  1. Now that the weather has been a little better and things are drying out nicely I am laying down some new shale for next weeks meeting.

This new material is a blend of clay and shale 70/20  20% being the clay content. This should change everything and get the racing lines back after a meeting or two to mix it up with the current surface.

First chance to get on the forum since last night. What a disappointment for Pirate fans. Pirates were well beaten by the Robins in virtually every department - aside from PK (and he's a Swindon asset!!:P).

I congratulated Rosco last night and don't think I can add anything else to this thread other than to question all the flack about Linus?!  At least he scored in every race albeit against 'less-skilled' riders.

Incidentally Glyn Taylor spent some considerable time pre-meeting chatting to some of the sponsors. In his opinion the track has several racing lines - even though they weren't apparent last night. The track prep was very different to last week due to the weather so maybe Glyn needs to sit down with the Poole riders and explain how their set-ups should be.

Anyway haven't heard how Josh G is after his crash. Hope he's not injured - although if MF needs to make a temporary replacement, he has one ready made for another 28 days at least!!

Just to set the record straight . I did not speak to any sponsors last night. The track is still  soft in parts so it very difficult to water on such a warm and windy day.

Well done Steve, great footage. Im  sure Speedway-portal will also have there's up on our home site very soon.

Thanks Starman I couldn't be there today as I had a previous engagement prior to getting the track job. Looks like it held up well I will be there tomorrow afternoon to put back into shape.

Before the rain comes on Thursday night Friday morning.

  4. I would like to thank all the track staff, they put the air fence up yesterday which was a massive job in the conditions.

The track held up ok. Needs a week of good weather to harden the surface up.

The guys helping yesterday were great,  a lot of knowledge so they were telling me where there are small problems with the surface that appear during a meeting.

The rakers are there week in week out and see things with the track that most don't see, so working with them will be good.

Its not from Breadon. I don't know if I will be doing the track all season. Matt has a few things to sort out first. But I would like the job.

Thats good glyn, i assume you are Giyn speedflash ? and having seen the photo's and looked at it first hand having seen it myself, you done a great job, but my only fear is, and its not your fault i know, will 3 weeks be enough for it to bed in ? We have have significant snow and we now have rain. and when its not doing either we do not have a drying wind. The boys were told to stay off that area when sorting the airfences, to give it as much chance as posible.

     Yes it is a worry.

  7. The track work is not finished. Still a bit to do . Drains need to be finished off, the track surface needs to harden up. We can't get any shale for 6 weeks as the clay pits have a water problem. So we are trying to find an other supplier.

But all in all its 90% finished and the airfence is up. A great job and very good day from the volunteers . So with a bit of good weather this week and some shale we are hoping to be ready very soon.
