Peterborough Panthers 2023
Steve Irving replied to Flappy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Looks ok from those hand picked fixtures, but if you delve a bit deeper, not so impressive. His averages in recent season are 5.60, 5.22, 5.51 and this season 6.31 which suggests that is as good as it gets. He also had a spell at reserve which he won’t be getting at Peterborough. He did average over 7 for Poole for balance, but that was before these recent averages listed above -
Worrall is at Peterborough.

Completely disagree. You don’t pass up the opportunity of signing Sayfutdinov if the chance is there. Just look at the excitement generated on your Peterborough thread when Carpman dangled his rod and hooked a few! A top two of Doyle and Sayfutdinov will get the turnstiles clicking and generate huge enthusiasm. Don’t completely agree with your tail end comments either. You can forget Thomas because every club has a rising star and he’ll be fine. Rew is a top talent, I’m convinced he’ll be fine too although you can never be sure until the action starts. That just leaves Hume who admittedly will be one of the weaker reserves in the league but he’s an improving rider who’ll mix it.

I think you’d both be in the minority and not even close. Would you get more of a buzz queuing for the first meeting knowing you’re about to see a combo of Ritchie Worrall and Hans Andersen or Emil Sayfutdinov? I think the vast majority of supporters up and down the country would take the hit of having a weaker second rider if it meant watching Emil every other week.

By signing him knowing that? Dunno, ask the wrestling fella, he’s the one for buses and throwing. -

Completely different circumstances. -

The only one that would be throwing Hume “under the bus” would be Louis not the supporters. Supporters don’t pick the teams. -
I’m not having this one. He’ll be up against two heatleaders and and the likes of the two Worrall’s. He won’t be scoring a single point. I think you’ve got some duff information there.

No idea why don’t you ask them? But to my knowledge, Louis hasn’t been giving it the big “I am” with boasts about what he’s going to do on social media like this pillock has he? He’s been on the scene all of 5 minutes and is already giving it the “I’m a winner” self appraisal crap. Just pipe down and get on with it ffs. -

Well we’ll soon find out if your new man is the real deal or simply full of sh!t. -

The delay all makes perfect sense now. Ipswich have to wait until Peterborough sort their team first so they can then use whatever riders Peterborough decide they don’t want. -

So what’s your team then Flappy? You’ve named Iversen, Holder, Tungate, R Worrall and now Emil. Which one are you now omitting? -

I did indeed, and the fact remains that Tungate agreed a deal with Peterborough ages ago. Flappy has also since stated that Tungate was in, as well as Ritchie Worrall. They can’t all fit! -

Why are you asking this question? Emil doesn’t fit alongside your “locks” does he? -
This puts pressure on Louis to get one nailed now though imo. Things very rarely stay private and confidential in this day and age and he will know full well what is getting leaked through numerous sources. Announcing Batchelor and Worrall would no longer cut it and he knows it.

Whoever it ends up being, Doyle will have a quality rider as back up, unlike last year.

Predictions for Prem 2023 as teams stand ...
Steve Irving replied to Pauldoveyspeedway's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Surely the discussion is the UK? He’s talking absolute bollocks by stating Masters isn’t a genuine number 1 in this league when he blatantly is. This is similar to “Holder Fricke and Kurtz are now better riders than Doyle” that we heard last winter when the fact is those riders aren’t in the same stratosphere as Doyle in this Country. There isn’t a single fan of a UK club that would pick Tungate in their side over Sam Masters. -
Well I’m hearing the deal with Emil is done from a financial point of view. It’s now a question of how long Chris Louis is prepared to wait before moving on. Not an easy deal to complete for obvious reasons.
-
Wouldn’t make a jot of difference though if either was signed along with Emil. There’d be 4.27 left, so you may as well say you’re signing them pretty much on their real averages. The benefit of the 25% would instantly disappear.
-
You have to laugh really, only Poole supporters can come up with the tripe that one of their precious little riders is better than a rider who comfortably has a better average than him. Good luck to both Wolves and Peterborough fans because their threads will now be swarmed by the Poole mafia who’ll make it all about them.
-
There was a few meetings from memory, I’m thinking the Wolves meeting where the inside wasn’t working and the outside was literally the only place to be. Was definitely inconsistencies there which isn’t surprising as that’ll be the same for all tracks. Weather obviously plays a huge part in that. Can be a pretty thankless task prepping tracks.

What a race that is!

Give over ffs Flint averaged nearly a point and a half more than Zach Cook over the course of the season, which lasts from April to October. Flint has far far more potential than Zach Cook and you know it.

If Ipswich sign Sayfutdinov I’ll run a lap at Foxhall first meeting in my birthday suit. -

My point was that it’s all coming from Phil and Phil only, as apposed to ITK’s plural as was suggested.
