  1. If you have a draft then you cant have protected riders - needs to be a free pick in strict order.

    Sheffield 17/09

you will get replacements who have achieved the same averages and are therefore of pretty much equal ability by definition.....

    Ipswich 2015

Just another 24 hours of false hope.....

    Sheffield 17/09

Withdraw then..... You signed both Grondal and Thomsen in full knowledge they were in the U21 and that these dates would be the reserved dates for the first play off matches - tough!!

    Peterborough Panthers 2015

So you could have a rider on 6.21 so long as they started the season below 6.....

    Ipswich 2015

Scunny has often been a place where get things right and the home team can string together multiple 5-1s

Can see it now... Devils need a 5-1 in 15 and Kennett is cruising to another win when BANG off the last bend his engine blows and Morten sails through to take the Devils into the play offs....
  8. Following on updates was great. Hard to believe a meeting you cant see and doesn't even involve your own side can be so entertaining!! Leigh Lanham - Witches rider of the year....
  9. that was due to logistics rather than ability though. The original comment was some of tge no7s werent even good enough for the PL. No comparison with Adam there....
  10. perhaps they took the cheap option with the thought it wouldnt affect the result anyway.

    Peterborough Panthers 2015

With 8.70 I make it EL average upto 6.21 can be used. (conversion 1.4) As far as I know the 6+ rule only applies to d/u and not guests...
  12. Cant see how you can accuse Lewy of acting like a child. He is standing up for what he thinks is right and asking for a rule to be fairly and consistently enforced - thats all. Too often teams (all teams at times) look at how a rule can be bypassed or manipulated and unless someone takes a stand they get away with it. Comments like ' it happens all the time' ' its only practice' 'he can be ok the day after' 'riders often pick and choose' dont make it right.
  13. no wonder the plan has been so successful - youve been practicing at being shyte all season! wink

has not quite got the right idea though has he - should only be dropping his average if farmed out to our nearest rivals.Thats another thing to add to the list that the Monarchs do better than us!!

Who Would Ride And Win In The World Final Of The Nearly Men

whenever Sal is mentioned I always chuckle to myself remembering a situation one Good Friday. The usual mad rush from the afternoon meeting meant leaving the car park at Foxhall was carnage Of course riders if they can try to get off quick so it was a surprise to see Sals van sitting there. He had managed to get stuck behind someone not trying to leave! So Sal literally couldnt pass a parked car! Perhaps thats why he is not on the list?

Not this year to allow a chance for 2016 it seems....

    Ipswich 2015

Although there has been nothing locally to confirm this. I did however see a story from a national newspaper online link quoting Gino as saying he wont be back and he plans to regroup at home next year with a view to coming back in 2017.
  18. Any protest has to be now though lewy - once the line ups are accepted and the meeting starts that's it. No facility to protest on the night or after.

That Aces v Witches match would certainly be worth watching!

dont disagree with you here TWK. A rider whos potetial and talent was hugely hampered by some serious injuries.

John Louis Book - Your Memories Wanted

Only just found this thread and seems I am too late to add my comments in line with tmcs OP deadline. But for what its worth anyway here goes... Mr Ipswich Speedway. Full stop. John Berry rightly gets credited for the success story that was Ipswich Speedway upon its resurrection but every master craftsmen needs the best tools to work with. In John Louis he had just that -he was the perfect local hero to build around. Very few riders rise so quickly as John did and goodness knows what he couldve achieved had he started 10 years earlier. Then of course not content with such a worthy riding career he embarks on taking on the mantle of ' the boss'. Whilst never as successful as Berry trophy wise (1998 aside - who could forget that year!!) it could easily be argued John was more important than Berry in that without him there may no longer be an Ipswich Speedway and he has kept going through the tough times whilst comparatively Berry was there when you just had to open the gates. In terms of a personal memory I still have hanging in my wardrobe a race jacket won towards the end 1979.John raffled a few off in the last weeks of the season. Dad won but I got it. Somewhere in the archives will be a picture of a skinny 8 year old with a beaming smile on the centre green at Foxhall with John presenting it - thats me!! In summary - thanks John for all of that and of course the dynasty continues with Chris...

Who Would Ride And Win In The World Final Of The Nearly Men

Ipswich could certainly put together a decent side from those mentioned through this thread!! Both Chris and John Louis,Sanders,Sigalos,Hampel and Doncaster....... Can any other team match this??

    Ipswich 2015

I know there has been separate threads about him but I still cant see how BWD will be a five. If he qualifies this year for the NL then next year he should be a 3 in the PL. If not then he shouldnt be elligible to be in the NL.

    Ipswich 2015

perhaps any rule is irrelevant - I dont think Hong Kong had the PL in mind.....
