How do you know he was, it amazes me how so many people have the inside, undisputable knowledge that normal fans are not privy to. Perhaps your uncles, sisters, brothers, aunty told you. I know, it was that bloke in the burger van ......he knows everything.

Lakeside won't do anything this year, they are just making up the numbers. A bit like Leicester in many ways, will win most at home and struggle away.

Lakeside and Eastburne away this weekend. Think that will sort the wheat from the chaff, be nice at the seaside though Saturday night.. Probably two of the, shall we say, most challenging tracks to ride. Does Gorden Kennett still ride for Eastburne

I think the powers that be have made a mistake , albeit with the best intentions, to introduce draft riders into Elite League teams. All it has done is water down the product I'm afraid. But, that's the rules and we all have to except them. Leicester look pretty weak to me and I don't think they will get much joy this year particularly away from BP. The Premier League looks the best League, which I believe will be a close affair, and probably produce better racing.

Leicester are buoyed by the news that Jason Doyle has now received clearance to race in this country for Leicester and will take his place at the head of the team to face Wolverhampton on Saturday at the Jordan Road Surfacing Stadium. It will be an historic day for the club as the fixture signals the first meeting for the Rapid Solicitors Lions in the Elite League. “I was relieved to receive confirmation from Jason who told me he will be flying out tomorrow and will be landing early on Thursday morning. The news has come just in time as the deadline for declaring the Leicester team to the BSPA for 2014 had to happen prior to 7.30 pm on Wednesday evening. Now all it leaves is for Jason to test his bikes before Saturday and his presence will be a big boost to his teammates and Leicester Speedway” commented the Lions Promoter, David Hemsley.
  10. Didn't go last night. What was the racing like ?
  11. I think most of the problem is that the track is always very slick. I think more dirt might help.

I don't think there are any amazing stand out teams at all this year. If I was pushed probably King Lynn look the best of the bunch on paper. The rest pretty evenly matched. Should be a close season.

On Lions Facebook Page. Jason Doyle's return moves closer to a solution The doubts surrounding the return of Jason Doyle to ride in the UK are now diminishing as there is a glimmer of hope that he may be allowed back into the country to work. Two weeks after signing to ride for Leicester it became known that Doyle’s application was turned down which left the club in a quandary as to the best course of action to take. Leicester decided to wait and see what developed rather than panic and look for a new number one and their wait appears to be paying off. Promoter David Hemsley who has been championing Jason’s cause had this to say : “I have been in constant contact with Jason since it was first known that his Tier 2 (Sportsperson) application had been declined and have also been liaising with the UK Border Agency and the BSPA in an effort to bring the situation to a satisfactory conclusion for all parties. Discussions are still ongoing and progress is being made towards allowing Jason back into the UK on a Tier 5 (Temporary Worker – Creative and Sporting) Sponsorship. In such circumstances caution is the key word but we are doing everything possible and hopefully I will soon be in a position to confirm that Jason Doyle will be leading the Lions in 2014.”

How long are we going to wait for the Jason Doyle situation to be resolved. We are now in February with the season just around the corner and still no news. All teams, with the exception of Birmingham 1 rider and Swindon 1 rider needed, have completed their line ups.

SWINDON boss Alun Rossiter has confirmed Nick Morris will be staying with the club. The talented young Australian had been linked with a move elsewhere after he was released by Premier League club Somerset. Rossiter said: “It’s time to draw a line under the Nick Morris situation. Nick and I have never had a problem, but certain other people around him have been saying and writing things which haven’t helped. “He wants to do Premier League and we were disappointed for him when Somerset made their team change. Nick and I have always got on well and that will continue in the weeks and months ahead, he is an integral part of the Swindon side for the 2014 season and is going nowhere.”

I'm afraid I really don't understand the Doyle situation. Why is he having problems when someone like Josh Grajczonek seems to be fixed up and ready to go .
