Thats always been the problem for me about season tickets, if you miss a meeting or two your out of pocket. I think I`m right in saying season tickets only covered league meetings, maybe if it covered all Berwick meeting that would entice more customers. Obviously not BSPA shared events or meetings like that but if Berwick are racing as a team I dont see why that shouldnt be covered by a season ticket.

Berwick season pass last season did cover all team matches

    Not much ambition then Norm

Who would you suggest?  That team, depending on the last rider would be hard to beat around Shielfield and pick up a few points away.

i think survival is more important than ambition at this time !  And I for one am just extremely happy to have Speedway in Berwick

Is it possible for anyone to confirm from the side that finished the season, who would be eligible for the 2.5% reduction? Would Kerr get a reduction on his 7.18?
    Thanks in advance :)

As I understand it, ( not saying I’m right ) it’s any rider who at any time has come through the National / Conference Leagues

When the limit was 45 new riders from elsewhere were coming in on 7 and 9 and Brits on 3

Now its 4 and 5 with Brits on 2

A couple of those in a side and 38 becomes an old 45 anyway

Plus teams were built with bonus points back then which added another 2/3 points on to the actual team averages

Two very good and valid posts

I don't think that would be fair, which doesn't mean they wouldn't do it. Nicolai Klindt is (bizarrely) a 6.61 rider in the Premiership and a 6.94 rider in the Championship (maybe more motivated when riding for Poole?) - surely they would take the highest, i.e. convert the Premiership average to get fair (and more realistic) figure for the 2019 Championship (9.91)?

And Dan bewley has a higher ave in the Premiership than he has in the Championship !! I’m not sure how they’ll do it, what ever way it will be good for some and not for others

If the conversion rate of 1.5 applies to this year's Premiership averages, with a team limit of 38, I would have thought a premiership 6-6.5 point rider would be realistic for a number one for 2019, so maybe Nicholls, King, Wells, or Even Josh Bates could be the Lions number 1. It would be nice if the BSPA published lists of applicable averages for each league for next year.

I’ve read somewhere else that if a rider rode and gained an average in both leagues last season,  then the their average for each league would apply in 2019

Three years, I'm suprised by that. Promoters and owners change, plus changes to track and fence etc.

It is also inspected by the referee at every meeting and reported back to the SCB, if standards fall are are not complied with, the licence can be revoked

It has now been confirmed on the official website that Comets are good to go in 2019 and that talks have also been held with the leader of Allerdale Council about the longer term future of the club.

This is fantastic news for the speedway fan base in Cumbria and i' m absolutely delighted.

    • Brilliant news for all connected with Wukiton Speedway, happy days marra’s :t: Now, the same news from Berwick would be very nice indeed

Amongst all the to my mind stupid  imaginary team building is no body concerned that the whole of British Speedway is effectively now in the hands of one man?

From where I see it,In simple terms, without that one man, there would be no top league. Love him or hate him he has on his own kept the league afloat.

Surprised they didnt get an 8 team top-flight....and shocked to see both Leicester and Somerset dropping.

Seems like a change of night for the Bears, probably to a Friday - which have been reasonably popular.

And two teams up, Birmingham and ? Hope it is Kent, like to see new teams...shame nobody has stepped up at Rye House with a track ready to use.

You cant have Fridays unless you get permission from Mr Godfrey

38 point limit, I'm sorry but this just means the championship being watered down to hopefully boost the so called top division, I'm all for cutting costs but if that means watching two nl riders at 6 and 7 it's wrong...

If every club has two National league standard riders at reserve it means more actual competitive racing hopefully

38 points to work with in the Championship next year! That’ll be Cook ruled out for Glasgow I’d say.

I get the need to see a clear difference in overall quality between the two leagues but feel we could’ve gone with an increase in the Premiership to prevent such a massive drop in the Championship.

For what it’s worth I don’t believe Cook and a few others should be anywhere near the Championship, There needs to be a definitive gap between the top two leagues and Cook and some others are too good and too expensive for the Championship.

i can’t see the entertainment value in some riders crossing the finishing line when others are entering the third bend
