    Wolves 2017

The issue with Clegg is he's the lead reserve. I'm sure he'd be okay if someone came in to take that role. He's being asked to carry greaves and that is clearly a pressure he can't handle. Last year he had Howarth. This year, and it's the old format as well, he's out on his own against some decent riders. He's never going to beat them.
  3. Leicster threw that away and is why they will fail to make the play offs. Not ruthless enough. It's okay saying they deserved to win, they didn't and that from a position where they really should have. Wolves have the worst reserves in the division, in fact it would be a poor combination in the championship. The top 5 is also far from all that. Skoniki is finished, never a good idea coming out of retirement, and Thorsell is is ineffective away from home. That puts immense pressure on your top 2 and Howarth, who has started the season well, but isn't yet ready for that type of stress. I had a top 4 for which I thought was cast iron. It's now down to 2. Wolves need to make changes fast.
  4. It also disproves the theory that lay down engines and the new silencers are to blame for poor quality racing. It's clear that preparation and shape/size/banking of tracks is really critical. This track is a really great marker for future track builds.
  5. It's the type of meeting we should be screaming for. Seriously, that track is just amazing. Every race. EVERY RACE had a pass, in fact the one pass races seemed boring. I'm so lucky to live next to that.
  6. That was something else that I'll stick it now. Best track on this earth

Excellent summary. Couldn't have said it better. I really don't see the hype around kings Lynn. Very weak middle order, a blank at reserve and relying on a kid as your 2nd heat leader.
  8. Nothing sweeter than beating Poole in there own back yard. I was down for the first fixture last year. Tried some banter but nearly got lifted out the stadium, your a soft lot. You'll win this though. BV haven't raced a meeting yet. But we'll certainly put a better challenge than wolves did.

    That is beyond arrogant.
  10. Perhaps I'm spoiled watching speedway at BV every week, but apart from heat 15 that was utterly boring. So boring that free entry could potentially have done more harm than good. I don't know what has happened to Owlerton, it used to be such a cool track.
  11. Shane's is quality. Going to be a top rider Wolves will need to make changes. Puts pressure on the home meetings when you travel so poorly. Lack of support to Lindgren and the worst reserve pairing in the division. Although I'm certain that will change at the first set of averages

Really don't see the fuss over KL.

    Belle Vue 2017

Now it's been done it seems like such simple promoting. Them kids will be absolutely hooked now, which means the family has to come back. They've painted the inside kerb red white and black as well. Again small fry, but it gives some identity. People can associate with that. Made a good start. Only thing I'd say is use social media more, Glasgow do it brilliantly and that is a standard for every club

    Belle Vue 2017

It's looking very bright. Bjerre in decent form today as well. 3 solid heat leaders, 2 good 2nd strings and promising reserves. Personally think it's the most solid team in the league. Certainly the top 5, no weakness there at all. Reserves will be suspect early and that could hurt us but generally I think it's the best 1 to 7 in the league.
  15. Your track has holes and bumps everywhere. It's terrible and has been for a number of years. It needs ripping up and re laying. It's not a personal issue with poole speedway but it's a fact your core support and ownership need to accept. I wasn't there tonight, so maybe the weather was the reason, but it doesn't excuse the fact that your track is dangerous.
  16. Only this. Poole track is badly prepared. Has been for a long time. Needs re laying.
  17. Woffinden is just a disrespectful nob. You never, ever turn your back on your country. No matter how you may disagree with the way it works. If it was down to me he'd never ride for team GB again, and he'd never ride in this country again. We will get our wish this year and I'm absolutely chuffed with it. For the record, I agree with a lot of what he says, but he goes about expressing it in completely the wrong way.

    Polish Rules 2017

I've changed my opinion since yesterday having sat and thought on it. Devil and the blue sea for Jack. He's seen his arse but it's tough I'm afraid, because at this moment in time he needs Britain more than he does Poland. Hasn't yet made the step over the stone. Had all British clubs stuck together with this, Australian speedway would be commencing a pretty rapid death. The fact is they need this country. They need it for a racing licence and they need it to live in. Personally the more I think about this, I'd probably tell them to dissappear. Danny king is sat waiting for a British top flight club, Chris Holder is spitting his dummy out because Britain is standing up for itself. That really doesn't sit well with me. Chris Holder, why you don't you dissappear from the UK, get yourself sorted with a property in Poland, and Danny king can have your place at KL. It's only fair isn't it, if your so pissed at the English authorities?

