Nicolai Klindt is the danger man....................Not really sure why we didn't have him back in the first place.

LEICESTER have bolstered their injury-hit side with two new signings - in time for Monday’s mouthwatering showdown with Wolverhampton at the Paul Chapman and Sons Arena.American World Cup star - and ex-Wolf - Ricky Wells has joined the club with immediate effect and he’s joined by British racer Charles Wright.Heading out of the team are injured Danny King and Kyle Newman.Co-promoter Dave Darcy said: “We are sad to see Danny and Kyle leave because they are two great guys, but in Danny’s case, in particular, we don’t know how long he’s likely to be out.“It was was a situation which had to be dealt with and these decisions have been made in the best interests of Leicester Speedway.“We welcome both Ricky and Charles to the Watling JCB Lions and wish them well for a successful stay with the club. They’re fine riders and we know what Charles can do after he rode for us on Monday at Wolverhampton.“Once again this shows Leicester Speedway aren’t prepared to stand still, we’ve made things happen and we hope to see a big crowd on Monday for what should be a great night.”
  8. I suspect that attendances for speedway meetings are down at every uk track. It's not really difficult to understand why this is. Generally speaking, you very rarely get a truly enjoyable evenings entertainment with most races are follow the leader, along with endless delays and messing about between races. However, the biggest problem is the cost of admission, far too high particularly if you have to travel to the venue which incurs more expense. A friend of mine showed an interest in attending a meeting recently, that was until I told him that just to get through the gate for him and his wife would set him back £34. If you look around any speedway meeting the crowd is made up of a very high percentage of over 50s. You see the same faces week in week out. The stadiums are run down, and very much in need of investment. With poor facilities and not great viewing of any racing that might take place. For what is currently on offer, it just inst value for money. It is a £10 sport.
  9. When I first saw the teams for this, I thought Wolverhampton would win it easily. However, I have reconsidered a little. I think Leicester have got a chance of a point here at least.

    Leicester Lions 2018

LEICESTER’s Kyle Newman has received some positive news regarding his collarbone injury. The Lions’ No.2 crashed out of his Championship fixture for Lakeside on Friday and was withdrawn due to a suspected broken collarbone. But x-rays show no broken bones and that the AC joint between the shoulder and collarbone is displaced.Newman requires physiotherapy and his situation will be assessed nearer the next fixture which takes place at Wolverhampton’s Monmore Green Stadium on Monday, June 25 (7.30).

    Leicester - Swindon 13.06.18

It's a real shame. I don't know what is wrong with the track but for some reason, it just doesn't produce consistently decent racing. It always looks very slick to me. Perhaps shortening the straights and making it more circular might work.

Perhaps unlike many others on here, they are waiting until they are in full possession of the facts/extent of the injury.

    Leicester Lions 2018

I personally believe Leicester will come good. They won't win the league, not with the current team, but I'm fairly confident they will make the top 4.

Where is he this time ?
  15. No big surprise with the result really. Considering Leicester didn't have their 3 heat leaders, I thought it might be a little closer than it turned out, but just a ridiculous situation all in all. Does the UK actually have any priority over any other league in the world, apart from Uganda that is? The way that Speedway has been run, and continues to be, has ruined what was one a fantastic sport.

We've only had a hand full of meetings, bloody hell. Plus, he jointly top-scored for Rye House at Wolverhampton on Monday.

    Nichols/kennett Rule

BRITISH Speedway bosses have moved to clarify the decisions over two well documented issues.Firstly, at a meeting of the British Speedway Promoters’ Association General Council, a review took place of the decision to prevent Premiership riders with an average of six or above also riding in the Championship. This rule was introduced for those riders who didn’t double-up last season and was seen as the first step towards reducing doubling-up in the sport.Unfortunately, and regrettably, Scott Nicholls and Edward Kennett – two fine servants of British Speedway – were caught up in this.General Council members have now voted to keep the regulation in place in order to gain more control of the doubling-up situation and begin steps to reduce the prospect of Premiership and Championship clubs looking too similar.
