Won't riding in Poland that Sunday be even more of an issue than it was last Saturday?
Or are there no Polish fixtures that day?
-
Thirdly, Swindon? That will be Leigh Adams' (+ partner's) home track then? Not exactly a neutral track for the other 8 teams in the competition. He'll be happy to have it there, unless it rains of course.

not sure why bjarne is getting the blame for this if adams was trying to get it called off as well!! i'm glad it got called off if the track was that bad as we don't need anymore injuries, better to be safe than sorry. also a bit confused about why everyone is a prima donna with the exception of crumpie.Well according to a report in one of our local rags today, (it's not on their website so sadly I can't show a link) Crumpy was 'itching to ride' in the words of Buster Chapman and it was a minority of four riders that finally swayed the referee to call the meeting off. (Have to say that Honie mentioned that during all the time the riders were making their minds up whether to ride or not, Crumpy was sat back in his pit out of the way.) The referee wanted the meeting to go ahead before they started stamping their feet. Also, the riders were ringing from the dressing room without even looking at the track! JC stoved into Troy Batchelor in the same report saying he was disappointed with his attitude returning to race at his 'home' track, and that maybe his one year in the EL had made him a 'world superstar' already.
Buster has stated that 'if' King's Lynn are the team that get the promotion place at the end of the season then there is no way he will be at the helm and would sell the rights to someone else. He wants nothing to do with the Elite League.
From that I very much doubt there will be a restaging of the meeting, and if there is then it's pretty obvious it won't be at King's Lynn.
As regards the Super 7 series, JC claims that last year he was given overall control of the series and that this year the 'top of the BSPA' seem to want to take the running of it and the power back to themselves, but I wasn't going to put my name to that'. He resigned because he put a lot of hard work and energy into it, and he didn't want to put his name to something that he didn't have control over. He says that the events of Saturday vindicated his decision and it's hassle he can do without.
Can't really say much myself as a fan of the club, I think there has been total over reaction on both sides, the Chapmans have once again with their outspoken-ness brought the club I love into controversy and all completely un-necessary. Whilst some of the EL riders just basically carry on taking the mickey out of British speedway with their prima donna attitudes.
All very pathetic imo.

Not sure how the Super 7's were formed and who did all the work to get them up and running but....We now have a brand name that all speedway riders and fans accosiate with.
We have the 'SUPER 7's' and not 7 individual meetings.
We have a logo that you can identify with and yesterday I was impressed with the Pits layout with all teams having a banner using this concept.
We have a website which should be the fans 'route A' for information.
How much of that was the brain child of Chapman and how much of it was a committee doing the work?
Most of it. I was wondering if he'd had the Super 7 logo copyrighted and therefore held the rights to it. He makes all the banners for the meetings on a machine he owns. Therefore I presume if it's all JC's work, then the next in line for the job will have to start again.

The EL riders will be too wrapped up in the GPs and the WC to be bothered with events like the Best Pairs etc at that time of the year I feel.If that's the case, anyone know how we get our money back? I know we can use the tickets at the re-staging or at another Super7even event, but it's highly unlikely I'll be able to make any of the others. I heard we could get our money back in the post, but where do we write to?

that's what JC announced last night.

i.e. means that there will not be a restaging of the pairs at the Norfolk Arena and there never will be an EL event there ever again in my opinion. To much for the club to lose and absolutely nothing to gain from these events.
Exactly.

Yes Honey it did say quite clearly in the prog that this is his last yearas director did it not.
Not his last year, his last meeting as series director. That's it for now, someone elses turn to take the flak.

In his rant at the end Buster said Jason was prepared to ride, the track was reminiscent of the one he rode every week in 01 imoYou know, I remember press and practice 2001, with messrs Crump, N Pedersen, Klingberg, P Karlsson, it was absolutely p1ss1ng it down yet they still went out and gave the crowd something to watch. How times change.
-
Well at least the photo's prove the track was absolutely fine until the rain came. -
Oh dear SS only 2000 there. Maybe it's Jonathan Chapman's latest haircut that's turning people awayHave you got Wong there pulling your strings tonight M08? What on earth makes you think I'd get upset by any comment you might make about Jonathan Chapman, he's hardly my favourite person.
-
How many were roughly there? 3000?Not quite that many, but I'd say more than an average Mildenhall crowd.
-
So can we hear from people who were there please?Track looked great when we arrived at 5 o'clock, sun was out, was very windy too. To be fair the weather that spoiled it WAS forecast, it was just a case of how localised and heavy the showers were going to be. Just unfortunate for all concerned, but hey that's speedway.

-
true... but Wembley is much easier for me to get to than bloody travelling nearly 400 milesAnd it's 240 miles actuallySurely it is 400 odd miles if he's planning to come home again?
-
SSYou dont think the track shop ends up looking that good without hours of setting up do you :-)))
No was not there on Wednesday....You dont bgrudge me the odd night off do you....
So who you supporting tonight
jb
Difficult one that. Always good to see Mr Crump back at the Arena, one of my faves of course, and the fact that he's partnered with a Danish Charlie I think I'll have to convert to an Aces fan later on!
-
SSPlease dont tell me that ...i aint left yet....thinking they open at 5pm.....
jb
Crikey you're only coming from Suffook!! You've got hours. You oughta have a word with that Mike Morosely bloke, he said in the proggie Weds that gates opened at 4pm, but then again you weren't there Weds were you!!
-
Gates open at 4pm, just had it confirmed by Nathan at Norfolk Arena. -
All I can say is that of all of the forecasts I've looked at for tomorrow for this region, they mostly say the same ...
Forecast...Saturday: King's Lynn, East of England.
A markedly colder day with brisk northerly winds and showers developing, these locally heavy and turning wintry later. Maximum temperature 8 °C.
The track was bone dry on Wednesday night, and we haven't had a spot of rain since then, so it all depends on how heavy these showers turn out to be and how localised they are.
Personally I think we'll get away with it, but guess it's in the lap of the weather Gods.

I see that the blurb on the super 7 site advertising this event has now changed to exclude the bit about a wildcard PL pairing taking part.
It too also mentions 20 qualifying heats, two semi finals and a final.
-
Why the hell hold this event at a premier league team who chickened out at the last second of moving up?They don't deserve to hold it, and its too far to travel to for most fans.
Events like this should be held at an EL track, reagrdless of whether it gives advantage to the home pair.
He's off on one of his I want people to bite rantsAnd why would anyone consider biting at such conceited drivel, best to just humour it. King's Lynn have the event, Poole don't, get over it. I'd far rather be watching one of our rained off PT meetings this Sat, I'm hardly enthused over the 'advertised' line up of this little cracker.
Tell you what though, I am SO SO glad my team 'chickened' out of joining the EL, after what I've seen of it so far, it's watered down and can really hardly be called ELITE anymore can it???
-
-
My tips topinka and doolan. Well if someone pulls out.Can tell you now you won't see those two in it.
-
you might want to wait and see if it's 9 teams or 10 teams in the meeting first as obviously the format will changeLet's settle for nine teams, only fair way.