Fair assessment although I'd probably swap Rye House with Kings Lynn. Will certainly be competetive between those 5 clubs. The bottom 3 will be cut adrift unless they make changes, of which only Swindon would likely do. I think Belle Vue and Poole really stand out. All teams staying the same however unlikely, I think that is the grand final.
  20. The Poles are certainly becoming a tad cocky, it's very brazen of them and the FIM should really be stepping in. I do understand their argument to an extent though. However, the solution isn't to force out the Aussies. The solution is to fight fire with fire and that starts with some simple economics. Such as British speedway getting it's house in order. Better promoting would be a start, wouldn't it? No self interest from the top or back handers, yes that'd help as well, no? Getting our stadiums in order, better prepared racing tracks? I could go on. The list is endless and we've all seen it. British speedway needs to ask itself why it's in the state it's in. It then needs to action those findings. It needs to make it better. It needs to make it competetive in its market place. It needs to start forward thinking and it needs an independent body running it. Until those things are addressed, we will remain bottom of the pecking order and whilst Poland maybe cocky f×××s who think they rule the sport internationally, throwing our toys out will not help.

    Belle Vue 2017

Fair assessment that. Sedgman has never delivered his potential in the UK. However as a 2nd string it makes sense. If he does develop, fantastic, but there is zero pressure for him to do so. Cook/Fricke/Bjerre will be your heat leaders. Bewley was averaging over 8 in the PL before he was hurt, and next year will be a big season in terms of reaction. I believe there were doubts about him coming back. There is a risk of burnout as well doing 3 leagues. That said I don't think I've seen a British rider with this much potential for about 10/15 years since Kennet came through. Bridger similar. If he can deliver on it we have a great rider here. Team wise I'd go as follows in riding order: Fricke Sedgman Worrall Bjerre Cook Smith Bewley Bjerre/Worrall will swap at the first set of averages. I don'tsee anything across a top 5 elsewhere as strong as that. No out and out number 1, but it's covered by its depth. Poole do, but Klindt starts at reserve. Assuming nobody changes and no injuries (yes, my lottery numbers will come in this weekend) then I see a Poole/Belle Vue grand final.

    Polish Rules 2017

The only mistake made here is that not every promotion refused to sign it. We are what we are, and by that I mean the bottom nation for hosting the sport, but it doesn't mean we shouldn't have a backbone.

    Belle Vue 2017

Perhaps a little ass twitching for Max but it got sorted eventually. Very happy with this team. No out an out number 1, but 3 with the potential to be. Very solid feel to the top 5, and I think as a combination it's the strongest on paper. Some have better number 1s, but nobody matches up across all 5. The young lads at reserve will struggle away, no doubt about that, but we've built enough to support it. However as the season goes on, certainly Dan, I think they will start to deliver points on the road. At home they will be fine. Both know the track and will have the advantage of riding it at least once a week. I'd make us favourite but there will be changes at the first set of averages I'm sure. In respect of King, he's the victim of British speedway. He'd have missed too many meetings so you can't blame BV for not taking him. He'll get a ride at the first set of averages.

    Belle Vue 2017

Fricke is having some visa issues apparently. King will miss too many meetings but if that's the way it is then so be it.

    Belle Vue 2017

Richie's average isn't sustainable for him. He stagnated last year. Dropped to reserve and stayed there. His brother moved to 2nd string, and I think for a period 3rd heat leader, chalk and cheese for BV. Very similar in the PL, but it's about 7 riders and when only one realistically fits then this was a no brainer. Fricke is in, it's the worst kept secret around. I think if we add KB then BV will be in the play offs, looking around only Poole match up. Such a throw away comment. Sedgman in particular has a very attractive average. That's given us the scope to go out and get 3 genuine heat leaders, and 2 solid 2nd strings. Something many teams have failed with in this new points structure. In fact many have a 2nd string who should be at reserve in old money.
