    Pl Predictions 2012

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I think only Somerset, Workington, Ipswich and Newport could do better. But, I think we are all in for a interesting season. One thing is for sure Leicester will be far more competitive than last year. And with the track alterations at BP some better racing as well.

Time will tell. I think you may be surprised That's probably why a lot of people put them down for a top six place is it

    A poor side.........are you real ?
  4. Should be a good meeting. Hopefully a Leicester win. But, watch out for Ipswich, think they might win it.

I personally don't find Sheffield a very friendly place to visit at all. Also having attended about 10 meetings this season I think I've only seen one decent one. That was the visit of Ipswich. Talk about home track advantage .............. Leicester might have their problems, but I would rather go there than Sheffield. Horrible place.

Well done Nemo. And congratulations to Sam Masters who rode his nuts off.(The guy was flying) I'm pleased Ashworth didn't win, seems a very arrogant young man. Racing wasn't great...........yet the wingers at Sheffield call Leicester. we'll see what you do next season without Parker to carry you.

I take it that the car park will be full pretty quick. So where else is there to park near the stadium. Come On NEMO
  9. It has just been announced that Leicester will host the re-staging of the Premier League Fours Final on Sunday 23rd October and organisers have extended the meeting to a 20-heat programme. The event was abandoned due to rain in early August after the semi-final stage and the Final is now to take place as a stand-alone competition with a 5.00pm start at Beaumont Park. The four qualifying clubs – hosts Leicester, Ipswich, Somerset and Workington – will be free to select their own preferred line-ups for the meeting irrespective of their team averages at the time. Admission prices have been set at the level of regular Premier League meetings at Leicester – £15 adults, £13 concessions, £5 for children aged 12-16, and under-12s will be free of charge. Holders of re-admission adult and concession tickets from the abandoned Final will be entitled to a £5 discount on those prices. SpeedwayGB Events co-ordinator David Hoggart said: “We’ve taken the decision to add extra value to the event with running it as a one-off by extending it from sixteen to twenty races. “It’s also a test run in some ways to assess the format with a view to looking at the possibility of re-introducing qualifying meetings in the future. “I would stress that we would need to hold detailed discussions on that, but the ideal scenario would be to open up the Fours competition to allow every club to have the opportunity of reaching the Final.”
  10. Maybe I'm expecting to much to soon, I don't know. There is no question that they have dropped a major clanger with the track. It is putting people off going to watch speedway at Leicester. First impressions, in most things in life, are very important. The fact of the matter is the racing is not enjoyable. Nowhere is perfect I've seen some real boring meetings at Sheffield for instance. However, most heats at Leicester are very follow the leader. It is considered a highlight when you actually get a heat with racing in it. You would have thought that Sunday, and I know the rain didn't help, with the calibre of riders taking part that there might have been some decent racing. I believe that a lot of riders don't feel safe riding the track.
  11. Don't get me started on him. ....I'm not a methanol fan. I think his finest moment was calling Darkin our Russian Rocket..........words fail me.
  12. Er...yes I was standing in it for an hour before the meeting started. I suppose I'm going to sound like someone who is knocking Leicester speedway, and that's honestly not my intention. I love the sport and have been to every home meeting, plus a few away. I go to Sheffield and Scunthorpe on a regular basis as well. I think you'll agree I've given Leicester a good go. I can put up with rain, bad presentation and long delays. But, the racing is terrible if you don't make the gate, 9 out of 10 times you've lost. It's very difficult to find somewhere to stand that you can actually get a good view of the track. And when it does rain its a nightmare. I'm not jumping on the band wagon. It's a fact...the track is rubbish. Let me know when something has been done about it and I will return.......Sunday was, for me, the last straw.
  13. I'm afraid I didn't enjoy that one bit. Leicester really do need to get the track sorted, even with the best imagination in the world, I think you must agree a racetrack it ain't.
