    Peterborough Panthers 2020

So nki it is. Surprised but an excellent signing. Panthers will be significantly improved this season. One thing I would say though is what is crump earning? It must be pretty significant

If it is Iversen and Wells then that is a tidy looking team. Ive gone on record saying I just see NKI coming back, given his GP and other league commitments, but I’d love to be wrong. A league with him, Crump, Pedersen, Killer back etc. Perhaps the brightest our league has looked for a while.

    Ipswich 2020

Don’t think he’s trying to prove anything. I think the top and bottom of this is Seth. He is here to support his sons road racing career and basically needs some cash flow. Had Seth been doing something else I don’t see Jason even contemplating doing this. Whatever the reasons I think it’s great for British speedway.

Non. But that’s my point in that it’s a changing dynamic. Jason has come back. Niki is still going. Greg would still be going if not for personal reasons. Being fit is the key. If you stay clear of imjury I see no reason why riders can’t go on into their mid forties/fifty.

    Ipswich 2020

You don’t forget how to ride a motorcycle. It’s in his DNA. The most important thing is equipment and with the sponsorship Jason has lined up, he will have first class kit. People look at age but sport in general is a changing dynamic and Greg has proved that 44 is actually no age if you are fit and healthy. Like I said in my last post, it will take Jason a few meetings to get his race sharpness back and gating but once he does, he will comfortably get to a 7 point average imo.

    Ipswich 2020

Only problem I see is the assessed average, quite how they’ve arrived at that figure is beyond me. From Jason’s perspective I think this is purely about his son. He is over here anyway, so he will have to earn some money. Gives him time to spend with him whilst only riding twice a week. He has some good sponsorship and in turn will have quality kit. You don’t forget how to ride a motorcycle and as long as he’s fully fit, I expect he will manage at least a 7 point average. Will take a few meetings to get his sharpness back, gating etc, but once he does he will be absolutely fine in my opinion. On a personal level it’s great to see him back, my favourite rider.

    Danny Ayres RIP

Was genuinely in disbelief when the news broke. I'm still shocked if I'm honest. He seemed like such a free spirited bloke, always smiling and always having a laugh. RIP man.

I'm glad you find this amusing maneacat. A well reasoned and sensible post in a sensitive discussion. Tells me loads about your personality.

    Belle Vue Aces 2020

I'm not too sure on the numbers, Rob, but I would think those clubs who are standalone will naturally have to charge more and I have a better degree of understanding there. BV have 2 teams, those people watching the colts are watching the main team as well so like I said, it is a large net increase. It's one business when all is said and done and whilst I understand the colts will have their own books and need to be run with some independence, the money goes in the same bank account when the figures are done.

    Peterborough Panthers 2020

You can see from the last 10 pages or so the level of sensitivity around this matter. This is not something that Peterborough speedway can ignore. It's too big. In this instance I feel the need to use my common sense and hope that a solution is being worked upon. Something nobody on these pages has yet done. Just because no announcement has been forthcoming, does not automatically mean that isn't being or won't be addressed. Indeed I get the feeling many people here are potentially using this to create a lot of noise and bluster. If at the seasons beginning this hasn't been seen to then I'll equally hold the Peterborough promotion with the same disdain. Until then, I'm quite happy to wait and see and hope common sense will prevail. Perhaps others should do the same.

It's not. That's why I used the word possibly.

    Peterborough Panthers 2020

I'm not the one being critical, quite the contrary if you read the detail. I'm also not sure what history has to do with this current situation. It's very different in many aspects.

    Peterborough Panthers 2020

No. I sound like a reasoned, logical human being who has the foresight to understand that perhaps not everything is in the public domain because it isn't yet ready to be. You and others ARE making assumptions because you don't yet know what the planning and detail is to find a solution here. You are assuming that this isn't being dealt with. That people couldn't possibly be working in the background trying to find an answer and haven't released anything because it isn't yet ready to do so.
  14. acef

    Peterborough Panthers 2020

I don’t, but conversely why should I assume otherwise! I don’t know either way that’s why I said what I said. Who am I to assume that every comment made over the last 10 pages was from a person with a disability. Absolutely outrageous point of view, that. Shocking.
  15. acef

    Peterborough Panthers 2020

And this is what boils my blood! If I was taking about disabled people I would have said so. I didn’t. I said a bunch of people because that also includes those without any disability. My point was about the volume of people raising concerns and the minority impact it has on a forum that is hardly mainstream. You are making assumptions like you have been for the last 10 pages. Stop overreacting and misrepresenting what others say because you disagree.
  16. acef

    Peterborough Panthers 2020

They wouldn’t at this point but once something is in place (if there will be) then I’m sure those BB holders will purchase season tickets. Patience is the order of the day.
  17. acef

    Peterborough Panthers 2020

But there is no negative PR. It’s a minority bunch of people reacting with resistance on a speedway forum nobody looks at. As I said in my post above, people need to give them a chance. Everyone is making wild assumptions.

    Peterborough Panthers 2020

I think the key is not to assume anything at this point. It could potentially explain why Peterborough kept this low key, whilst they source and/or set up a shuttle service. Like I said, I think people are overreacting to this. It’s such a sensitive subject and I just don’t see why Peterborough would leave themselves wide open. People are assuming that any provisions put in place after adjusting the parking conditions would have been released at the same time. I say give the club a chance and see what happens. Im absolutely certain that something of this nature will be dealt with accordingly

    Eurosport

Nord are the most common. A yearly subscription of £60 I think. They have an app or you can download through their website. I personally couldn’t be without one.

    Peterborough Panthers 2020

I have skimmed through the last few pages. Have Peterborough provided any official word on this? I feel the frustration of any BB holder but I can’t help but think the gun is being somewhat jumped here? How do we know Peterborough speedway won’t be providing a shuttle service? Have I missed something?

    Belle Vue Aces 2020

I’ll stand the 1st team increases even if I disagree but the Colts is a different matter. Its 1 club/business at the end of the day and the £1 extra for the Premiership should have filtered through to the young team. As someone who attends both, I see that as a net increase of £3 and that is too much to justify over a season. The consequence is I now won’t be attending the colts meetings and that will be counter productive for the club. Attendances will fall marginally again and all the increase does is hide any YOY decline in terms of footfall. Dissapointed.

    Peterborough Panthers 2020

I hope for the sake of the league that NKI makes a return. However I’ll show my arse on the town hall steps if he does. It goes completely against the grain of what he has done historically with a congested fixture list. He has absolutely no reason to ride in the U.K. Non whatsoever:
  23. acef

    Peterborough Panthers 2020

I didn’t suggest I did know the reason, I said they did.
  24. acef

    Peterborough Panthers 2020

Is the correct answer. Peterborough know who they want and whether or not it is likely to happen. That tweet is all bluster and noise. Pay the money. It’s as simple as that

    Transfer Window

Another rule that is open to manipulation. In theory its not a bad idea, but as is ever the case with the association, they probably won’t enforce it when a doctors note comes in. If it’s a genuine absence then that is fine, but I’ll bet my last dollar that at least half won’t be.
