In fairness I would'nt count on it. Think they would probably struggle in the Championship at the moment

Best/Worst Team of the Season so far

Although some people make money from Speedway meetings, the vast majority are volunteers. Keen enthusiasts who love the sport, without them there would be no speedway in the UK. All though it is fine to use volunteers as track staff, turnstiles operators etc. When it comes to the presentation side of a meeting to give a smooth, professionally presented event. You get what you pay for. .................... and in the case of Speedway , that is fairly evident.

Of Course, Leicester will lose. They can't beat Poole at home never mind away.

    Leicester Lions 2018

I think that is perhaps a question a lot of people are asking themselves. The obvious answer, is they aren't good enough.
  7. LEICESTER Speedway bosses have issued an apology to supporters after their 53-37 thumping by Poole at home.In what the club have described as ‘embarrassing’ they have vowed to work with the team to put things right ahead of their trip to Wolverhampton on Monday.Club co-promoter Neil Machin said: “That was simply not good enough and our guys know that.“We would like to apologise to our fans and our sponsors and we will be doing all we can to improve things.“We are not going to offer any excuses, we are on a poor run of results and we know it’s not good enough.“On behalf of Damien Bates, Dave Darcy and myself we would urge our supporters to stand by us and keep giving us the sport we need here at Leicester.”The Watling JCB Lions hit the road next week at Wolves on Monday and Swindon on Wednesday before returning to the Paul Chapman and Sons Arena on Monday August 13 against Belle Vue.
  8. I think it was more of a hope than a scientific prediction. Never mind, well done Poole.

If it wasn't for Mr Kindt , things would have been a lot closer. I think the reserves that we had at the time also didn't help our curse. I reckon Leicester will actually win this tonight.
  10. KING'S LYNN: Niels-Kristian Iversen, Michael Palm Toft, Ty Proctor, Thomas Jorgensen, Robert Lambert, Simon Lambert, Kyle Newman.SOMERSET: Max Fricke, Bradley Wilson-Dean, Aaron Summers, Richard Lawson, Jack Holder, Jake Allen, Nico Covatti
  11. I would have thought that applies to all riders.
  12. I think it's fair to say that Leicesters season is over. Can't see us picking up anything on the road, so I guess have to try and win all home meetings that are left. Which may be difficult, shame started the season with so much promise as well.

Yep. Generally happens on most forums.

Poole Pirates Vs Leicester Lions 25/7/18

Very difficult to predict this one. Will either get tonked or run them close for a point. Best I can do
  15. Club Statement The following relates to Monday night v Leicester: The management of Swindon Speedway recognises that track conditions for Monday’s meeting against Leicester were far from perfect. You couldn't have created less perfect conditions if you'd have tried

    I wouldn't bet on it.
  17. justathought

    Swindon should be deducted points.

It's no use saying it's because of this and that. It's too hot, it's been raining, snow is expected, there is always an excuse why racing is rubbish. I honestly can't remember the last good meeting I saw, apart from perhaps the GPs. There are far Moore bad tracks than good. Regards the weather, they race in Australia and they seem to manage.

    Leicester Lions 2018

I think that if you carried out a survey of supporters you would find that the majority wanted a winning team and not to be beaten or run close week in week out. If Leicester had managed to keep the original 1 to 7 riders then we would have easily made the playoffs. Promoters really can't win. People moan if changes are made, people moan if changes aren't made. In fact, people moan full stop. If we had kept the team, as it was, against Kings Lynn we would be bottom again come the season's end. I'm not saying we will make the playoffs with the changes, but we have more of a chance of collecting some much-needed points.

Ahhhh bit like the other 6 then.

Just as a matter of interest. Does the club that wins the league receive any financial reward for doing so ? Trophy, Leauge Title, £----------------------

    Leicester Lions 2018

I fear that following last nights result against Kings Lynn, the playoffs have now become a little less achievable. We need to pick up points away from home and to be honest, I don't see where we are going to get any. It would seem that the Leicester curse has struck again. The original team looked the best it had ever been, then the injuries and rider changes along with riders not performing to their best. I think the remainder of the season is all uphill.
  22. You've got more chance of Craig Cook becoming World Champion.

Leicester v Poole. Prem. 9/7/18. BT sports.

I agree that the meeting wasn't a classic by any stretch of the imagination. Particularly the first 6 or so heats, but it did improve a little later on. Having said that I don't think there is any track, probably with the exception of Bell Vue, that produces amazing racing week in week out. I don't know enough about it to say that this is down to the bikes nowadays or the setups. However, I think a major factor is the amazing weather that we have all been enjoying. The ground, in general, is rock hard and it must be difficult getting any moisture in the tracks.

Are you really that influenced by what other people think? Why not have a bash at making your own mind up about things. It might be a pleasant surprise to you.
