Agreed. Think we should enjoy the fact we have live speedway and be thankful for that. For a long time it looked like there would be no team so I’m very thankful Rob Grant took over. He may not be everyones cup of tea but deserves a lot of credit.Hopefully enough people come through the gates when restrictions are lifted to get us through this condensed season and we can all look forward to 2022 with renewed optimism. Sundays without speedway just wouldn’t be the same.

Didn’t think there was too much wrong with the track myself apart from being dusty which considering the forecast is quite understandable. There was a problem with watering around heat 11-12 when bowser dumped to much water on bends 1-2 but otherwise ok.

If that’s the case then I think if I were the owner I’d put things on hold until I knew what was happening with restrictions etc. If restrictions aren’t relaxed and I had to run with the numbers coming through the gates I’d cut my losses and close down.

Maybe I just think they should at least try to see if there were enough interest. If like a lot are suggesting the more senior supporters are being put off by online sales it may well bring a few more through the turnstiles. A simple phone, order and delivery service wouldn’t be hard to do and would only require a small outlay on tickets and petrol .

Maybe by telephone or at a pre-determined source say a shop. Dunno really but if it was a possibility it would be worth trying. Maybe put a post on here and on Social media trying to see if many people would interested, then take it from there.

A solution to the people who are reluctant to buy online could be to offer them an old fashioned printed out ticket which could be ordered and paid for in advance and delivered to them in advance so all they needed to do was to show ticket on arrival at the stadium. This would still comply with the restrictions placed upon Newcastle. Just a thought.

A lot of people are sitting thinking yeah yeah we’ve heard it all before. Seriously if people don’t attend IT WILL CLOSE AND SPEEDWAY WILL BE LOST. Just try asking any fan of say Workington,Hull,Reading,Newport or Rye House to name but a few if they’d like to watch their team. Think we know the answer. Don’t leave it to somebody else,get yourself to your track and support your team. Granted it’s not the best of teams but Christ we’re talking about 10 meetings or so. So what they’re not going win the league, but the noise the smell and the thrill of watching speedway nothing comes close to it.I know Covid restrictions are playing a massive part but as I’ve said previously Newcastle speedway are being told how to operate at the moment. So if you haven’t yet got your ticket you have until 1pm I think. Oh and Diamonds 46-44 Leicester

My wife and I will be there and will also donate into the justgiving page but I agree people like ourselves can only do so much and while people share and encourage people to give some of them are more reluctant to hand their own cash over. I think I agree with THJ and maybe after Sunday put racing on hold until after 19th July to see just what people can or indeed can’t do.

Lateral flow tests are free why can’t they test people like they’re doing with other sports? Also there was lots of talk about Vaccination certificates to allow people to mix who’d been fully vaccinated. Surely there’s a way to allow more people to attend speedway. Lots of venues that do track and trace don’t necessarily need you to check in via an app. Surely this could be put in place for the more senior supporters. I realise it would mean more work but would it not be worth it?

Looks like Robs trying everything but I do fear the worst. 2 more home meetings against less attractive teams than Leicester ( No disrespect to Plymouth and Scunthorpe before 19th July. Will pay on the gate return after this date? I do feel for Rob he’s been up against it since day 1.
