly before each GP? Just so I know.

I'm only going on what I saw last night, it was a TEAM meeting, Niels was the only one representing our TEAM afaik, a very poor showing from Bjerre last night in front of his home supporters, and his other supporters from Boro  I have no idea what the man did last season as I took no interest.

I would've rather watched Jake Knight riding for us last night, knowing that every lap he rode an effort was made!

  2.

Very disappointed with Kenneth's showing whereas Niels had a good go and scored good points :( Let's hope he doesn't have such bike probs on Satdee eh .............

Lol, i hope his pi$$ing bikes naff right up for him on Saturday! Just my personal opinion mind.

Felt sorry for Niels having to carry the can on his tod!

Harris, Lindgren, Pedersen and Holder could've ALL taken it easy last night, but guess they're a different breed than 'our' Mr Bjerre!

Holder and Ward sublime, very well done to them both.

  3. If you are a SKY customer you can watch it live via their SKY player. You just need to register. smile.gif

Don't you have to be subscribed to Sky Sports to do that? Cos I registered but it wouldn't let me view it because I haven't got Sports package no longer. You could try Justin tv, or My P2P on the day, you should probably be able to view the meeting on one or either of those.

  4. Well i enjoyed it....for me it brought back memories of a packed Saddlebow Road on a Saturday night in the 70's ...the atmosphere was brilliant, the racing was brilliant, the track was prepared well and all in all I think everyone involved with organising the event (apart from Sky who boss people around far too much lol) should be damn proud in what they achieved Monday evening. :approve:

More of the same please. :D

  5. Calm down dears. Some going way ott about the track. Yes dust in heat one, but no dust at all thereafter due to constant watering and grading. A touch more dirt would have been nice, but we all know what Len is like plus weather has been crap all winter.

Main problem which was clear as usual was complete lack of atmosphere all due to Lens terrible presentation skills. The sound system is useless and should be ripped out and replaced. Crowd could heardly hear on a thing on bends 1 and 2 and waiting around in silence with no music is a complete no no. You can hardly hear the music at Rye anyway. Craig Saul very good as usual if he could be heard, but Bryn in the box was making everyone nod off. We're in 2010 and I'm afraid Announcers like Bryn and the presentation of the meeting yesterday belonged in the 70's. Not good enough and summed up when we had the trackstaff march out in silence when the music wouldn't play. Comical.

Presentation of a meeting at Rye House is one area that has to be improved on dramatically.

Very rarely agree with you Chris, but have to this time, your comments are indeed spot on!

I was stood on bend 2 and the PA system was virtually non existant! Len needs to hit the fast forward button rather swiftish and get his speedway club back into the present instead of lingering in the seventies too!

  6. Another alternative is to park at Broxbourne station, and use the train for just one stop. This is a very unusually busy event we are staging, and I can see chaos reigning in and around the stadium, so it would be well advisable to look for alternatives.

We'll be parking at Hoddesdon Fire Station, been told it's about a 15 minute walk to the stadium, which is fine as long as it keeps us out of the main chaos!! :)
